PLAYED 4/16 TEED OFF AT 7AM PLAYED THE FRONT 9 IN 2 HOURS NEVER HAD TO WAIT TO HIT A SHOT. WHEN WE GOT TO 10 THE STARTER PUT A 5SM IN BETWEEN US AND THE 4SM THAT WAS IN FRONT OF US 1 PLAYER RIDING AND 4 WALKING AND THEY ONLY HAD 3 SETS OF CLUBS. SO THE BACK NINE TURNED INTO A 3+ HOUR NIGHTMARE. WHEN I ASKED THE STARTED HE DIDN'T ANYTHING TO SAY HE JUST PLAYED THE &ssh*le CARD. BESIDES THAT THE COURSE WAS IN GREAT SHAPE.

Tee off at 9 am and finished around 2:30 pm. Slow but really nice greens. Sands in the bunkers are superb. This is my home course. I played at least 2 to 3 time a month here. We got rain on in the early morning, but it stop after 15 min. We'll be back !

Tee off around 11:45 am, after waited for 3 hrs for the rain to subside on Monday, April 5th. Glad that we did, turn out to be a beautiful afternoon. Green were soft and slow. Fairway weren't too bad. We were the 2nd group out and finished the 18th around 4:30 pm. Enough time to get a bite and watch the NCAA final.

Tee off round 1 pm on 3/23. Fairways and Greens are in perfect conditions. Greens are a little slow. Finished around 6 pm. Loving it !

Played 3/20 as a walk on single. Arrived at 6:45 and on the course by 7:15 with a threesome. Great pace of play for a Saturday morning. Finished in 4 hours on the dot. Course in good shape generally speaking. I would like to comment on some of the bunker work done on this course. Every existing bunker seems to have been renovated. There is a lot of new sand put into them and it's very heavy at the moment leading to some plugged lies and tough explosion shots. This will ease over time though as they get more play. It also seems that most bunkers have been shallowed out. This disappoints me because I always enjoyed some of the classic, deep bunkers on this course that fit perfectly with the scottish-inspired design elements. However, the shallower bunkers will play easier over time and are probably easier to maintain than the deep variety, so pace of play and maintenance should improve. There are also some new bunkers that I noticed. The best of these are on #3, the long par 5. There is now a bunker on the right side off the tee that could come in play for a medium hitter. There is another bunker in the layup area which used to be miles wide. A large ridge runs diagonally from about 130 yards out on the left side of the fairway to 80 yards out on the right side. A bunker is now in the middle of the fairway cut into this ridge about a 100 yards out. Golfers hitting their layup can now choose to hit to the wider left side but face a tougher approach due to decreased visibility or hilly lie because of the ridge. They also must carry a greenside bunker on the approach from the left. Golfers also have a choice to challenge this new fairway bunker and hit to the right side of the layup area or over the bunker. If successful, they will be rewarded with a shorter approach with a better angle free of greenside bunkers. Brilliant change to this hole. There is also a new fairway bunker on the left side of #9 that I liked. It should be easy to carry but it may steer golfers further to the right on this hole where they will have a longer approach. 3 new bunkers were added to the fairway left on #10, but they shouldn't come into play off the tee. Those are the only new ones I noticed, but I could have missed some when I was off the beaten path on a hole. All in all, I liked the fact that the changes were minor because this is a very good layout as it is. Give the new traps some time to settle before making final judgements.

Fun course to walk, but weekends can get a little slow. Right now its in good condition and very enjoyable. Greens hold shots pretty well and fairways generally are good overall. Rough can use some work to be consistent. Fairways are all side by side, so expect to have people in your fairways trying to get back on to them. No real trouble of losing your ball except maybe in one spot, but generally even hackers can get by with just 1 ball :)

Pace wasn't fast, but not that slow either. From tee to green I'd say it is in good condition, with the unrepaired divots here and there.

I have been playing this course since 1970, althought only about an average of once per year. I have come to appreciate just what a wonderful design this course has. Now one of my favorite "traditional" courses. Recently the overall condition of the course has greatly improved from what it was in the 70's & 80's. My only complaint is how slow it plays now. (Different make up of golfers now!) Wish this course was located in Orange County ..... no, then it would cost $100 to play, so leave it where it's at!

It's been a while since I played out here and man-o-man has it gone down hill. The greens are recovering from punching but there are many bad patchy spots and people still refuse to fix ball marks. I played with a threesome that I saw actually step over, on and around them but never once in 18 holes did they actually fix one. When I mentioned it on several occations they just smiled and chuckled.
The tee boxes are really thin and some had no grass at all in areas. The fairways were ok in spots but not at all that great even for an often played muni.
Overall the course has always been a nice layout that is wide open and fairly easy to play and for $25 walking it's hard to complain but it could be in much, much better condition. While I understand it's the end of summer and the water issues being what they are the simple fact that players are not doing what they can to help out not only the course, the game, each other and even themselves by filling divots in fairways and tee boxes and fixing ball marks on the greens is completely unacceptable to me. Sorry for preaching but it doesnt take much effort to respect the game we play and the field we play it on.
