played on 4/21, 2nd group off in the AM so it was cold, but nothing unbearable (great weather for someone used to playing in new england). worth getting up for the pace of play, finished in 4 hrs with a 4some.
course deserves the accolades - front is more flat, without a lot of trouble, but some interesting shot values. back is more interesting, though 18th is a bit tricked up for my taste. course doesn't play that long from the blues, approaches were mostly wedges, and there are 3-4 short par 4s that require an iron off the tee. greens were rolling reasonably fast after they started to dry out, and they are challenging - both big and subtle breaks (not a single straight putt all day). some scars from pitchmarks, but not too bad considering how much play this place must get. great value for the dollar, and more or less walkable, back is a bit of a challenge, but doable.

This course was in great condition all over! It is a difficult place to play due to the wind. The course is very similar to Poppy Ridge (Links style course), with very few trees, alot of bunkers and hilly. For golfers within the Bay Area that are looking to play a variety of courses and are not afraid to spend the cash, this is a MUST PLAY! Its about an hour drive from the city and well worth it. Only problem I had with the course is that it took 6 hours to play. I know that most courses in the Bay Area on a weekend tend to have slow play, but this was a bit ridiculous. There was a ranger out on the course and he was very nice, but I think he needed to be a bit more proactive with getting people to play faster. Overall, I rate it a 7 out of 10 and a top 10 course in the Bay Area.

the greens got really beat up this summer. young greens, lot's of play and hot weather... Ouch! Hopfully the cooler weather and the work they're doing now will work it out!!!

Certainly not a course where you can just "whale" away. Requires conservative play tee to green to score well. Generally well-maintained, but can be quite wet in patches even during the summer months.
Staff is friendly enough for a municipal facility.
Hole no. 18 doesn't flow with the rest of the holes as even the lay-up 2nd shot is an extremely tricky one and you could be standing with a long iron for your 3rd into the green. I've played this course about 7-8 times and the sequence has been driver, 6 or 7 iron (to avoid the bunker and find room in the landing area) and then a 5 or 6 iron into the green. This is when there is no SW wind.
