$27 to walk on a Monday. Managed to get ahead of aeration crews after first hole. Everyone behind us had temporary greens while work crews did their job aerating greens on front 9. Greens for front bumpy and they let grow to take the aeration -- punching holes in grass can be pretty hard on greens. Sanding was pretty heavy. Fairways were thin. Bunkers (saw two) are hard packed. Tee boxes flatish.

Used GK mobile to find out their aeration schedule. Come to find out only at course that they had aerated back 9 the week prior and were doing the front 9 this week. Pace of play quick for 18 holes. Won't be back for several weeks until greens have totally healed.

The Skinny: Greens bumpy. Front 9 before aeration was very bumpy. Ball did manage to roll somewhat true but would hit a patch of blooming poa and knock the ball off course. Back 9 greens more the same and seems to be healing from aeration week previously. Fairways had decent coverage but very thin. Rough cut to same height of fairways so not a problem. Bunkers greenside had decent sand. Fairway bunkers were hard packed. Tee boxes flatish. Not great golf but golf nevertheless.

Played Friday. Course is in decent shape for this time of the year.

Played Friday. Course is in decent shape for this time of the year.
Greens are rolling a bit better than I remember with fewer bumps. Don't get me wrong but the greens are still bumpy but in better shape. Balls tend to break hard at the hole so you have to balance lagging the ball in and jabbing it into the hole.

Fairways in decent shape. Rough is cut thick so it can be penalizing at times. Bunkers are reasonably stocked with sand. I didn't hit a bunker this round but appear to be well stocked. Tee Boxes are flat.

Pace of play was OK for a Friday. We were a 5-some playing behind a walking foursome. They where slow but managed to speed up towards the end. We saw little of the group behind (they started as a twosome but quickly combined into a 4-some walking)

Overall impressed with course conditions. Practice facility is looking better and better. Course is in perhaps the best shape I have seen in quite some time.

Played here yesterday. Pace of play was relatively quick -- just under 4 hours. Was paired with threesome and it was off to the races. Finished the front in 2 hours. Did not catch up to 3some ahead until after 13 and we teed off a little after 1pm.

Greens are in very good shape. There is a little bounce but for the most part rolled fairly truish. Fairways are thin. Rough is cut to the same height of the fairways so a non-issue. Sand in bunkers is a mixed back of sand or lack of sand -- fairway bunker on 3 comes to mind. Tee boxes are in good shape, very flat and well rotated.

You really can't mess up this time of the year. With that in mind if you want to play a wide open course (i.e. no trouble) think of Alondra. It's a definite confidence booster golf course.

Alondra has gotten some benefit from the recent rains. Although the fairways are still thin in some spots, they are improving. The bunkers that I encountered had good, if not excellent sand. The rough was typical Alondra - not difficult. The Tee boxes for the most part were in good shape. The greens continue to be in good to very good shape. Customer service was good and value excellent.

Glad the rains stayed away today at Alondra, but still played a pretty lousy round. Greens are actually in good condition - not even a ton of ball marks today. Fairways could use some of that rain that stayed away, but mostly playable with decent lies. Tee boxes a bit chewed up but room to find a good spot. Rough is no problem and the sand, while not exactly fluffy, does what it's supposed to do.

After two years of playing Westchester (5 minutes from my place), I've made the switch to Alondra for a low cost, regulation 72 alternative. Westchester is fine but for only a few dollars more you get a very playable, full size experience.

It's not a tough course by any means but does pretty much get every club out of the bag. Well worth the $36 greens fee, but an extra $5 for the push cart a bit much. Good fries from the snack shop at the turn!

The course is pretty empty after twilight (after 1pm). Got out at 3pm paid $22.75. Pace of play was pretty quick for the front 9 which is about the only time we had before sunset.

The course is pretty empty after twilight (after 1pm). Got out at 3pm paid $22.75. Pace of play was pretty quick for the front 9 which is about the only time we had before sunset.

Greens on front 9 are in pretty good shape. They roll pretty true and that is significant considering this is Alondra. They aren't known for their course conditions and I have to say the course is in pretty decent shape -- even the greens.

Fairways are patchy but playable. Rough is cut to the same height of the fairways so not really a problem. Tee boxes are flat. Bunkers are hard packed. Ok to spray the ball since there really isn't a lot of trouble to get into here. Just mind the drainage ditches, unlike other courses their drainage is exposed.

