Greens recently punched. Front 9 almost healed but needs a trimming. It appears they sanded greens. Back 9 still shows holes from punches; very bumpy on back 9.

Fairways OK shape. Not thin and very playable. Bunkers need sand. Thin layer of sand with clay at the bottom won't cut it. Rough is about even with fairway so no penalties there. Pace of play was a blistering 3 hours for 18 holes on a Saturday! Teed off around 3pm and was back at the club house parking lot around 6:30pm...I miss the greens being a little faster and better cared.

Played in a tournament today teeing off about 8:30. They got us off early which is unusual in my experience at LA County courses. The conditions were okay. There were not many bare spots that I saw although the fairway grass was very inconsistent as to whether it was tight or lush. The rough was not a factor and there were areas of it which were not as watered as others. The greens were consistent in their slowness and bumpiness. The greens were more bumpy in the front nine but not that much more. Over the last 30 years, I have seen the greens better but never much worse. The sand was fine. For whatever reason, it looked like they had done a machine rake of the traps on the front but not on the back. We played in just a little over 5 hours. No drink cart. I could have used one midway through the back nine when my game went south.

There are 3 days in golf where it's not as crowded: Christmas Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Super Bowl Sunday Afternoon. We were in for a treat. Played as a twosome and finished in under 3 hours! That's right 18 holes in under 3 hours!

Greens are perhaps the best I have seen. A little bumpy but fast on the front 9. The back 9 typical muni greens. Remember they only redid 9 holes (the front 9) for the renovation so you have literally two different 9 holes here.

Fairways are a little thin/bare but certainly playable. Rough is thin as well with some bare spots. Tee boxes are flat except for 11. Sand in bunkers is a little on the thin side but consistent so playable.

Overall had fun. Realized that playing 18 holes in under 3 hours is not tiring like I thought it may be. In fact I think I get more tired playing longer rounds of golf. Why? I am not a physiologist just found out from personal experience.

If decent golf conditions are what you're looking for well then Alondra won't disappoint but mind you this is a muni so in reality expect muni conditions just in this case expect better than muni conditions.

Played yesterday before the rain came. Greens in OK shape. Loads of release even on the older greens (Back 9). Took a while to figure out what to do to score low. They had a frost delay so that had something to do with the way the greens rolled which was faster than normal with loads of roll. Fairways in OK shape. Many thin areas but I think it's due in part to the weather and season. Rough is pretty thin with some bare spots here and there. At least the fair had good ground coverage. Sand in bunkers is inconsistent with the older bunkers having compact sand and newer bunkers with best sand for decent explosive shots. No one rakes the bunkers here for some reason and I tell you if they don't I get the feeling why should I. Tee boxes are flat and they rotate them well.

Pace of play (POP) was a blistering 5 hour round. Not the fastest for the area considering we were playing behind a threesome. Course was just crowded for some reason so you couldn't have expected a faster round.

Play here again? Yes. It's my local golf course but for the money I would be better served playing Long Beach area golf courses -- better conditions for the same price.

Match Play vs Jsapiadante yesterday. Great match! Tried to beat the rain and we did! Teed off around 8AM and finished around 12:30 (4 1/2 hours) not bad considering the 4-some in front of us suddenly slowed down on the back 9. 6-some was ahead of them by at least 1 hole so it was a factor (they did slow down the Pace of Play - POP- initially) but they were a non factor on the back 9.

Greens in front rolled pretty true. Very receptive due to rain. Greens on the back were bumpy and a little unpredictable. Literally this course plays like two different 9's. Fairways are typical for this time of year, some bare spots in the fairways but for the most part there is good/decent coverage. Rough is cut thin so easy to get out of. Sand in bunkers decent unlike JS, I saw my fair share of them LOL.

Overall POP was decent considering we were a threesome following a 4some in carts. The 4some ahead of us did manage to keep pace but eventually towards 16-18 they slowed down significantly. Good weather held so that is always a plus. Loads of soft/muddy areas here so watch your step.

Not a lot of trouble on this course. You can spray the ball and still recover; however, as I indicated earlier the greens on both 9's are completely different so you may take a bit to adjust to the different speed of the other set of greens.

Side note: Great playing with you JS! Have fun on your trip and see you the week after perhaps you can exact your revenge!

Played with Ringworld today (12/2) at 8:05am for our match. Went out as a threesome with another single. We were able to avoid the rain until we got to the 17th green. The recent storm made the course very wet and soggy so our tee shots had very little roll if at all on the fairways. Some bare/thin spots in the fairways which were muddy with all the rain so be careful not to slip out there.

Greens were very receptive since it was softened up by the rain. At times our putts were bumpy but overall the greens are a lot better now than they were the last time I was here.

Can't really comment on the bunkers as I was able to avoid them today.

Pace of play was about 4&1/2 hours. We started off fast the first few holes but was held up by a SIXSOME 2 holes ahead! I believe the marshall tried to break them up but we saw that they were still together when I saw them on the 17th green.

Overall, good times playing with Ringworld. I'll always come back here since it's so close to me.

Played Saturday. Greens are in good shape. Looks like they are taking care of the course. Fairways are fairly lush with thin spots (but playable) on several holes. Tee boxes in good shape and flat. Rough is thick and sticky. Pace of play was quick for twilight. Played through a twosome and finished 9 holes just as the sun set.

For the price it's decent conditions. Looks like the staff is making course conditions a priority and it shows with the current golf course condition.

Not a lot of trouble here so OK to spray the ball and still salvage par -- good to help build confidence. Would I play here again? Yes of course I live just around the corner and it's conditions make playing this course here in the South Bay better than say.... Victoria.

Currently greens are very bumpy; do not hold lines well (at least on front). Back 9 greens are also bumpy but rolled a bit better. Looks like they are also fertilizing fairways. Bunkers OK. Tee boxes are good. My biggest gripe were the greens. Worst I have seen. Noted that they have aerated recently so expect the greens to get hopefully better over time.

I don't mind slow greens. It's typical for Munis but this is the worst I have seen these greens in over 3 years -- Very bumpy and won't hold their line well.

Pace of play OK but seriously putting a twosome sandwiched between two foursomes? At least I got out quickly (wait time 10 minutes). My personal opinion about this course? Wait. Greens are not the best they should be.
