Walked the Home Course last Sunday (9/20/15) early in the morning and had a very good time. We were the second group out, so pace was not an issue at all. Course conditions here are always very good, and for the price they really can't be beat. Greens are great here, they rolled at a medium speed, very true and very consistent. Fairways were a bit better than the last time I was here, although a few still didn't seem great. Tee boxes and rough very good, as was the 1 bunker that I found. I love the design here, as its really hard to lose a ball, but if you're not in the right spot on the fairway or green, you won't have an easy time of it. As always, I'm glad I made the trek down from Redmond.

Played the Home Course this past Saturday (4/25/15) walking it in about 4 and a half hours. As always, the greens were just about perfect. There was the occasional pitch mark to clean up, but other than that they were nice. A little quicker the most everything else up here, and rolling quite true. Tee boxes were good as well, as was the one green side bunker that I found. Fairways were a little bit disappointing, though. They're usually on the thin side here, but they seem to be very thin at the moment. They give lots of roll of the tee, but hitting irons off of them made me feel like I had to pick it absolutely clean. I felt like I was getting slightly better lies in the rough, which wasn't very long at all. Overall still worth the trip, as the greens really were great.

Played a black Friday morning round at The Home Course, and got around insanely fast, walking it in 3:15. Which was a very good thing, as pretty soon after I finished it started raining really hard. I went out as a single behind a foursome that was the first group of the day, and they let me play through at number 4, the first of the par 3's. Conditions were very good as always here, the fairways shockingly good considering how much it rains this time of year. I found one green side bunker, and the sand was very good. Tee boxes and rough very nice as well. Greens were pretty good too, although quite slow. Even with the greens on the slow side, they still roll much better than most anywhere else up here during the late fall and early winter.

Walked the Home Course this morning, teeing off as a single behind a twosome that was the 1st group out. I caught up to them at the 7th green, and the three of us walked the rest of the course together, finishing in just about 4 hours after the time I teed off. Conditions were very good, especially considering the amount of rain that came down over the past week. Greens were good, holding shots nicely and putting true, even if they were a little bit slower than they normally are. The starter remarked to me as I was warming up on the putting green that they'll most likely keep them on the slow side until the spring comes. Fairways, rough, and tee boxes were all excellent as well, like they normally are here. I avoided all of the bunkers, but they looked pretty good too. At about $40 to walk on a weekend morning, this place is so worth it.

Played yesterday. POP was no issue. Located in the town of Dupont, as the area was once owned by Dupont company so they could make explosives. In fact the back tees are named Dynamite and play at 7424 yards. Now the area is residential and the course is home to Pacific NW Golf Assoc. They had just done the greens, so they were kind enough to lower the rates, even though rates here are excellent and putting was not really affected. Clubhouse is currently in a trailer and the staff is great and accommodating. No eating facilities at present on the premises, other than snack trailer. From tee to green, the course was in great condition. The last few days were sunny and that had the course in great shape. I really loved the layout and picking the right tee boxes will give you a fun and enjoyable round. Course had great views of Mt Ranier from several locations today. Course is fairly wide open and you might even describe it as a links course? But you have to be really wild to end up in much trouble and that makes the course seem more friendly. To me, this course seems like the "diamond in the rough" amongst all the great courses (Chambers Bay is minutes away) that this area has to offer. I highly recommend this course if you are in the area. Really just minutes off I 5.

Teed off this morning (9/13/14) at The Home Course at 7:39, paid about $60 to walk it and hit a small bucket to warm up with. The grass driving range here is very nice, as is the short game area. The course also is in amazing shape, the greens were very quick, very true, with very little pitch mark damage. Fairways and tee boxes were pretty solid, and the rough was long and lush. Sometimes the ball would sit up, but if it sat down you really had to muscle it out. I was in one bunker, and the sand was a little bit thin, but not bad. One of my partners had found a few, and he did remark that they were a bit inconsistent, but not too bad.

The only complaint about the day was the pace. We were stuck behind a group of 4 who were playing the black tees (they're about 7000 yards) and they probably weren't quite up to that. as a result, the course was open in front of them, while my partner, the couple we were paired with, and I wound up waiting on most every shot. As a result, the round took 4:40 to complete, which is just a lot more than I can handle. Thankfully it was a gorgeous day, and the course conditions were very, very good. I believe that they'll be punching the greens near the end of the month, so if you can get there before then, you won't regret it.

I played Home Course last Saturday, 5/31/14, and found the place in really good shape. Fairways were much improved since the winter, gave good lies everywhere. Rough wasn't too long, so the penalty for missing a fairway wasn't too bad. Greens rolled great, even though for some reason they always look so sketchy to me here. Just the same, the ball just about never bobbled, and would really hold its line. The pace was good too, medium fast. Also, the practice facility is one of the best of all the public places around Western Washington. I paid just over $60 for the round a small bucket to warm up, and I believe the place is worth more than that.

Took a day off work today and went down to The Home Course to get a round in before they punch their greens. I'm really glad I did, as the place is in awesome shape. Greens rolled incredibly true, and relatively quick. People there have been repairing their marks, which is so nice to see. Tee boxes, traps, fairways and rough were all very good as well. Looked to me like they're letting the rough get up a bit, and also allowing it to pinch in on several holes, making the fairways a little bit harder to hit. The longer, lusher rough also provided a bit more of a penalty then in past rounds. A change for the better it seems to me, as now you need to be just a bit more thoughtful off the tee. Used an email early bird deal, so only paid $30 plus tax, which is an incredible deal.

Got down to The Home Course last Sunday, 4/21/13, and had a really nice round. It was raining pretty good near Seattle as I left, but was nice and dry down south. The course played very well, the only thing I didn't like too much was that the greens were significantly slower than normal here. Their punch was relatively recent, and they rolled a lot truer than it looked like the would, but it sure took a while to get used to hitting it so hard. Fortunately the practice green really did behave as the greens on the course, which were all pretty consistent.

All other parts of the course, fairways, tees, rough, and bunkers, were excellent as always. Walked on as a single, played through one foursome on number 4, and then never saw another soul, so I got around walking in about 3:20, which is really how it should be if you tee off before 7 am. The Home Course really is just about always worth the trek.
