Played today in POP of 3 H. Course is in great shape this week. Tee boxes were all perfect (IMO); fairways are browning out (kikyu grass) but still decent lies and great roll; some rough outside of fairways and around greens, is sticky; bunkers are all good; greens are rolling just great (all of them). Customer service was excellent at all levels.

The more I play here, the more I enjoy this course. If I can get past # 5 close to even, I seem to be able to handle the remaining holes reasonably well. Totally agree with prior review by 24hourgo... Continue »

The more I play here, the more I enjoy this course. If I can get past # 5 close to even, I seem to be able to handle the remaining holes reasonably well. Totally agree with prior review by 24hourgolf, conditions are as good as they've been out here. Greens and fringe areas being the best. Nothing to complain about as to conditioning.

Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Never seem to have a problem getting out early and providing you're out in the first 1/2 hour of daylight, pace of play is always quick.

Back today in an unbelievable POP of 3 H (wow). Very cold (48 F) when we teed off, but warmed up quickly. Course was in great shape, once again. All tee boxes excellent. Fairways were clean and providing wonderful lies (even the brown areas) and great roll out. Traps were all clean and very playable. Some rough around many greens, outside of fairways and parallel fairways, that was wet and sticky. Greens were just great. Chipped and putted terrific all round. Great customer service at all levels. Terrific conditions and hope they stay that way for the winter months.

Played Monday in a great POP of 3 H. Played the previous week in the PM and glad I made the choice to play here, only in the AM. I found the tee boxes in much better shape this week; also the sand traps were much more playable/cleaner; fairways are browning out, due to the time of year, but are still very playable; greens were even better this week, than last. And customer service was great this week. Restaurant service is excellent (thanks Manny).

Played today in a "slow" 4:15 which could have been under 4 hours. But once again, here is another course too lazy/cheap (really what does a marshal cost - 0) to provide a marshal? Personally, I will never play here again, unless it is in the morning with a good preferred tee time. Tee boxes were hit and miss, as some were in good shape, others beat up; sand traps were terrible at every hole; fairways are browning out, but provided "some" decent lies and good roll; greens were the best part of the course, as they were in good shape and chipped/putted (fast) well all round. Not especially thrilled with customer service today? Play here early, or plan for a slow round.

Played this course the other day (10/31/17) and was amazed on how nice the overall course was. The tee boxes on most of the course were very well kept. Fairways are narrow but when you hit that sweet spot and land in the middle, your setup perfect for the next shot.

Beautiful decent size lakes/ponds. The greens are very well kept on almost all the holes. Some holes have the "broccoli" affect.

A little on the pricy side, but look for deals in order to really enjoy and think your playing for free.

Overall a difficult course to play, with narrow fairways on majority of the course and multiple water hazards but the tee boxes, fairways, bunkers and greens are in good condition.

Out early Friday AM at Rio Hondo, a walking four-ball. Course in decent Fall condition right now, Bermuda turning colors but good lies everywhere even in the Kikuyu rough. A few GUR areas properly marked (good to see). Greens were a bit soft post aeration and a tad slower than I've seen in the past here, just need a good mow. We were rolling lot's of putts just on the short side. They did hold approach shots like Velcro. I was in two GS bunkers which were raked and well maintained as was the FW bunker I played from on #3. Can always count on the Hondo for consistent greens and maintenance. Should play here more often. Not a difficult course but the mature, tree lined fairways can reek havoc if you're not accurate off the tee. PoP was a few minutes shy of 4 hrs. Recommended.

Tee'd off around noon. Single paired with a 3some. POP was a great 4 hours. Course is in good Fall condition. A little brown here and there, but mostly lush.
Tee boxes were well maintained, with just minor divot damage. Some were a little thin, but still very playable.
Rough was not too penalizing, and good to play from.
Like I mentioned before, fairways were good Fall condition. Great roll out, still enough turf around, lush in some spots.
All bunkers were well maintained with soft sand.
Greens were pretty good. I think they punched about 2 weeks ago. Med-fast, a tad bumpy, but held its line. Should be good for the foreseeable future.
Highly recommend.

Played yesterday in a nice POP of 3 H. Greens have recovered nicely from aeration, though they did seem to be a little soft, when receiving shots. Fairways were mowed and cleaned, which allowed the ball to roll out nicely on drives. Tee boxes were all fine, saw/found no issues. Very little rough to speak of and what there is, was playable. Customer service excellent at all levels. Well kept course, with reasonable green fees.
