Played June 2. Have played here several times over the years. I mostly like the layout and condition has been good. But the last two times here we have been harassed by the ranger. We were playing with a resident of the development who said this happens all the time now that the course is trying to be private. The ranger kept following us and telling us over and over to let some members behind us play through when they catch up. The ranger left at noon, end of shift. The members never caught up. So play here after noon, or better yet play Red Mountain across the street, a much better course.

From the intimidating 1st hole tee shot requiring a long carry over water, to the final putt on 18 (which, if you are putting downhill, will slide at least 6-10 feet past the hole), this course is both challenging and entertaining for golfers of all handicaps. You have six choices from which to tee off, and they smartly have a box at the top of the scorecard that recommends the proper one to use based on handicap. Follow it!

Customer service was wonderful. Everyone at LS was polite, courteous, friendly and helpful. One marshal actually stopped and we chatted about the course for about 5 minutes. Pro shop and starters, everyone was excellent. My only quibble is that there is no cart girl coming by, as she has been replaced by a snack shack (located too soon at the third hole). Excellent driving range, with ball stacked up in those neat pyramids, and take advantage of the putting greens to try and gauge the speed, as these are FAST!

I could rate the fairways as high as I would have as they were being punched, but I still had no issues with my lies, bare patches or divots. Greenside bunkers were perhaps in the best of any course I've played (and I just played TPC Stadium last week), so that is saying something. Fairway bunkers not in as good of shape, but still playable. It's not target gold, as you often have decent sized landing areas, but if you stray, you will pay. Robert Trent Jones is known for his elevated greens, and that is evident all through this course; using one more club is often a better choice than not, depending on the direction and velocity of the wind.

Simply a very enjoyable golf experience. Highly recommended.

Played Las Sendas Sun Apr 8th. I’ve played Las Sendas quite a lot over
the last couple of years. The familiarity doesn’t really overcome the
punishment that this course can dish out. This is a difficult golf
course.

I’ve usually found the conditions at Las Sendas to be excellent, and they were again for the most part. This most recent visit, however, I was in a couple of sand traps that were so fluffy as to be almost unplayable. This hasn’t usually been the case there, so maybe it’ll be a temporary thing.

Where I usually pile on strokes at Las Sendas is by landing in the desert and wash areas. I find it not too difficult to stay out of the desert from the tees, but after teeing off my next shots seem to frequently end up in desert/wash areas; mostly as a result of the many long and difficult approaches I seem to encounter on this course. With many greens nestled close to the desert while also being protected by bunkers, my penchant for shooting at pins is frequently punished here. Maybe some day I'll really commit to playing this course cautiously...

Pace of play is typically well-attended to by the course staff. We got around in 4 hours, and had a healthy cushion in front of us and behind us. The driving range (included with green fee) and putting green are very nice. The chipping and sand practice area is a bit small. One nice thing is that the practice areas are very close to the first tee, so not a lot of time is lost between arrival, warm-up, and teeing off.

There is no cart girl at LS. Instead, there’s a snack bar where #s 2 and 13 cross. That seems to work ok, but plan ahead on hot days; it can take a good 90 mins or more to get from the snack bar to the club house.

Overall, I love playing Las Sendas for the challenge and typically great conditions, but my ego (read scoring) tends to suffer there.

Wow! What a great course! Pristine GREEN conditions combined with a beautifully designed desert course. I can see why this course is ranked as a top Arizona course. GPS was the highest quality LCD screens I have seen anywhere. Staff was great. No beverage cart but 2 snack bars on the course was sufficient. Can't wait to return.

This is the first time I have played this course. It is under new ownership and management and from speaking with some regulars and members the difference in conditioning and pace of play is amazing since the new owners took over. We played with 2 members, and their knowledge of the course was vital . The course really doesn't "lay out" in front of you. There are some hidden washes, bunkers and places "not to go". A couple of the dog legs were difficult from the tee to know which way they went! So they helped with that. A map and/or yardage book would be of great benefit to the first time player. The condition of the course was great, greens were smooth but very very tricky. They were fast especially down grain. There are some very subtle breaks that make a huge difference on the putts----down grain, even slightly downhill --scary, scary!! Some of the greens, and most of the par 3 greens have false fronts so beware of that. The course seems to play fairly long, lots of undulation on the fairways and several uphill shots to the greens. The 17th green is very very tricky and very hard to hit, if you're short a huge bunker in front, that protects the entire green, and if you are long you change going down into the desert waste/bush area. Although the greens were firm they would hold a shot There is a lot of desert and waste area, but you can play out of them if you wish to. Water on a few holes and does come into play. As mentioned a map with yardages would be very helpful for the first time player there - although they may be getting GPS on the carts in the future. 90 degree rule. Got a very good rate ($69 +tax.) on their website, service was very professional, and courteous all round. We enjoyed the course a lot and would play it again.

Course is desert type with homes all around, can be a hard course if you are a little wild. Some holes are set up strange. Still worth the time.

Found course to be as advertised. Rough around the edges, very scenic, and very, very challenging- not a place for beginners- which, unfortunately, did not keep the non golfing, vacationing father and his 10 year old son we got paired with from playing some online, last minute, discount golf on a Saturday morning!

Would not hesitate to play again but there are others in the area that keep Las Sendas off the 'must play' list. Did appreciate the speed/condition of the greens. They had them rolling very nicely at a more than speedy enough pace.
