First off and finished in 2.5 H. Course is in better shape this week, than my last time here (7/5). But the fairways were very wet, too wet, IMO. They provided good/decent lies, but there are brown/thin areas, in some of the fairways. Thus, no roll at all. Bunkers were all clean/playable (maintenance cleaning them this AM). There are areas of rough, but it is playable. Greens were very good and all chipped/putted with good speed, all round. Tee boxes all clean and playable. Excellent customer service at check in.

Out on the Babe as a 3-ball, 8AM Friday morning, with a 4:15 PoP. $44 riding green fee, great deal. The Good: greens rolled medium speed and true. Very few un-repaired ball marks, too. Nice. Berm... Continue »

Out on the Babe as a 3-ball, 8AM Friday morning, with a 4:15 PoP. $44 riding green fee, great deal. The Good: greens rolled medium speed and true. Very few un-repaired ball marks, too. Nice. Bermuda fairways were decent to very good, again, nice. New golf carts with ice chests and bottle of water. Did I mention a 4:15 PoP? The Bad: lot's of unfilled divots in fairways, especially the landing areas. Pity peeps don't use the sand/seed bottles on every cart. Cart paths are bumpy ... needs repairs. The Ugly: bunkers, especially the GS bunkers. Like real bad. Yes, ugly. Sweet deal still going on at IH, Babe. Take advantage before it's gone. Recommended.

Today, early out early finish. Tee boxes were fine. Bunkers were fine and being worked on. Fairways were all wet (no roll, lies just OK) and are being heavily watered, due to summer heat. You can see a lot of fairways with many unfilled divots. You can also see the browning of the fairways beginning, despite the amount of water being used. Rough was thick and penal, in all areas. Yes they have all new carts, but IMO, not as nice as what they had? Greens were soft, but putted very nicely. Customer check in excellent. Course is getting a lot of play, due to the $44 special. Management is trying to keep the course in good shape, but IMO, customers are not cooperating.

Played the Babe on Saturday for my monthly Flex Tour round along with Kassper7 and my FT buddies Tommy and Jason. It was an absolutely beautiful summer day with temps getting up to the low 90s. We had an 8:20 tee time and rode in carts because there are some long walks at IH that would make walking a real time consumer. Do they even allow walkers?

Anyway, one thing before getting to course conditions. While Industry Hills is a wonderful 36-hole facility with some of the best public golf in SoCal, the organization pre-tee off is a bit haphazard. You have to take a shuttle down to the range but you can't buy range balls when signing in with the starter. Cash only. What? Okay, but it's probably a good idea in the future to simply go straight to the range, and then take the shuttle back up to the starter. They won't let you get carts first and take them to the range. It's all a bit 'odd.' But anyway …

Course is in very nice shape right now from tee to green. It's not a 10 all around for sure, but you're going to have a hard time finding a lot to gripe about. Tee boxes (we played the blues which is a big difference from the whites!) were in mostly good shape with flat spots and good coverage. The bunkers looked okay but I only found one all day and it was of the fairway variety. Fairways had nice coverage, and the rough was not too penal at all. There were a few thin spots on every hole, but overall good shots would find nice coverage.

Putting was an adventure because the greens at the Babe have so many undulations and tiers. There was some ridiculous pin placement going on though, most notably the top, tiny shelf on the 11th hole that was smaller than a Smart Car and saw every ball just roll right off onto the apron. But the speeds were not overly fast - maybe 10 to 10.5 at best, but still very tough with all the other factors. Coverage was good though and they held shots well.

In terms of layout, the Babe kind of requires the best of your game. It's narrow as can be on many holes, so you can get in trouble quick. From the blues at least though, you're going to need distance as well. There are no easily reachable par 5s here and there's a 260 yard par 3 on the front nine that's a bit nasty. It opens up a bit more with the back nine holes, but by then the damage has likely been done. Just know that this is definitely a course where you don't have to feel bad about playing the whites if you're a double-digit handicap.

Cart service was seen early and often throughout the day, so that was good. Price was $84 which was more or less justified for the quality of the course you're playing, but you can definitely find better midweek deals and I think they're even doing a Sunday special for just $64. That's a great deal. But yeah, overall you're going to have a find day if you spend your four hours at the Babe anytime soon.

Played this AM in 3 H. Very quite when we teed off, but very busy when we finished, but most of the play was on Ike (Mega Monday). Course seemed a little beat up? Maybe a combination of tournaments/overplay? Perhaps getting hot in the PM (lot of water was being applied). Many of the tee boxes were in terrible shape? Many unfilled divots in many fairways. Traps were all rock hard, though maintenance was working on them. At least the greens were in good shape. Rough was high and penal. Customer service at check in was great.

Played Industry Hills (The Babe) course Saturday in a tournament. Overall the course was in great shape except the greens and the bunkers. I know that The Ike is their money maker and they pay more attention to that track but boy, the greens on the babe were terrible IMO... the guys in my group agreed as well. Ball marks everywhere and poorly repaired. They were rolling pretty slow from what I've experienced in the past. I've been playing here for a really long time and they've seen better days. Also the bunkers were terrible. Hardly any sand in them and quite a few rocks were present. They were very hard to get out of throughout the day as we all ended up in 1 or 2 in our round. I'm very disappointed in the condition of this course at the moment. I've played this course at times in the past and it was immaculate. They're running a 44 dollar special right now due to some anniversary thing they got going on so you can't beat the price and maybe that's why as it's getting a ton of play. Just feel they need to step it up and nurture the track a little bit. Other than these issues the rest of the course was great. Fairways and tee boxes were nice. Cart girl was present all day as well which was good. Never have I had this issue on the Ike....

Many of the greens had standing water on them and puddles around the pins? No way to treat customers IMO. Totally unprofessional. Tee boxes were fine. Fairways had good lies (though some thin areas are beginning to show) and roll. Traps were all fine and playable. Greens rolled fine (those w/o water on them). Customer service excellent as usual, at check in.

Out today for our weekly round. Best $44 value in S CA, IMO. POP was right on 3 H. Greens today were great. Held shots, released shots, chipped great, putted fast. Fairways were rolling faster this week. Customer service it's usual great service at all levels. Nice to finally play a round in total sunshine, after our recent May weather.

Played the Babe course 5/26/18 with a 10:40 am tee time for $64 each. Went out with one friend and they let us tee off 15 minutes early. I can now say I have a love/hate relationship with this course.... Continue »

Played the Babe course 5/26/18 with a 10:40 am tee time for $64 each. Went out with one friend and they let us tee off 15 minutes early. I can now say I have a love/hate relationship with this course. I love the beauty and how manicured the course is but I hate how narrow the tee shots are. For whatever reason, this course plays so difficult for me from the blues. I believe it to be one of the most challenging courses in the area. Now to conditions....
Greens- Perfect 10/10 no ball marks and held the balls well all while rolling true
Fairways- Green and lush but a little thin in some areas. No dry spots on this course at all though.
Rough- Perfect and green, didnt catch the club too much when swinging through it.
Tee Boxes- Great 8/10. A little damage here and there but nothing to where you couldn't find a level spot.
Sand- new white sand in some traps and old rocky brown sand in others.... only part of the course they could improve on.
Water- clean and clear
Staff- Friendly, courteous and kind. Saw the cart girl twice. Drink prices were a little high though $34 for a six pack of domestics is really steep. Almost $6 a beer ?
