Played 5-2-22 early morning as a single riding for $70, and finishing in about 2 hours and 45 minutes taking my time with hardly anyone else on the golf course. Tee boxes were in good shape, green, level, and lush. Fairways were in nice condition, mostly green and lush with some small minor thin spots. They had good roll out with nice lies and good padding. Rough was in good shape, mostly cut low along fairways and a little longer around greens. Was in two greenside bunkers, both of which were nicely groomed with a good amount of sand. Greens were still healing from being punched, about 80% back, rolling decent at medium/fast pace and playing semi-soft. They are back to allowing some outside play, anytime on Mondays and after 10am Tuesday thru Friday for $70 including cart. Real fun course to play out in the high desert. Highly recommend.

09:20am tee time & 10:00am shotgun respectively. Both days were a beautiful sunny day in the mid to high 60s. The wind came around 02:00pm on Sunday but mostly 6-9 mph before that.

It was a Team Play match that I was lucky enough to have been a part of- I was on the away team but I knew most everyone- many friends in both teams, making it a great two days of visit and a Saturday match though we got our b-hinds kicked :-) CCC team played well. ...and we didn’t.

Anyway, this old course held its own during the competition with its good conditions despite the two 15 inch snow they had during two grand holidays, Thanksgiving and Christmas, covering the grounds for more than two weeks each time. I’d say the current conditions right now is pretty darn good!

The fairways are in lush good shape- a little on the dry side now so the ball ran pretty good.

The bunkers (green side) where I was in a couple different times or more had sand and they were well preped- they all looked good but the fairway bunkers lacked the sand (making it easier to get out of I think).

A few teeing grounds like on #2 was thin and had mostly been that way Or I’ll just say grass stays weaker around the trees it is under from that spot. #11 & 15 has the uneven grounds- watch where u tee it or use it to your own advantage. There were a few other tees that weren’t quite green in color because of the cold weather, but it’s really okay it has good grass coverage- dormant.

The greens were surprisingly smooth and fast- rolled very true and it also held good shots in- everyone loved it as I hear positive comments at different times on other’s conversations. (I know , I can’t help it :-) A couple of the greens had some work being done along the top edges if I remember but out where it didn’t play. The greens played fabulous and better than it looks in mixed coloration, again, from cold weather and type of mixed grass.

The meals were well prepared and quite tasty and the generous members’ open bar was awesome for the day’s event. Win or lose, it was fun with plenty of great camaraderie being had on that fun day.

The good staff and services at the dining were excellent and the pro shop staff were never behind. I’s were dotted and tees crossed in preparing the whole day with their expertise in all aspects of services and our needs. New range balls, carts with names, cards were well marked with handicaps and all. Very professional and official and it’s just nice to have that in a group match.

In addition, there were a few old trees that had been down and some new ones are in replacement. The trees around the par 3 #11 and par 5, 12th are being trimmed up top (yes!) you can hit high shots again when the wind is down.

Come visit this old school Billy Bell, Jr. design. It’s away from the hustle and bustle of traffic and city with a truly enjoyable experience.

We were here on Saturday, 10/05/19 10:15 tee time. It was a nice warm sunny day of low 80s with a little breeze.

$65 with a cart and range balls. If you feel like going out again, it's $15 for the cart only.

The first thing I was eager to know was the greens if they've healed, and as witnessed, it was completely healed and rolling nicely- about a 10 on stimpmeter. It was nice!

The bunkers looked good and well prepared, the teeing grounds were fine and the fairways were a little soft not having much roll.

Looks like the course is geared for the winter season and from past experiences, it only gets better from here on.

Staff are great as always.

