Played today on a scga outing, and the course was fun and absolutely beautiful. The course offers a challeng at every hole, and each hole plays differently. The wind offers the challenge, and defines the play. Course was great, greens were outstanding, fairways firm and well kept. I would recommend the course.

As good as the weather was yesterday, it was bad today ! Not all that cold, but with periods of rain coupled with winds that roared at 30-40mph made for a very difficult day. Scoring was nearly impossible. That said, I had a great time playing and appreciated the "flavor" of the links experience. Not a big fan of the fescue greens however and had a hard time with pace.

Very impressed with the staff at the course. Able to get out first again, so it was only 3 hours of endurance, as opposed to 4-5 hours. Liked this course better than Trails and far better than McDonald

I played Friday, August 9 and teed off at 9:40. To paraphrase Mark Twain, "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer I golfed at Bandon Dunes." Short pants and a golf jacket didn't nearly cut it, for me. So layer-up, even in the middle of summer. As for the course, it is a gem. Beautiful and expansive, the views are magnificent and the holes are constantly challenging at every turn. Course conditions are very good, but very hard. If I had it to do over, I would practice a shallower club entry to the ball. The ground is so hard that my forearms are a little sore from hitting down on iron shots. Still, a fantastic golf experience and a first-rate resort (mosquitoes notwithstanding).

Just returned from playing Bandon Dunes from SAT, April 27th to Tuesday, April 30th.
We were able to get the last April rates before they go up significantly for the summer.
This was recently voted the #1 Golf Resort in America by Golf Digest. It was truly golf mecca. No where else in the US, can you play the #1, #5, #10 and #13 best rated courses all on 1 location.

What a memorable trip! Let me first by saying the pride of ownership is really what separates this golf resort from the rest of the resorts I have been too. Everyone from the caddies, to the bus drivers and staff all truly take pride in their resort. Customer service was A+++, best ever at any golf resort. This resort is for serious walking golfers only. You can't ride any carts to check off any bucket list wishes to play golf, so you weed out a lot of jackasses (they go to Pebble Beach instead). We played Bandon Dunes (#5 best course you can play) the 1st day, Old MacDonald (#10) & Bandon Trails (#13) (back to back) the 2nd day and the 3rd day, we played Pacific Dunes, (#1 rated public course in America according to golf.com).

What an incredible course. Many holes are played right on the ocean or hitting into the ocean. The views are incredible, no homes, no yachts...just golf. Winds were 15 to 20 mph with gust up to 30 mph. The course is in good shape. There will be divots in the fairways and tee boxes. If you are imagining perfectly manicured fairways, this is not your place. Greens were hard and medium speed at 8.5 to 9.5. They look bumpy at first, but they rolled very true. It is really hard to land the ball with any kind of spin. The layout of the holes are incredible. Bunkering is unique as they blend in seemlessly with the terrain. The last 3 holes will really bite you good. The snack shop was well stocked at the turn and very reasonably priced too. This was my #3 favorite course out of the 4.

Bandon Dunes course is always great choice to start your golf vacation. It has little bit of all the other courses so that you can get a feel for the playing the Dunes. Tee box, fairway, and rough are in good shape. Greens are in excellent shape for seaside course and putts very true. I enjoyed this course the most and if you only have 1 round to play, definitely play this one. None of the courses have cart girl so grab a beverage before you tee off. There are vending areas after 7 holes on most courses so you can refill.

Bandon Dunes was just what I expected. It was 2nd best conditioned course out of 4 and had mix of nice view with some interesting holes. There were about 4 holes that seemed very similar. 4th hole was nice surprise when you made it to your ball as everything opened up between the mounds and you could see an awesome ocean view. Greens were fast even during the misty condition. Course is very much a "natural", and you are taken back to old Irish or Scottish links course. Its not manicured but course is set up as rugged terrain of old days. Its like making a cheaper homage to the old historical course without flying to Ireland or Scotland.
