I played here last weekend, made the long drive from Corona. Never played here before but always wanted to. Wow, what a fantastic course. You local guys are lucky. I loved this place. The lines coming into the greens are exceptional, and the shape and movement of the greens is outstanding. I can't believe one gets this much course for so little $$. I hit every club in my bag and while the course plays extremely short, it demands your full attention. Stout par 3's and a great mix of short and long par 4's. The condition of the course was very, very good and the cart girl came around often. Pace was a tad slow, but didn't bother me at all. Overall, I'm very happy I played here and wish it was a lot closer.

Played here 6/1/09 and I really cannot remember this course being in any better condition. Greens were a little on the slow side but the rolled true. Tee boxes and fairways were in exellent shape. Only complaint my group had was with a couple of the traps being a little thin. Taught Xavier92264 a good lesson after he ran his mouth after his "once a year" defeat of myself our last time out. I cannot think of a better value than this place right now.

This has been my home course for over 5 years now. There are times when the course makes me happy and when it makes me pretty angry. But that's usually with my game. Other than that, the course is fairly always in good shape. Not only do the workers take care of it, but it's well maintained by the players as well. Divots are replaced and ball marks are repaired.

The only issue I normally have with this course though is that the pace of play is pretty slow at times. It's a longer course so I can understand why, but there are times when there are three to four groups backed up on the par-3 fourth.

Got out this afternoon (at) 2:15. Missed twilight rates (3:00pm), but went out as a single with two holes open in front of me. There seemed to be a twighlight rush out on the course somewhere behind me, but I wass urprised to find myself in a nice buffer zone. As far as the complaints of the previous posts, I wasn't in a bunker all day so I can't address that, but have found some of them thin in the past. As far as yardage makers, there are red 100, white 150, and blue 200 yd plate markers -- in some cases supplemented with color-coordinated, above ground cube shaped markers. No marked sprinkler heads but, personally, I am completely fine with those three basic distance markers and pacing off the in-between yardages myself. Not sure what the previous poster's requirements are. In every other respect, I thought the course was in excellent condition for a muni. Nice grass coverage in the tee boxes. The few that weren't perfectly level weren't off by much. Fairways as good as I've seen them for healthy coverage that tended to set the ball up -- don't recall a thin lie all day. Greens were in nice shape, ran true at a medium fast pace. Not many ball marks and no bumpiness to speak of. As nice a conditions as I've ever found it playing here. Got around in four hours at $25 to walk. What's not to like?

Played the course 5/2/09 for the very first time. Highly disappointed based off the various reviews posted about the course. The course bunkers were "thin" on certain holes, lacking sand at times. The putting surface are still recovering from the aerations that was done. Could not hold the line I was looking at. ALOT of bumps, turns/twisting, "could be" due to the aeration holes. Biggest disappointing finding is that the course has no yardage markers other than the 200 yds blue markers and the 150 yrd markers. The Pro Shop offers a Yardage book, but at an unreasonably high cost, not worth it. So basically you are at the mericy of "your" own best "guesstimate" for yardage. Will not be coming back to the course, nor would I recommend it to others.

Played early this morning and finished pretty early for this course. Under 4 hours. You could always count on this course to be in good shape and today was no exception. My biggest complaint is with the bunkers which play more like waste areas because of their lack of sand. Lies are very thin which means lots of skulls/fliers out of them. Greens were fine shape. Foursome had a good time. I always considered Santa Anita to be one of the best values in the area.

Played Santa Anita morning of 2/8/09. Rained off and on but the course held up OK - the pushed up greens were still firm. This is a great track for the money and has a lot of classic design elements that you don't often see in a muni. The fairways are wide but you have to think about your approach shots or else risk a tricky chip. Always a fun round.

..oh, forgot to say.... the traps are reeeeeeally bad. I'm surprised, because the rest of the course is fine.