Pace of play for front 9, and mileage will vary, was under 2 hours. I even managed to play 5 more holes (bouncing around) before sunset.

All things considered this is a pretty vanilla course. Nothing exciting just golf. If you like chasing the ball on a not so difficult course well this is as easy as it gets. Throw in the pace of play like it was today, well -- Winning!

Play here again? I have to, it's just around the corner :D So next time Six.... do give us a call. Come on by for dinner :D

If I had to give the par-3 course a number, it would be about a 6. I can say what I could see of the main course looked to be in very nice shape for winter!

Even with the holiday, college football and the cold weather (by SoCal standards anyway), I was shocked to see Alondra so uncrowded. I mean, the 1st tee of the main course was wide open at 9:00am!!! Likewise, there were only a few of us out on the short course. I walked right out, paid my $17.25 and enjoyed my own quick pace. I did jump around a little at one point to avoid a twosome ahead of me, but that was easy to do with the course wide open.

The course was in pretty solid overall shape. Some of the tee mats were still a bit frozen, but no biggie. The greens were in very good shape. I did notice a couple ugly spots on a few of them, but for the most part they were great. Everywhere else was hit or miss, but more good than bad, especially for winter.

Pretty basic little par-3 course (18 holes) with holes ranging from 97 up to 180 yards, so you will get to use a variety of clubs. Tiny greens and some overhanging trees in play on a few holes to provide a little extra challenge at times.

Finally got back to Alondra and was one bad hole (4 over on 16) from breaking 90 for first time ever. What that says about this course is that it's not terribly difficult or challenging, but it is a good spot for us newbs to build some confidence.

Fairways are a mixed bag of grass, mud and bare spots, but not so bad as to be unplayable. Rough is also mixed, but generally in good shape. Tee boxes were pretty good, but must say the current highlight is the greens. Really nice shape, rolling true - not too fast, but not too slow. A few scars here and there but overall top job on the greens for an LA Muni.

Price was $36.50, plus $5 for a push cart. Not much elevation on the course but lots of ravines and tributaries to get you in trouble. Not sure conditions will ever get much better than this based on reputation so keep that in mind if deciding you want to play here.

Shooting 90 made it probably give me a better impression than the reality, but you'll have to see for yourself.

Played yesterday. Greens are perhaps the best I have EVER seen in quite some time. A little slow for my liking but rolled pretty true. Some holes however have bare spots and I suspect someone even took a divot on a green on 11. Fairways are thinnish with a few bare spots here and there. Rough is literally non-existent. It's cut to the same level of the fairways so no real problem. Conditions of sand in bunkers vary. They are a little hard packed to loose fill sand. Tee boxes are flat and rotated well. Overall conditions are the best I have seen for this course in over 3/4 years. I am not talking spectacular golf conditions you come to expect from the higher end daily fee courses, just better conditions than what I have seen from this particular course. There are other choices in the area but for what it is, I am impressed. It's not the best and certainly not the worse I have seen, just better than what I normally expect from this course. POP was a slow one, 4 1/2 hours if I recall. We were stuck in front of a fivesome that dallied (they were consistently a hole behind). A few things I should mention. 1. I like this edit feature. I can amend my own review for little sage tidbits I forgot to mention earlier. 2. The course marshall has a dirty job. He has pleasure of approaching groups and telling them to speed up. Now folks take his "advise" several ways. One way is to accept the information and try to speed play. Another is to ignore him. And finally another is to act hostile towards him. Hey he is just doing his job. Be at least respectful to him. I was in such a situation today. I was on 10 waiting for the group to finish and walk off. I saw them move towards the next tee or so I thought and I proceed to hit my ball. I knew where they parked their carts it was in my landing zone for a missed shot and sure enough I miss my shot. Now I look down the fairway and I see a lone golfer RE-chipping back onto the green. I SCREAM "Four." Guy ignores me as my ball lands feet from him. I see the marshall and I tell him you know I nearly hit that guy. Try to get them to at least move a little more quicker and be a lot more safer in their actions. He walks over and asks them to speed play. All he gets is an earful (they were practically screaming at the marshall) "I know. I know." LOL. He looks at me shrugs and then drives off. Mileage will of course vary. Will I play here again? Sure. If they continue to maintain the course this way... you betcha.
