Headed out Sat for a week golf trip. N M and WI. Played here yesterday in beautiful NM weather. Hard to believe how much time (almost 9 years) since last here. Not much has changed in that time, regarding this course. If I lived down here, this would be played as much as possible. Conditions were superb. A great RTJ venue with beautiful views. Great customer service at all levels. When in NM please put this course on your list of play. You will not be disappointed IMO. Playing Sandia today, then off to Whistling Straits.

So, I played on Saturday, 4/1/17. The course was in very good shape for NM spring golf. The greens rolled pretty true at about 9-10 on the stimp. The rough was ~1.5 inches and not too tough. The course itself doesn't play too long but accuracy is a must. I would say it isn't too tight but driver isn't always the right choice off the tee. There are only 3 holes where water is in play, 9 from the tee, 10 on the approach, & 18 off the tee. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The price for locals (not sure for non-locals) is one of the best around especially since they offer a senior rate for those over 55. I think they are planning to aerate around 4/15. The grill is awesome, maybe a little on the greasy side but the green chile is some of the best and I know NM green chile pretty well. I get the breakfast sandwich on Texas toast and my buddies like the green chile cheese burger. Definitely worth playing and eating.

I have played Cochiti 4 times over the last 5 weeks as they are one of the last in the area to punch their greens. It is playing very nice right now with fairly consistent and has smooth greens. The fairways are a little patchy and uneven with some Poa in them, but not bad. The course is a typical desert type course which is not terribly long but can be difficult if you don't know where to aim or if your direction is off. It is a Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed course which a lot of people like. It is out in the middle of nowhere with some great views which is very nice. They are scheduled to aerate on 5/15 I believe, so it will be about 3 weeks before it is back in shape. They are relatively inexpensive especially for walking local seniors over 55 (M-F $32 for 18 holes). It is about half way between ABQ and Santa Fe and worth the trip for the quality of golf for the money.

Played Friday Sept 22 and we were the first ones out. Going to NM to play golf? Do not miss this Robert Trent Jones spectacular course built in 1981. The course conditions were pristine. The grounds crew was out early and every hole we reached had fairway and greens cut and the bunkers in shape. There is nothing bad I could say about this course. From the great customer service inside/outside, to the fabulous conditions and great weather, this was a great way to start a 4 day golf vacation. The course is about 45 minutes to 1 hour N of Albuquerque and one that you do not want to miss. The scenery is fantastic and the course conditions and layout make it one to not miss.

What a great golf course. Not a house in sight, perfect weather and a Robert Trent Jones gem. From the first hole to the last, it is a wonderful course to play. The staff is tremendous and the condition of the course is terrific. Fairways and greens are in top condition, like they were prepared for a tour stop. Do not miss this wonderful golf course if you are in NM.
