Played it for the second time on November 23rd. It was cart path only because of recently completed overseeding, although we were told when we booked that that restriction would be lifted by the time we were there. Having said that, Ocitillo is a fairly easy walk if one is inclined to walk all or part of the course. I really like the course however it is NOT a desert style course so if that's what you are looking for don't play it. Course was in pretty good condition, greens are large although they were a bit firm when we played. Fairlways are large. Water on 24 of 27 holes, and it does come into play. Driver off the tee is not always necessary nor wise. Yardage books do come in handy on this course. Played the Blue/White rotation. Have yet to play the Gold course. Staff treat customers very well, pro shop is very well stocked and has decent prices.

I played this course on October 10, 2007 in the midst of overseeding schedule. What I found was completely unexpected! One nine had been overseeded and the other had not and the third was closed. I expectd the overseeded nine to be shaggy on the greens and very slow, but what I found was just the opposite. The greens were very smooth and ran about a 10-11 and were very plush as was the fairways and tees. The unseeded greens were faster and still very smooth. Fairways were very green. They had cut the tee boxes however. I found that both these nines played very even and similar. The course was very green and lush even in transition. My hat is off to the course for maintaining such a high level of excellence during the normally chaotic overseeding time. it is a very eye appealing course and very green. I will be again!!

Played the blue and white 9's. The customer service was excellent with a very friendly staff. This is one of my favorite courses. It takes a little thought when playing and is not just a grip it and rip it course. The condition is not as good as I've seen it in previous outings. Seems to have taken a little beating from the summer monsoon. Also they were doing somekind of maintenance on the aprons for the greens so they were a little rough. There wern't a lot of people on the course so we finished in 3.5 hours.

Best Course in the area in my opinion. Very Plush, challenging, 27 holes so you can mix it up for a change. Price is way to high in the Winter but so are most courses in the Phx area. Summer rates are... Continue »

Best Course in the area in my opinion. Very Plush, challenging, 27 holes so you can mix it up for a change. Price is way to high in the Winter but so are most courses in the Phx area. Summer rates are reasonable if you can take the heat. Service is good, cold "mango towels" are brought around to players in the hotter months. Driving range price is ridiculas, my guess is that this is to discourage people from coming to just practice... and it works. Pace of play is generally slow but this is a great golf course. Employess seem a little "upity" with the "common folk" Az residents but I would guess thats not the case with their out of state visitors staying at the resort. If your in the area, you will not regret playing this course. If your a high handicap bring enough balls, lots of water and rough sometimes can eat them up.

Played the course in late April. It was in immaculate condition, notwithstanding the time of year. Greens were smooth, and fast, but would hold a shot. Played Blue/White rotation, the White course being the more difficult of the 2, however both were fair. Staff were friendly, service was very good.
