Played the Raptor course on Tuesday Feb. 2. Absolutely pristine. The customer service was top-notch. Conditions were a-plus everywhere (including the practice facility) except the bunkers. A bit thin on the sand in the traps. Played with my brother as a twosome and the pace was fine. Challenging without being unfair.

Played 10/31 w/ car6789 2:00 tee time. Finished in the dark on the last 2 holes. Raptor was just a week out from when the pros were here to play in the Fry's Open. The course was in immaculate shape. It was still playing pretty close to how it was in the tournament. Rough was 2 1/2" and thick. Fairways were lush. Bunkers had good sand. Greens were smooth, firm, & fast. Still running close to 12 on the stimp. Definitely need to play a soft high spin ball so you have a chance. Practice facility is first rate. The service and the staff were excellent. Go to the course website and join their e-mail club for their best rates. Submitting some fresh photos.

im not sure why i even write a reveiw on this course cause i just love it its my fav, and i like it so much that my review is kind of bias i think but i dont care this GOLF COURSE RULES and every one should go play it at least once you will have a blast and in the next few months its just going to get better as we get closer to the frys, yeah the pros go low on the course but they cheat the hit the ball like 3million yards of the tee , go play this course form the green tees and have ablast and its still a challange for any one

Played 8/9 with Chilipalmer99, car6789 & his dad. I had a lot of fun playing the same course that the Pro's play in the Fry's Electronic Open. Raptor is a 7135 yard Par 72. Rating 74.1, Slope 143. The course is more challenging than most, but it has four different tee boxes for all levels of play. It was as close to immaculate condition as you can get for the summer. ( See Chili's previous review for a good detailed description of the conditions.) I'll submit the photos I took so everyone can see for themselves. Practice facility is 1st rate. Staff was friendly & helpful. Sign up for their email club if you want to get their special deals. Currently they have one which is $25+tax to play after 11:09a every day until 8/16. Thanks again to car6789 for hooking up the round on one of his favorite courses. It was the Phoenix region's 1st "Play w/ a GK Staffer Day." I hope to do more of them. Chilipalmer99, it was a pleasure meeting you and I hope we can play again.

Ever since I saw Grayhawk on a Golf Channel show earlier this year, I wanted to play this course. How can they make a course THAT green in the middle of the Sonoran Desert?

Isoceles offered me the opportunity to play with him and two of his golfing friends, and I jumped at the chance. There are two courses, Raptor and Talon, with Raptor being the harder of the two. Of course we played Raptor, with Iso's two friends playing from the tips and Iso and I from the "Palo Verde" tees.

This course is easily the hardest I've played, but also very fair. No silly extended desert carries, and generous landing areas, many of which of which require some forethought before swinging away. If you hit it on the green stuff, you pretty much had a great lie. There was some browning now that it's August, but even a shot from that grass still gave a great opportunity to put your club on the ball properly. Accuracy is a premium here with your irons. A slight miss often ended up in one of the deep bunkers guarding the holes or in a collection area beneath them.

The tee boxes are superior to anything I've seen in Phoenix. There were maybe 2-3 slightly dry ones, everything else was in great shape with minimal divot chunks. Greens are, for the most part, very large, but often multi-tiered and required a shot to the right level to have legitimate chance at a one-put. Few ball marks, few dry spots, just a fast and furious putting surface that punished a wayward chip or poorly struck putt. And how about those sand traps? Two words: STAY AWAY! Seriously, the sand in them was as soft as any in the Valley, but man are they deep and treacherous. They killed me today, but that was my fault, not the traps'.

Amenities: great driving range, all you can eat balls, large practice putting green (USE IT!) and chipping area. Service was terrific, cart girl must have come by at least 6 times during our round and everyon else was friendly and helpful. If you want a challenging test of your skills on a superior golf course, Grayhawk is it.

no i mean it i love this track if you can get out to play only once a month this is the place if you are a 0 to 25 you will have fun here. the course keeps the pros on there toes and the 25 hacp having a blast all day the course really helps them keep the ball in bounds but is still a tough track for the pros they can hit the ball in to lots of trouble and the course is in such good shape you are like "oh man im in the bunker "then you see the bunker and your like " man im hiting in here every time " . JUST GO PLAY THIS COURSE ITS THE BEST, the staff is on point and the driving range is the best i loved this place as you can tell hope you have as much fun as i had . CK

Can't go wrong playing here. Conditions make you forget about what you maybe put down to play. Love the par threes. Excellent service.
