I played here yesterday as the middle of my three rounds and had Johnny add to the database. It's not a course you ever hear much about, but I've played with some locals in the past who said it was a decent track. I got there around 9:30 and got out right away. Once I ran into the pack, I joined with a threesome of really fun guys and we enjoyed a good 3-hour pace. The price was $53 with a cart, which is more than I thought it would be. It's not worth that, especially considering I paid just $6 for my round at the far superior Black Horse earlier. I had seen some GN times in the $30 range, but wasn't able to snag one in advance. This would be a good walking course if you want to save some $$. The course was in pretty solid shape. The greens were excellent. Receptive, smooth and quite quick. My overall rating number might skew a bit high because I gave the greens a 10. Rest of the course is a 6.5. Tee boxes fine. Fairways mostly good. Rough was a mixed bag. Bunkers quite nice with sparkly white sand. There isn't anything too exciting about this course. It's a par-69 and pretty short/easy. Front nine has a nice stretch of holes. Back nine more flat and open, but with some water hazards in play. Solid locals course with military discounts and other frequent play programs, but nothing most traveling golfers need to worry about while visiting Monterey.
