We played the Classic course second, which was home to the Bob Hope tournament for a number of years. By the time we teed off a little after noon, this place was pretty much a ghost town and we had the course to ourselves for a nice quick pace in the heat.

As noted in the Cove review, both courses were in very good shape overall. Starting to dry/brown out a little in places, but fairway lies always perfect and short rough was like hitting off a tee. Tee boxes excellent, bunkers with good sand and solid greens. Typical for this time of year with very firm surfaces—smooth and running at medium speeds.

Classic is definitely a tougher course than Cove with much tighter angles, more severe doglegs and more undulation/slope on the greens. The opposite of Cove, the front nine on Classic is the one that runs along the mountains. I'd love to play the front on Classic and the back on Cove as a really cool 18 combo. Still, the back nine here is pretty solid, too, and the finishing hole is great as it also runs right along the edge of the rugged, rocky hillside. I think the IWCC courses are definitely two of the better "older" style country club courses I've played out there, so I'd recommend either with the right stay and play deal or member invite.

Just 3 of us today at 1100, with quiet field, got us around in 3+45. Super lush tee to green. Fairways firm and running, greens firm, smooth and true and fast. Great sand, as I was on the beach a lot today. Good layout with excellent prac-fac and customer service. A first class club.

An excellent first class facility throughout. Friendly helpful staff, good F&B, wonderful practice facility, and excellent conditions on course today. Greens have sped up and still hold well even though they are firm. Lush from tee through green; very good sand too. Lots of drinks cart attention and a quick round (strange for Saturday) at 3+10. That is it.

TGIF for us at IWCC with 1132 tee time. The Classic course just reopened from over seed and carts are on paths for the next while. Seriously, a country club. First class throughout. Friendly check in, great prac/fac (see photos) and magnificent clubhouse rounds out the day on a lush, green, fresh presentation of the historic layout. We went around with another 2 ball in 4 hours, attended frequently by drinks cart and friendly marshal. Tee through green was great. Rough is lush and 2 inches high. Greens were smooth, holding but slightly slow as the new grass gets hold. Sand good. Some interesting holes, yet a couple, forgettable. A very enjoyable day indeed.

Had the opportunity to play here Weds afternoon. The course looks like it is just getting ready to overseed because they were skinning the rough. Fun track and with a 25-30 mile an hour wind on the back nine, it was more so. Course is in great shape and is very fun. Not the longest track, but the setting is spectacular back against the mountains. Some very fun holes and lots of variations. I hit all the clubs in the bag today. Service-it is a country club and has that extra special service you would expect. Hope I get a chance to play it again some time.
