Thanks to sixpez, who won a monthly drawing, a few of us got a round in on this private course. Sign up on their website. At this time, they do offer public play on Mondays and Tuesdays ($39 and $45, respectively, including range and cart). Do you like fast greens? With everything breaking northward to the desert floor? Do you like to drive out to the boonies? Well, it's not that far, but close. Hey, right now the course is in fine shape. The weather can be a factor, like today with a cold northeast wind, but catch this course on a warm day and it can be wonderful. Tees are fairly level and finding a good spot to hit from is easy. The fairways are lush, as is the primary rough in many places. Get outside of that and you have some decomposed granite waste areas and desert, although most of the real desert is ob. The greens were fast and smooth. Despite the quickness, they were soft enough to hold good shots. Putting on these greens is a pleasure, but be prepared to respect the downhillers, even if it doesn't appear downhill. We all had a good time, but I think we also got a beat down score-wise. Customer service was nice, although we were obviously non-members. The clubhouse is kind of old, but clean. The folks there are friendly enough and the food and beer was reasonably priced. I prefer to play this one when the weather is not cold and wintry like today was.
