Well, played here during a golf tournament this past weekend (June 28). As usual the staff is outstanding every time I come out and play here. The fairways were absolutely gorgeous, everything was pretty much immaculate with the exception of the greens.

The greens were super slow, had light brown patches everywhere that looked like a whole bunch of jellyfish were just rolled onto the green. Apparently, all greens have some type of fungal infection which is why the course WILL BE CLOSED FOR RENOVATION of all the greens for the next six months. According to the local pro, the Lakes course will not open until next year. This review may be a little biased due to the aforementioned greens, but the course is taking care of the issue. We just happened to be the last tourney to come around before the big renovation.

Played 5/5 and 5/6, sad to write this, but, this place I frequent regularly is NOT IMMACULATE, It is very nice, it plays very well, it is in pretty good shape but the greens are soon to die . The groundskeeper is a magician. He has taken greens filled with poana and who knows what else and rolled and mowed to keep them fast and smooth. But they look like hell. The rest of the course is its usual 1st class condition. Rumor,,, they will shut down the Lakes course end of June, they will tear up all 18 greens and replace. I would assume the desert is next. I truely love playing Primm, the overall experience is usually worth every $$$. Just not right now...

Played a practice round Friday 4/11. Stopped at entrace where greeter asked for tee time or reservation, informed me about bag drop and parking area. At bag drop they asked for my tee time, took bag to my cart. Front desk was courteous and friendly. cart people had our cart set up and ready for play or to warm up, starter informed us where practice area was, we had range balls, and someone to remind us as our tee time approached.

Practice green was punched, slow, and bumpy. Starter informed us that the greens on Lakes course had not healed fully, were bumpy, with some subtle unudlations (sure were 4 three putt holes). The tee boxes were fairly level with no divots, the fairways were lush, with good roll. The greens just as the starter said, some of the bunkers were a little thin.

Cart girl came around every 45 minutes, marshals kept things moving, but it was a 4.5 hr round, not bad for a Friday.
All in all course was in great shape, would rate it a good 9.

Finally the day came and I was able to play the Lakes course. What a great course, definitely does not feel like a desert course, but it was 45 drgrees when we tee'd off. The fairways are picture perfect, lush with good roll. Tee boxes were in great shape and so were the traps. The greens were good and they were medium fast and firm. There was a little dis-coloration to them. looked like two different grasses growing, but it didn't bother me. Played with two Vegas locals that said they had never seen the place in this bad of condition, I never knew what he was talking about. They also said that it looked like poa was taking over the bent grass greens, again, I have to take their words for it. For me, the place was fantastic, pace was great, and the weather outstanding. For $89 and a room in Primm, it's a great deal. They are punching the greens on 3/24/08, so in a few weeks that place should be fantastic. GREAT customer service.

I have played Primm Valley several times per year for the last 8-9 years. It never fails to impress me. The course is always in great shape, the service is excellent, the green fee is very reasonable (as a package with PV Hotel) and NO HOUSES around the course. It doesn't get much better than this for under $175 Hotel and golf.

played lakes course on 10/29 on a beautiful cool day. course has great layout with plenty of room to find fairways but challenging greens and approach shots. every level of player can play with 4 tee boxes. course was in good shape with fairways double cut looking beautiful. greens were good and very receptive primm does not have water problems you find in vegas. tee boxes could have been better maintained but this is nit picking. great course which i would recommend especially if you can find rate under 100 dollars i was on a comp from local radio station. service is very good as well and great veranda to have a cold beverage after the round over looking the 16th hole. green light for this course!!

As usual, Primm Lakes was in super shape, a bit pricy right now but worth it. Played Tuesday, no wind, sunny, a great day. New mgmt, but still owned by MGM Properties. The Terrible Herbst Brothers, the gas station guys bought the 3 hotels at State Line. They will manage the Golf Course but its still a MGM owner. What that means is you will get a deal from State Line Hotels and MGM hotels in Vegas. A great deal compared to Vegas Golf and maybe better conditions.

When in Stateline I always tell the guys at the desk either course is OK,but, I have to admit that I hope its the Lakes, both are fun, both are in great shape, but the Lakes is a nicer way to spend the day. I think its a bit easier, anyway,, had a 4/17 tee , had a great time on a very fun course. Staff is super. MGM Properties have deals,,

Unspoiled golf, everything is great, Aerated a week ago you could hardly tell. Maybe the only thing would be course played a litte slower compared to the hard and fast PGA style it normally does. Usually you play the slopes and reel them in, today they stayed. Wind kicked up on the back, making all the 440 yd par 4's play into the wind, kicked our A-- Good thing the par 5's were downwind, as birdies abounded. Get out there and play, totally enjoyable!

I play here at least 3-4 times a year and can assure you that both these courses are better than any course you'll play in Vegas. I've played all the greats in Vegas and still havn't found one as good. If you go to vegas you need to play both of these courses. Primm Valley has some good stay and play packages too. Show up an hour early and take advantage of the practice areas that are super nice. Take your camera if you want some calendar style photos.

