Pace of play this AM - right on 4 hours. Course is still a little wet in some areas after the rain. Not running as fast as it did last week for sure. Rain helped all the greens. Softer and more receptive to shots and all in good condition with just the right speed. Fairways are providing some good lies but also some thin ones as well. And the rain has brought back the clumpy tufts of turf that look like small helmets and only seem to behave after they have been cut. March 1st rates go up $ .50 for seniors w card and $1 for all others. No word on cart prices.

Played in 3:30 this morning. Fairways hard and rolling which I personally like for this course. Greens were fast and in great shape so local knowledge was paramount today. The new improvements on back 9 are developing very nicely. Overall course conditions were excellent in my opinion. Word is out that prices are going up both at City and County courses shortly.

Off the first tee at 7:15am and finished 4 hours later with very little waiting. Dry, warm weather has dried out the fairways so bad that most tee shots ran through into the thin rough ... luckily, most lies were very playable. Greens firm and holding only a well struck iron in most cases. Extremely quick putting surfaces with some trick pin positions today ... a couple holes were 3 putts unless you jarred it. Let's hope the upcoming rain softens things up here.

Played early today - 5th group out. Played in about 4.5 hours. The course is in pretty good shape. The greens were outstanding. Fast and true. The tee boxes were pretty chewed up, especially the new ones on the back nine. The fairways were okay. The rough was not a factor. I was only in a sand trap on the back with the new sand and it was thick. Beautiful day although quite cold.

Played early AM on 12/26: POP 4 hrs flat, weekday rates of $26/walking. Overnight rain means nothing here as LV is located on the side of the Hill and has excellent drainage. There was some muddy areas on the back nine where the construction had been, that's it. Greens were mowed and great, bunkers wet but very playable. Great course during the wet season. But when it's windy, like today, you better know how to control the ball flight or it's a goner.

Played on 12/23/12 at 6:45am. This is my first time playing this course so I can't comment on how much it's improved from the last few months. Was one of the first groups out so POP was very good considering normal pace here is on the slow side during the weekend (from what I hear). Was able to finish in less than 4 1/2 hours.

Greens were very good as most putts rolled true with little divots (no matter what your eyes tell you, everything breaks towards the ocean). Fairways were lush and they proved quite difficult because even if you find yourself in the middle, you'll rarely find yourself on an even lie. Rough was cut fairly short so it's not too penal if you find yourself in it. The few bunkers I was in was nice and fluffy. Tee boxes to me were my only complaints. Lots of bare spots and the overnight rain didn't help any as it got pretty slippery out there.

Great and challenging course. I'd love to play it again if I can get another tee time that early. Merry Christmas to everyone and be safe!

Played 12/22 morning, back nine pretty much done w/ recent renovations, w/ 18th hole still had some areas off limit to allow new grounds and sands some time to heal, overall looks good. Now if only the marshals can push the POP, at least w/ groups that are one hole behind to keep pace, and management post a sign or something in the starting tee box regarding on who should be playing the back tee, this would really make LV the true gem of southern Cal.

We played 12/12/12 in 4 hours. Course is in good shape and just received a notice from American Golf that all remodeling on back 9 is finished? Well they were finalizing # 18 yesterday so I guess as of today it is done. Still some areas of grass they put in will take some time to mature. The changes they made are really very nice. the addition of new fresh sand and removal of some bunkers really improved the course. Especially the new tee boxes which are a great improvement on all the holes. My only suggestion for the lack of civility by those who refuse to rake the bunkers is stay out of them if you can. Let's hope they don't decide to raise the rates? They say they will be back in the spring (April) to begin work on the front 9?

Early tee time was still 15 min. late but POP was just over 4 hours with a little bit of waiting on the first 5 holes. Last of the back nine renovation was found on greeside bunkers on #18 but they should finish very soon. Still some roped off GUR around 10 green and 18 fairway, otherwise the back nine is done and looking good. The rest of the course is in good shape, everything open and playable ... poa greens med speed and true.

If we can only get the 'inconsiderates' to rank the bunkers afterward ... an ongoing problem here. Any suggestions?
