6/17 wanted to get in a round with 18 holes open in between construction closures. Course will be front only starting 6/22 as the tunnel refurb will start and the laying of new irrigation piping will begin on the back. Fairways had ok cover but some were showing the lack of water due to the pipe project. Rough varied from thin to difficult, never too long but some places the ball would sink down enough affect the outcome. Tees often have some slope but otherwise ok. Bunkers appear recently groomed so ok early in day.
Greens not as smooth as usual. Speeds seemed to vary as they are hand watering.
Friendly staff. Current project is quite an undertaking so expect continued disruption. The work that has been completed shows a lot of attention to detail so when done and healed from the excavation it looks to have some potential.

5/19 currently due to major renovation project only the back 9 are open. Fairways for the most part are quite good full and rather soft so not excessive roll. Very good lies. rough cut to about 2 inches and thick. Tees often have some slope or crowning to factor in but have good cover. Bunkers were recently groomed so early in the day in ok condition.
Greens are very healthy smooth rolling at medium fast pace, soft enough to hold well struck shots. Cups have foam fillers that often do not provide much space from the top of the cup.
POP 415 which was not bad what with the potential for congestion with groups doing 2 laps.

Using teeoff.com 2/28 915 tee off 345 POP with some waiting with no one pushing. Nice warm slight breeze sunshine another tough SC winter a m. Course overall is in good playing condition. However they are staring an ongoing water main repair project that will move from hole to hole to replace the Nixon era piping. Hence #1 currently has the tees in the fairway about 280 out and plays as a par 4. They are also constructing an additional green like the other 2 that were added to keep 18 holes in play at all times. Fairways are in really good shape overall. Some are practically like carpet and others are good with a few thinish areas. A few areas have some mixed grasses so a clump could be encountered. There are really no dormant areas. Rough is present along fairways and today cut to about 1 inch. Areas around the greens and on some slopes are about 2-3 inches and juicy. Bunkers from observation looked to have been recently groomed. By history many have adequate sand and a few are thin over hard pack in the lowest portion. Tees are the weakest link often thin and depending on marker location uneven. Greens are smooth and FAST but will hold well struck approach shots and pitches with spin. Red white and blue flags denote front middle and back with many holes located toward the perimeter laterally in the zone which brings more contour into the putts . Friendly staff with casual check in. New comfortable carts. No GPS. If you like good lies and really good greens at a reasonable fee check out Shorecliffs certainly a better than average muni.

played 2/14 and 17 using tee off deal times with POP about 415 each day. Overall on course conditions remain pretty solid with fairways having good cover and the rough shortish but still long enough to impede roll but otherwise quite playable. Some areas thicker and more challenging around the greens. Bunkers are mixed some with newer deep sand and some with more compacted to thin conditions. Tee as well.s are thin and some are not level. Greens are smooth medium fast and are more on the firm side bit will hold well struck approaches. A couple have some residual mower damage around the outer edges unsightly but not really in play.

1/31 on an exceptionally wonderful SC winter morning 1015 tee off with POP of 315 slowed only by the random off line shot and the subsequent search to see if it was playable.
Fairways are in really good shape have good cover and cushion. Enough rough along the fairway to slow the forward progress but not too penal for the shot. Some thick stuff around some of the greens. Bunkers are being worked on and new sand in some which looks good but takes a more shallow path to a proper result--inch behind and an inch deep and about 6-8 inches of flat divot--very little margin for error. Tees are the weak link here.
Greens were smooth and wickedly fast and with pins being placed toward the perimeters on several holes the challenge is only increased.
If you come here and just focus on the playing conditions you will not be disappointed as currently the overall condition is much better than many courses in the area.
New carts nice staff.

1/22 comfortable 3 3/4 POP with only a few brief waits and no pressure from behind as had to track down the occasional errant shot. Overall the course is in good shape but has a rather rough look to it as the carts are old and slow, some cart paths are worn and broken and the routing thru some 18th century dark sewer like tunnels and there is for now some back tracking(as of Sunday will be able to continue on from #4 and travel past what will be the new #5). Also the club house is under renovation and food service is on the front patio where an excellent Mexican grill provides a nice variety. Also the course has carried a negative reputation but is currently on the rise. It is still tight and stray shots are usually gone for good.
Fairways are in much better condition than many other courses with lush healthy grass giving good cushion and still decent roll. There are some areas where there are mixed varieties of grasses but being well mowed not a factor as to play. Rough is for the most part quite healthy impeding roll out and requiring proper execution. Longer and thicker on slopes and around the greens.
Bunkers are a mixed lot with some thin over hard pan some with newer heavy sand and some in Goldilocks condition. Tees show considerable wear and often have some slope or crowning.
The greens are definitely high quality smooth medium fast holding well struck shots and providing nice roll for chips and being of consistent speed. Also since they have started using all the green area for pin placements there are some wicked challenging putts.
Staff members are welcoming. For the golf itself conditions are better here than at some of the more costly courses.

played 10/6 and 10/10 POP 3 1/2 with only limited waiting. Fairways generally have good cover with a few scattered thin area and some areas of excellent conditions. Rough is challenging and in some areas really penal. Sand could be quite good to rather thin. Tees are still a weak area as some are sloped or well worn.
Greens are in great shape quite fast rolling have smooth and true, receptive to full shots firm for chips and pitches. Recently they have started using pin placements toward the edges of the greens which has added another dimension of challenge and makes for a much more interesting round.

What a disaster of a course. Played here twice in December 2019. The whole course is in terrible shape (except the greens, which get a B-), the carts all need new batteries, the paths are in disrepair, the routing is insane - some par 5s have been turned into two par 3s and some holes aren't accessible without going backwards through the course. There is no cafe or restaurant, no drink cart, and they charge about $35-$40 per round which is honestly insane.

played here 2x 11/8 11/11 teeoff deal time--close easy to get to and inexpensive. POP right at 4hr playing without pressure as to pace and enjoying the SC weather. Paired with the same couple both days and just went along with the flow.
Conditions are varied fairways have some really good areas particularly down the middle 30 yards. There are some thin spots and some areas that have collected excess water. Rough has been cut down along fairways but is often thick and juicy around the greens and on slopes. There are a few bare areas on some extreme perimeters.
Bunkers range from firm and compact to deeply filled heavy sand requiring assessment and execution. Tees are often thin but not much of an issue other than looking bad.
Greens are not as closely mowed right now so there is more grain and some bumpiness to factor in. All and all they still are quite good.