I played on Sun., Jan. 15th. Fairways were in good shape, although a little hard to take much of a divot. The greens were all brown due to the cold evenings, although I would not call the days warm in January. The greens held most shots that landed on the green. We lucked out (again) and played on a day without much wind until the last few holes. Course is interesting and presents some interesting opportunities for players of all skill levels. I always feel as though I've received value when I play this course. The service for our group was very good.

A solid course with good green complexes, firm and fast, and some very good par fours. A good choice when in the Las Vegas area.

Played back in March. If you have to chose between playing the Lakes Course or the Desert Course; definitely choose the Lakes. Both are great tracks and always in great shape (overseeding not withstanding). The Lakes just seems to be a nicer track. Water comes into play on a lot of the holes and there is some risk and reward out there; especially on Hole #2. Greens are hard and fast, but very true. You can't go wrong with either course, but if I was to choose just one to play again, it would be the Lakes.

Played at 1:30 PM on Saturday, 10/29. Course was in great condition – greens fast and firm. Pace was disappointing, however, and we didn’t see a course ranger at any time during the round, except when we called the pro shop about the guy driving his cart between the greenside bunkers on the hole ahead of us. Staff must have decided that players were on their own that afternoon. Barely able to see on 18 – we were the last group who didn’t give up. Lots of water on Lakes course, as opposed to sandy waste areas on the Desert course. If staff are interested, this is an enthusiastic recommendation.

I played Primm on Wednesday. The greens and fairways are in perfect condition. They've already finished their overseeding and the courses are spectacular.

Teed off 8:20 AM Wed the 28th, 5 hr round due to cart path only due to seeding and other work to fairways. Greens were fine, not sure what caused bad green comment below, but today they were almost back to normal which is to me perfect. Staff was as usual great, advised a week ago that it was cart paths only and that play would be slow. A fun day

This course is awesome. Tall grass lining the fairways makes your ball dissapear. Keep you shots and play and you will be rewarded. Fairways were in good condition. Greens need some work. Damage from summer play.

Played 9/4, day before they were going to close the course for overseeding. So the fairways were sloppy. Lost some roll. Other than that, an awesome course. Not too difficult, but the greens are a challenge to read. will come back.

Loved playing here. Treated very well upon arrival and they clean your clubs when your'e done with 18. Marshalls make sure pace of play is smooth. Every fairway seems to slope to your left. Took a little getting used to. The club house was excellent after play with an unbelievable view of course and water fall. Looking forward to playing the Desert course, I hear it's harder and I love a challenge.

I always fly in to LAX and then drive to Vegas. I have played in Palm Springs as well as other SoCal courses before driving up to Vegas. I have played many, many different courses in the Vegas area and have to say that the Primm courses have always been up in the top tier in conditioning (immaculate), friendly service, and overall golf experience. Everyone driving through or flying to Vegas must golf at either or both of these courses. These courses are courses you must experience or you will regret it.

I play here usually going or coming from Vegas when I have to due to work reasons. Both courses are great with totally different feels. Both are equally enjoyable. The Lakes course is not like many in the Vegas area so it tends to get more attention, but I like the desert course just as much. Since I usually am travelling alone a great tip is to just drive up and ask to get on. Last year the walk up rate was $55, which is a great deal. Always got on no problem, have done this 6-7 times. Play one coming and the other going or vise versa!

I ran a 16-man tourney here - the place was loved by all of us - and we've been everywhere from Scotland to Scottsdale together! Highest rating!! Staff is awesome!! Short drive to Vegas - and the casinos locally are not Liked both courses - as different as two courses can be and be on the same land!! Lakes was by far the favorite - lots of risk/reward shots!! Greens were not really bright green (kind of burnt looking) - but fast and putted true!! 5-stars!!

Fabulous, can't say enough about both of the courses at Primm. Lakes course is in terrific shape from tee to green, generous fairways big fast sloping greens, variety of holes, short, long, doglegs, water, rock and flower formations, make this a pleasure to play. customer service is outstanding. I have played both many times and will continue to do so.

Great course! I've only played the Lakes course 3 times, but it has been great. Great deals in the summer ( watch the heat ! ) and a 10 minute drive from stateline. A great weekend getaway. Service is A+. Staff is A+. Course is A+.

The wife likes to gamble, I play golf, Primm is the perfect destn for us. during the week room {Primm} and golf around $90 or less during the summer and maybe $105 winter. Regular walk on rate for this MGM property is around $145 just for golf. If you stay at a MGM Hotel anywhere you can get nice discounts. Both courses are terrific, we go evey two months or so and I dont care which course, desert or Lakes I get on. The desert is palm trees and the lakes have pine trees. They are not tooo difficult, Mr Fazio wanted all to have a good time, they are in wonderful shape, there is a knock-out practice facility so get there a little early, its worth it. They treat you like royality, way over the top and I like it. Greens are tough, med fast and large and recv shots very nicely. fairways are wide for tee shot, then narrow down for approach,, Both Primm courses are in my all time top 5 for a good time. about 40 minutes from the strip, about the same distance as Pauite.
