Back 9 closed for sprinkler renovation. Should reopen in September. Front 9 in summer season condition. Currently the rotation varies with one of the Mountain 9's completing your 18.

Greens nice but slower than usual. Sand traps well maintained with nice quality sand. Tees, fairways and rough all okay, very playable. But all have some weak spots.

Driving range very nice. Customer service usually top notch here but scaled back for the summer with few players out playing daily.

Worth a play with lower fees knowing that half the course is closed and that conditions are 7.5/10 instead of the 9/10 like they would be in prime season.

9 holes scheduled to be closed most of the summer for sprinkler renovation. Open 9 just reopened after spring greens maintenance.

Fun, challenging layout with many fun holes. From tee to green, excellent shoulder season condition. Greens still show the effects of punching/sanding. You fly an iron onto a green and you see sand fly up and the ball will not hold well. Probably at least 10 days out until the greens are fully healed.

Excellent customer service, nice practice facility. Good restaurant onsite. would wait until mid June when the greens will be putting smooth again.

Course continues to be in fine shape, albeit a notch below what it was maybe a month ago. No recent rain and warmer temps have the course dried out again.

Course continues to be in fine shape, albeit a notch below what it was maybe a month ago. No recent rain and warmer temps have the course dried out again.

The back 9 will be closing for 3+ months soon to redo the sprinkler system. Not sure if that is a factor or just what I wrote above. However, putts I was running 3-5' by the hole a few weeks ago are now coming up 2-3' short. They look nice, but they went from medium fast bordering on too fast for recreational golfers to medium slow in about 2 weeks.

Fairways lush and nice to play from, lots of rolls. Good POP rough, you can almost always spot your ball from 50 yards away. Tees very well kept up, lush with few divots and the sand is among the best around here.

Course completely unwalkable because it is so spread out. Nice restaurant, excellent driving range with multiple practice areas. Almost always excellent customer service. Highly recommended.

Played twilight twice this week. Temps in the mid 70's and breezy have dried the course out after all the recent rain.

They always try and get the courses looking and playing their best around "Shootout" time, the Member-Guest tournament which is next week. With the wet winter, the course is definitely lusher than it was last year at this time.

Tees boxes and fairways are immaculate. Fairways cut down and firm, they play like the fairways @ the Masters on TV. Drives rolling, and rolling and rolling. Sand well maintained. Lare greens firm, smooth and medium fast. Rough not overly penal, you can almost always et decent club on the ball.

Snack stand at the turn, full service restaurant inside the Lodge. Driving range very lusg and well maintained. Customer service always top notch here. Highly recommended.

Went out twilight a couple of times this week. POP great, under 3.5H both times and the weather has been in the low 70's. Very pleasant.

Greens putt nicely, firm and quick. You better be a good lag putter on these large greens because you are likely to have many 50-100' putts that would be chips on many courses. And be prepared to play a bunch of break and trust that the slope will die it at the hole.

Course from tee to green is in excellent conditions. Lush and well kept up by the staff.

Excellent layout, fun to play. Rated slightly easier than the Mountain course, but it is far from asy. Nice restaurant on site, staff here is almost always top notch. Recommended.

First round of 2024 delayed a few days by a cold front. Waited until it was calm and low 50's. The Canyon course remains in excellent condition, near immaculate in many areas. Something that is odd to me is that when it gets colder is when the Bermuda greens speed up the most? We are back to the "oh, that was a nice lag putt... hold on... stop... crap , 8' coming back" stage. Greens are firm and putt very nice. Fairways firming up and getting a decent amount of roll again after being soft for nearly 2 months after the overseeding. Great staff, nice GC restaurant and snack shop on site. No drink cart and this is perhaps the most unwalkable course I have ever seen because it is so spread out. Recommended.

Played in 3.5H twilight. The last 7 holes took longer than the first 11 when I caught stacked up 4somes or this could have been a really quick round. Course in great shape, although a recent frost has left numerous yellow spots on many fairways that does not look nearly as good as the wall to wall Emerald green of a few weeks ago. Still plays nice. As Rich stated, the fairways are not currently playing firm and fast with abundant watering for the over seeding. So you not only get mud balls, but huge difference in a drive stopping where it landed and the usual 50 yards of roll out. Greens firm and medium fast. Rarely a completely straight putt here outside of about 3'. Lots of undulations that can start a ball moving in one direction, then cruelly taking it back the other way as it slows and nears many pin positions. Fun Fazio layout. Nice restaurant onsite. Customer Service usually exceptional here. With many snowbirds staying @ Loews Hotel or the Lodge in high season, they make POP an emphasis. And considering how spread out the layouts are and the amount of trouble wayward shots can encounter... it usually moves pretty well. Highly recommended.

With Nick's prodding and his raving review, I changed my plans and played a twilight round here the day before we played the Mountain. This layout was built later and is much more spread out over the vast property. I got lost many times and the ride from the ninth to the tenth made me want to stop and take a nap. I teed off at almost 3, and not knowing what was up ahead of me I raced around and didn't fully appreciate the subtleties of this course. Greens here were even firmer and faster than the mountain course if that's even possible. Maybe slightly less scenic than the mountain but still a great course and a great test. I was truly humbled and can't wait to have another crack at it. Fairways are wide, bunkers are deep, and the greens are large and sloped. Mountain and cacti views abound.

Played slightly better here but that was because I was rushing and was probably generous with gimme's. Plenty of three putts could've been four putts. Other course conditions were similar to the mountain, just perfect. Not many folks out there and ended up playing in 2hrs.
Can't thank Nick enough for his recommendation and his hospitality. Highly recommend.

Have played this course several times lately because it remains surprisingly less than packed considering how mild the weather has been. I saw one other 2some on the entire front 9 playing twilight on a Sunday? Playing conditions are about as good as I have ever seen them here. It seems like the overseeding took better this season than last, very few areas that need attention. Fairways firming up. Greens are firm and quick. Lush everywhere. Worst I can say is that javelinas dug up areas of turf on a couple of tee boxes that are growing in again. Because it is so uncrowded, probably the best course to play right now in southern Az.
