Played Black Gold and was disappointed in the firm nature of the greens. The greens were fine for putting but good short and long iron shots were not rewarded. Hit a several lob wedges next to the pin but had 20 foot putts. The green fees are high for what you get.

A beautiful course in Yorba Linda w/greens that did NOT stick and VERY unpredictable. Greens were also VERY tough to read but I'll take that as part of the challenge. I hit the green pin high and the ball would still roll 50 feet to the back of the green or OFF the green. Some fairways had sand (hole 17) throughout the fairway and grass was peeking through?? Also, bunkers were mushy and wet. Great scenery throughout almost every hole as it's almost a 1/4 mile between holes. Course could be cheaper to make it more affordable.

Great course cut into the foothills of Yorba Linda. Dramatic elevation changes but no forced carries makes it playable for all. Not a grip it and rip it course, as trouble lurks everywhere. Target golf at its finest! Stay out of the Tar Pits Errrr.... Sand traps as they are soggy and the only blemish on this course!

Nice course but....I'm not sure where all the people play that think this is a great value. Played many courses in the $50 - 60 range that are just as nice if not better. Trilogy (near Glen Ivy), Oak Quarry (Fontana), Sierra Lakes (Fontana), Palmers course (Rancho Cucamonga) are a few that come to mind. Definately a nice course but the greens were pretty slow and like I said there are better courses within 20-30 minutes as far as value goes. Greens are also misleading as there are a lot of valleys throughout the course. Overall I'd give this course a 7. Would be higher if the fees were about $20.00 cheaper. Oh yea one other thing, all of the "environmental" areas are a pain as well. Just about every fairway has these along both sides so if you're not a 10 handicap bring plenty of balls you'll need em.

Great course. The views were great. It is a difficult one, but I managed and 80. Just keep the ball in the short grass. Carts w/GPS were great. They give exact yardages and pro tips. Will be back soon... Continue »

What a beautiful layout. Play there the first time. Golf course layout is around the mountain. Fairway is lush. Greens run smooth. Service is great. Would come back for sure. Pace of play was a little bit slow, but it is understandble considering how hard the course is.. Aim dead center and should be okay do not have to hit it far...just center aim. Greens hold well.
