Never played here before and called in an hour before heading to the course. Squeezed us in (twosome) with another two. The facility looks very nice, pro shop well stocked, and counter folks courteous and helpful, grill type bar (fast at the turn). No time to hit the double-decker range. Hit a few putts on sanded practice green (consistent with on-course greens, that's a plus) and teed off.

Green. Very, very green course, with penal rough (March). Kind of unusual for this year as rain has been sparse. Tight fairways (unless you include the often parallel fairways next door), that test ball striking and shot making over distance. The "Lagos" appear manmade but come into play often. Par is 68 and there are more par fives and threes than usual. Nice fairway grass, good sand. Fun course, very picturesque surroundings (who knew?).

A family of very tame (don't touch though) foxes live (and beg for golf snacks) across the bridge (which is crossed two times?) Never seen this before on a course. Big wild turkeys, tons of wildlife, etc. Greens sanded, but still fairly quick, with lots of slope, movement and challenging. Some fairway repair going on and a bit of a problem on the 18th at about 120 out that looks to be fixed soon. Liked the course but (broken record alert) didn't care for the pace. For a Tuesday morning it was molten. Probably because it is such a well maintained, fun, walkable course smack in the middle of San Jo. Check it out.

Public course owned by the City of San Jose. Paid $60 for the round with a cart. We were stuck behind a slow group and the course marshal was on them the from the front nine to speed up the play. The greens were AMAZING!!!! The fairways are nice and the rough is rough. Will be back to play again...

The only way to play this course is to show up within the first 1/2 - one hour of first tee time, otherwise too slow.

The marshals must sit at the bar and drink all day, they are useless.

This course is way overbooked and not watched over whatsoever. There are two groups on the tee at every hole, a group in the fairway, and a group on the green. It takes 6 hours to play a par 68, which is a joke. The marshall is virtually never present and there are people hitting balls all over the place on this course and playing whatever hole they feel. One group tried to drive right passed the hole we were playing and head to the tee in front of us and I had enough and called the pro shop and they did nothing about it. Several times our group was hit into and we complained about this as well. All players in our group were bogey golfers or better and this was still the case. Ridiculous!!! This course while never see another dime from me. I'd encourage you to play somewhere that golf etiquette is followed. Course is in decent shape. It's a shame.

My first time playing the course was Monday morning 12/09. I had read complaints about pace of play and about the staff. I found both to be very good. The starter was warm and engaging and the pro shop staff friendly. We walked the 18 in a little over 4 1/4 hours.

There is some work being done to move the cart path on 10th, 11th and 12th holes and the 12th tee box is being changed. But overall a fun course well worth the money.

I like the course, it has forgiving fairways, many are side by side, which gives you feeling it is ok to not hit a perfect tee shot. The course is found to be more difficult than one might think from ... Continue »

I like the course, it has forgiving fairways, many are side by side, which gives you feeling it is ok to not hit a perfect tee shot. The course is found to be more difficult than one might think from the length, it has good challenging par 3's and good length par 5's for good golfer. I recommend trying the course and seeing you can shoot your handicap.

played here on friday 6th and the course was once again in really great shape. the greens were really good too. the traps were good with some heavy sand in places but stay out of them... the fairways look good too. the pace of play for a Friday were sometimes slow but overall we still got all 18 in and we started at 4:30pm. if you have never played here there are spots you have to walk a long way between tee boxes, like 3-400yds, you have to cross a large creek to get there 4 times. a push or pull cart makes this easier, but a cart will allow you to relax a bit more. the course has a practice range for warming up and 2 greens for putting. the clubhouse is really nice and well priced. the pro shop staff is very helpful too. this course has only 2 par 4's and the rest are par 5's and 3's. as the name implies it has water. there are lots of water crossing and lakes that run along the fairways or are in front of the greens. this course is plenty challenging and the par is 68 and is about 5300yds long. if its windy in the afternoon this course will challenge the best golfer out there...
the twilight on weekdays is the best round for the buck at 23.00.

10/6 - NEEDS A LEAF BLOWER. Greens would have been awesome if there weren't so much debris everywhere. We had to clear our line of putt on nearly every hole. Besides that and the snail's pace, course condition was awesome. Can't beat the value either - but bring cash!