Play Days: July 19, 20, & 21 - 2019 (Member/Guest) Tee times all started at 09:00am The weather was in the high 90's, clear skies with some light breeze- Perfect! The prior week was the US Am Qualifier on July 16th. With that said, the conditions were excellent- just superb and enjoyable. The greens were so smooth like silk but just a medium fast speed. The bunkers had well prepared sand in it and played nice. The fairways were cut tight (no ball divots on drives landing on fairways!) it ran some like it is supposed to, but not so much like a dried hard ground. The fairways are also widened leaving smaller areas for the rough. There were roughs and it can get penalizing along side of the fairways as well as around the greens, it will affect the strokes and may be tough to spin, having flyer lies and some tough shots to get out of to a target goal. The teeing rounds were fine. All in all, the course held its own making it a tough but a fun and pleasurable course to play. The beverage cart came out in the Saturday afternoon round (nice). But during the whole weekend, there were snacks, fruits, and many drinks and cocktails at the gazebo. Everyone, the staff including the committee were great and well organized all the way around this tournament on this very well prepared course. It was such a pleasure to play in- so inspiring that I played exceptionally well on all three days as my partner and I took the first gross winners on the B group. I don't normally bring up anything about my rounds on reviews, but this was just extra ordinarily special as a result that starts from a great golf course conditioning. Cheers!

Played 5-14-18 for $44 including cart and a replay fee of $15 finishing both rounds in about 3 1/2 hours on a fairly empty course. Tee boxes were in really good shape, level, lush and minimal divot damage on par threes. Fairways were in very nice shape, mostly green and lush with some minor small brown spots. Rough was in descent shape, cut pretty low, semi-lush and getting a little thin the farther you got from the fairways. Was in one greenside bunker that was in good shape, well groomed and had semi-firm brown sand. Greens were in great shape as usual, semi-firm, fast and smooth, always a treat to putt on. This has always been a fun course for me with a great layout and great conditions.

We were here on September 3rd, and so glad to be back on for a day of golf with one of the members here. It wasn't surprising to find the greens to be in its normal excellent shape- smooth, probably an 11 on a stimpmeter- not overly fast- just a great speed, I think, and it was really a pleasure to putt on. The bunkers have sand in it although it was powdery on some (like on #10 front right bunker) and just right on others that I was in. The fairways were a little on the wet side as they protect from the heat, and the teeing grounds were pretty good. I could play all day on a course like this and that's just what we did.

Played today with fellow GKer, DrinkSmokeGolf, and a couple of pals, one of whom is a member. We started out in sunny, cool, and breezy conditions teeing off about 8:30 a.m. behind a few of the regulars. Great pace of play, although we were slow enough to let a group of ladies pass us at the turn. The greens were aerated recently and are still recovering; however, they rolled great with a lot of speed-mostly firm and fast all day long. I would say in about two weeks of good weather these greens will be perfect. They must have good water here because it was like a green carpet everywhere (except the few pesky desert waste areas inside the course). The fairways were nicely cut and the rough was very consistent and not in the least penal. Tees level. Sand raked nicely; a little on the thin side but good enough. Almost all the lakes were full with nice, clear water. Later in the morning, the wind subsided and the sunshine warmed the course nicely. Great prices in the bar!

I played in a scramble tournament here yesterday. Despite having water issues during our drought, the course seems to be coming along nicely. The greens have recovered from recent aeration. Some of the greens showed some signs of the aeration holes but they rolled perfectly smooth. The fairways are in great shape; they look pristine and nicely mowed. We never had a bad lie all day. The rough varied slightly from lush to thin but it was mowed to a consistent height. The pro shop told me they are open for public play on Mondays, $44 including cart.

A bit of a hike to get here, but a really fun and maddening track awaited. Winds were a blowin' for both of our rounds at 15-20mph pretty consistently. Greens were very good with very subtle breaks and local knowledge is extremely helpful (breaks go to Palmdale and AWAY from the San Gabriels no matter how much it looks otherwise). I thought the fairways were pretty solid with a few dry patches. Rough was basically nonexistent off the fairways, but showed up around the greens. Bunkers were solid. I very much enjoyed the layout (Joshua trees in the fairways were a big plus) and look forward to a return trip. I need to get my revenge...
