I picked it up thru Dicks for $199, including delivery (UPS). I like it, provides information as to where "unseen" hazards/problems may be. Initial installation on my laptop was a problem, had to install and then uninstall twice, before it finally worked. Downloading courses is/was easy. Battery life is an issue, 2 1/2 rounds max. The really bad thing (in my opinion) is the download and charging connection. Rather than a simple typical USB male/female connection, the part that connects to the unit itself, is a type of "screw in" connection, that can be troublesome/difficult to connect/secure (thus the 3 rating for ease of use). Although I like the system, to be honest, if i had paid full price, and found another unit with an "easier" connection or typical USB connection i would have returned it and bought the other unit. Kinda makes you scratch your head and wonder "why" they would have gone this way. » Close

Sitting at 150 to the Center and 175 to the back has you re think your club and you will get to the back of the green easily. A few pitfalls you will need a new battery for the SG 4 yearly if you play a few times a week. And normally the Unit is good for about 1 1/2 to 2 rounds max. So if your travelling you must bring a few extra items with you. And yes it will differ in yardage with cart GPS systems. » Close

Got an SG4 from my wife for Christmas. I've had the chance to use it twice so far . . both times on courses that had GPS in the carts. I struggled with the download information originally. Had to call tech support to get the unit registered and get help downloading courses. I'm not a computer savvy guy by any stretch of the imagination, so there were some settings in my home computer that had to be changed to allow the SG4 to communicate with my computer. Tech support was very helpful and once those issues were solved the download process was very easy and quick. The first course I played (Canoa Ranch) had some differences in their yardages and the SG4 yardages . . not significant, about 4-9 yards per hole/pin. So I questioned the accuracy of the unit. The next course I played (Az National) was dead-on with the SG4 yardages, so now I have to question those in the CR GPS system. The information provided by the SG4 was fantastic. I stayed out of trouble on several holes because of the "end of fairway" information provided. The SG4 allows me to change views of obstacles ahead which is nice. The only thing lacking (in my opinion) is an entire hole view from the tee box. Maybe it's available and I haven't found it . . but I think not. I really like this unit, and am really looking forward to using it on courses that I haven't played before. I suspect it will keep me out of a lot of trouble there! I can't comment on the price since it was a gift, but if staying out of trouble is worth anything . . it's priceless! » Close
