Played here today. Got in touch with a former colleague after I moved up here who lives in Elk Grove. Turns out he works at the course. Invite accepted.

It is a really nice public course. Very busy. But players and marshals keep things moving and POP was right on 4 hours.

I found the course to be in nice shape at this time of the year and totally enjoyed the course and company.

No issues with any tee boxes. Fairways had good coverage and decent roll out.

Rough was not overly penalizing and the traps were all playable and heard no complaints.

Greens are in good shape and chipped/putted very well the entire round. And found that people do fix divots.

For a public course that gets a lot of play the management keeps this place in nice shape. Very enjoyable course and easy to walk from what I saw of the many players doing so. Its run by Southgate Rec/Park and not Troon, American Golf, etc. So that may be the reason.

Had lunch in the Wildhawk Grill and it was excellent. In service, quality of food and prices.

Recommended if you are in the area.
