Played 1/27/23 on the newly repaired knee. $35 to walk. POP 3 1/2 hours. Had a threesome ahead of us for six holes. I guess after that they finally got tired of me watching them tee off. After that smooth sailing. Tees still unlevel quite often, but over seeded at they look great. Fairways were scalped. I mean down to the roots and had been plugged with small holes. Rough had pretty good coverage, but also low. Greens were great. Fast and smooth. Several it looked like they were trying to enlarge them and those surfaces had some bare spot. The fringes I hate as the poa is growing so they get real bumpy. Enjoy the course quite a lot and its 15 minutes from the house! Wouldn't drive too far to get here, but its good for me.

SundaleCC, 02/19/22, 9:30am. POP was 4 hours and 15 minutes. Cloudy day in the early holes bu cleared up- temps got up to 72, winds of no more than 10 mph. First time here at Sundale CC. Wasn’t expecting much other than what I was told, small greens, some tight fairways but not all, small greens- a few were, but not all. Lots of healthy trees that lined the fairways all around the course. It was a good layout and thought the course was nice. Their fairways were closely mowed and they have good grass coverage but it isn’t in the best conditions either- yeah, there were a few bare spots also. The rough had grass but not even nor penalizing- not bad. The teeing grounds were okay and had grass coverage but mostly even and good. The bunkers were not the same from one another but mostly firm under the surface of shallow sand covering, a few had more sand than others, even dried out clumped clay on some of the fairways bunkers- sounds bad but it is playable and not terrible- you could still make a decent play if you know this. The greens were the best part of the course. It was smooth and fast- I’m guessing at 10 on the meter. A couple of greens were very undulated, and a couple of them were two tiered and must get on the correct level. All in all, the course is good and I would play it again. Also the course looks simple and straight forward like everything seems to be in front of you, but the way it is set up makes it play longer than it really is. A good drive is a must and any off line position inside the tree line can ruin a chance for a good score. In any case, the course is old school and fair and a lot of fun to play. It’s private, but it’s open for public play after 11:00 on weekends.

Got out Friday afternoon. Coolest day in awhile here. Only got up to 100. $35 to ride. POP 3 1/2 hours waited on a foursome who were really interested in cell phone conversations to look back and see us waiting. Took 6 holes, but they left us go through. New owners are continually making updates. New flooring in the clubhouse. Solar panels over some of the parking lot and new carts! Course overall is quite a bit greener. Lots of tree trimming going on. Course conditions. Same tees with a bit of uneven lies. You can find level spots if you try. Good coverage. Fairways are greener than normal. Lots of areas are thin, but completely playable. One hole had an area of dirt on the edge of the fairway. Rough varies a lot with the thick stuff around the greens. Saw a lot of water being applied to the rough. That was a first for me so thats getting better. Bunkers are okay. Some sand in most while others looked nearly abandoned. Greens were great running med/fast and held well. Little on the moist side, but thats probably needed to keep them alive. One green had a bare spot. With the country club name you would expect better conditions, but you are really getting a muni type course through a housing tract that has some narrow holes and is very flat. Greens are small and those to things make it challenging. Good for a change up and located in the city near my home. Rating came out 5.1 but its probably a six

Played 8/27 at 3pm. $35 twilight with cart. Reasonable rate maybe slightly high. Played as
a threesome let a single and then a twosome go through and still finished in 3:30. Pretty
good as we took my slow poke buddy with us. Tees still a little thin and uneven. Fairways
still have a few thin spots, but nothing bare. Greens were soft. No roll on lofted shots. They are still being invaded by another grass that is thicker and makes them bumpy in places.
Rough is short, but thick in most places. For some reason the ball always settles to the bottom. Bunkers are better. They have steep faces on most. So what they did to them is fill new sand on just the flat bottom. Look good. I was not in one, but based on my playing partners I would say the sand is not very deep. New owners are making a difference. Everything is a little greener, better maintained and they have trimmed a lot of trees. Ponds look better and I saw some painting going on also. They have repaved the pot hole obstacle course of a parking lot also. Things are looking up!

Once we got through a fivesome no one ahead of us until the last hole. Course conditions are improving a lot. Tees have a lot of grass on them now. Fairways a little greener and a
little thicker. Overall pretty good, not great but a big improvement. Rough is seeing similar results. Its still hard pan and weeds way off in squirrel country and there are lots of them (squirrels that is) Was not in a bunker, but still look like they need some work. Crusty looking. Greens are in great shape, just a little slow with some different kind of grass invading. Bermuda or kikuyu? Overall a fine place to play. Average to slightly above average conditions for fairways and roughs. Tees and greens are good. Best its been in sometime. Great for a nice fast challenging round

Quick review. Previous review has a course description. Tees still a little thin overall quite uneven. Fairways are much better, good coverage few thin spots. They are not lush but improved. Rough has a lot more grass after all the rain. Bunkers are very good lots of sand in them. Greens are great medium speed, but very slow uphill. They are true and bump free. Very little sign of ball marks. Medium firmness. Green surrounds have tall very thick grass. POP 3 hours walking at 3pm.

Played 4/30/16. Paid $28 to walk at noon. It is pretty darn flat with the exception of a couple of raised greens and a couple of minor hills. Most holes are quite narrow and tree lined. Some thick some not. Past the tree line is "native" dirt, weeds and junk until the backyards of the homes. Almost every hole is framed by homes. Your are golfing in an older housing development. You have to hit a very poor shot to come near them. The greens are the highlight. They are very small have subtle breaks and can be hard to read. They were medium speed to very slow uphill. They are thick looking and hold well without being soft. Very few ball marks. The green surrounds are over seeded and very tall and thick and because of the small greens you will be in it a lot. The tees have uneven spots all over, but you can find a place to tee it up. They are not lush, but ok. Was not in a bunker somehow, but there are a lot of them around the greens. They looked pretty good overall. Fairways are not good. Sparse coverage. Half dirt half clumps of bermuda.
You will get some undeserved bad lies in the fairways. They are also very dry. Essential to drive the ball straight to score. Good to play occasionally.
