Played here a couple of times in the last week or so, most recently on Monday, June 16. Played early because of the heat. There were people going out when I finished so it was getting some business. Service was good. No starter on the 16th but the guy in the pro shop who was hustling to keeping things going including changing the match ups to smooth out the start. $69 including cart and range.

The course is obviously suffering from the heat (108 to 112 the entire time I was there). There were some bare spots in the fairways and on the greens. That said, I had a good surface to hit from generally and the greens rolled pretty good. They were a little slower on the 16th, medium speed, most likely from the watering they were doing as we played. No rough to speak of, most of the bunkers had enough but not abundant sand, and the tee boxes were okay.

Just a fun course to play. I went back the 16th because most of the courses I looked at on the east side of Phoenix had terrible summer reviews, including slow greens. Las Sendas was no perfect but it was better than the courses I was reading about. I also came back because I really like the layout. A little course knowledge helped also.

I'll come back next time I play in the area because I like the course. Hopefully, they get some relief from the extreme heat and the aeration of the greens helps.

Course in nice condition considering it has been over 100 every day recently. Want to think you are young again? Play when it's 112 with a 1-2 club tail wind and watch the ball travel ridiculous distances! Tees lush and very well maintained. Fairways now firm and play fast with a few brown patches here and there. Rough hit and miss, could be thick or thin. You actually want it to be thick to stop balls that otherwise will end up in the cactus w/o it. Sand is excellently maintained. Greens smooth, firm and putt medium speed with few ball marks. Probably only 75-80% of the speed they are in high season. Carts have nice GPS. Customer service excellent from almost everyone on the staff. Excellent range and good restaurant on site. Highly recommended.

Course continues to be in nice condition even with most recent days over 100. Played a couple times this week in fairly calm, uncrowded conditions. Sometimes as practically the only person on the entire 9. Tees and fairways lush and well maintained. Sand near immaculate. Rough mostly clumpy Bermuda mowed low. Lies can vary from looking like it was teed up to sitting down so much advancing it with a longer club is unlikely within a small area. Bermuda greens slower than usual. Firm and medium speed, not as smooth as in high season. Almost no ball marks, putts still roll relatively well. Considering that about 9 months of the year here I am trying to die the ball at the hole to prevent 4-5' coming back, the summer is a difficult transition mentally to putting here. The amount of putts I leave short even though I think I am hitting it plenty hard enough is many every round. Restaurant good for a golf course. Customer service excellent both inside/outside the club. Practice facilities and the GPS on the carts both excellent. Men's lounge nice place to have a meal or get a drink with numerous big screen TV's in a friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Course in nice condition considering it has been in the 90's or 100's every day recently. Tees lush and very well maintained. Fairways now firm and play fast with a few brown patches here and there. Rough hit and miss, could be thick or thin. You actually want it to be thick to stop balls that otherwise will end up in the cactus w/o it. Sand is excellently maintained. Greens have mostly recovered from May punching and are firm and putt medium speed with few ball marks. They will be smooth again in about another week. Carts have nice GPS. Customer service excellent from almost everyone on the staff. Excellent range and good restaurant on site. Highly recommended.

Course continues to be in nice condition even with most days well into the 90's. Played a couple times this week in fairly calm, uncrowded conditions.

I understand that Grandview GC had a new irrigation system installed and removed a few acres of turf to comply with the State of AZ water mandate. You can tell that the water coverage has improved by the condition of the fairways, tees and greens. Good bunkers are fun to hit out of and Grandview GC has that as well! The value you get for your green fee dollar is AWESOME! The staff in the pro-shop was friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. They were fun to interact with during my check-in process. If you are looking for a country club experience you may be a little disappointed, if you are looking for a great practice facility and well conditioned golf course with enough challenging holes to bring the best back out to play, you have found your next favorite hangout. Oh yeah, did I tell you the green fees were very reasonable? They are, Don't book all the tee times 'cause I want to play too!
Enjoy!

We play Orange Tree regularly because it's close to home and I generally like the layout. Because of that, I've been playing it regularly for over 20 years now. Today might have been the last straw with this place. Tee boxes are rock hard. The greens are in VERY poor shape. There is absolutely no relationship between the speed of the practice green at the clubhouse and the greens on the course. Way different. The greens have been horrible for several years now, and somehow the greenskeeping staff can not figure out how to fix the greens. The greens are without a question, the worst of any course in the area. In fact, on two of the holes, Hole 5 and Hole 16, the greens are utterly unplayable. See the attached recent Aerial Photos as evidence. It's much worse in person. There are several rotten, sand filled craters all over these greens, making putting over them absolutely impossible to play legitimately. This course has recently spent money on new golf carts and promoting their bar, but they have utterly failed in their ability to maintain course conditions, especially the greens. As a result, they are charging the same premium rates as other supposedly comparable courses, but you are nearly guaranteed a 2-shot penalty at least for being forced to play those two greens. They are horrific. FURTHERMORE, today, the Ranger drove up on my group as we were approaching the infamous 16th green. He told us that "due to new Orange Tree Policy that was just implemented this week, all golfers must pick up and abandon their games at 7pm regardless of how much sun light is left". We had enough light to play another 3 holes, yet the Ranger (older white haired man), demanded that we stop and terminate our round with two holes to play. In my 50+ years of playing this game, never have I had a Ranger terminate a match when we had 3 holes of light left. Absolutely ridiculous. What a terrible policy by Orange Tree Golf to go along with the overcharging of fees despite the terrible green conditions. The solution is simple, create temporary greens for #5 and #16 and re-build the greens. Instead, they have chosen to rip off their customers for as long as they possibly can, staying silent about their dirty little secret of poor green conditions while they squeeze out as much revenue as they can, all while fully aware of the injustice of charging what they are with the greens in such poor condition. Bottom line is this. Don't waste your money here. The playing conditions are far superior at any of the other nearby courses, Stonecreek, Starfire, Kierland, Biltmore, etc. I have put up with the poor greens for years, but tonight, being kicked off by the Ranger over this new Orange Tree Policy is absolutely deplorable. Paying these fees while knowing that the greens will absolutely cost me at least two strokes is my choice, but if I pay to play 18 holes and there is light available, I should be able to get my full money's worth and finish my round.

The course is still in nice shape for shoulder season. Greens smooth, firm and medium fast. Tees lush and well maintained. Fairways mostly lush with the Bermuda taking over from the winter rye. With many playing downhill, LONG drives are the norm this time of year. Rough mostly clumpy Bermuda which usually produces iffy lies. Sand traps immaculate. Customer service always a ++. Nice restaurant on site. Practice facilities very good. Good GPS on carts on a very spread out, almost unwalkable layout. Highly recommended.

While in Laughlin drove up to Kingman and played Cerbat Cliffs, driving range good, Love the wide open huge fairways driver paradise. Green were un-puttable as large punches were not sanded so we were bouncing the ball towards the holes or away from the holes most of the time. Bunkers around greens were OK, fairway bunkers lots of rocks and little sand. Fairways had good coverage and lies very good. As said, fairway for most of course are WIDE and no houses on most of fairways so being at some elevation drivers were fun and long. Even without any chance on the greens we scored well as course plays shorter than yardage. Very good price for a public course...one sad note gas powered carts that are fast but when you have to drive slow the fumes are bad.
