This golf course is in great shape. Very lush fairways and tee boxes and with rough as long as 5 inches or more, it makes this course very tough. The front nine does not has many elevation changes compared to the back nine. Five different sets of tees make this golf course very playable for all levels of golfers. Purchase the red dot golf discount book to get 50% off the green fees and experience one of the better maintained golf course in Yorba Linda. If you like Lost Canyons and Tierra Rejada, Black Gold is the other golf course for you.

Worth every dollar. The course is in amazing condition. The players and staff have a lot of respect for the course. Stay on the fairways! The rough is very thick. I will be back for sure.

Played this course for the first time 2/28/04 payed full price and it was worth every penny. The course was in great shape considering the heavy rain that it got two days before. The course was perfectly manicured. The greens were soft but rolled true and the speed of the greens were perfect. Great tee boxes and fairways. Everybody on the staff who we delt with were great. I will be going back for sure.

I expected a little more from this golf course. The conditions were great, but the views were not as good as advertised. It's definently not worth regular price. You gotta use a coupon. I think it's worth 40 bucks. The food at the Clubhouse really stunk...I would rather eat at Jack in the Box.

Great layout, every hole is interesting. Greens are difficult w/ multitiered designs and severe drop-offs should you miss the approach shot to the wrong side. I recommend buying the excellent yardage booklet to help you navigate, but it will likely take a 2nd round for me to play this course well. The greens are being fertilized at present, so expect to aggregate lots of little white specs on your ball and putter. Greens retain foot prints pretty easily too, so expect and few hops on those longer putts. Particularly annoying are some severe track marks or tire trails in the greenside rough, sometimes as deep as 6 inches. Groundskeeper should at least rope these areas off as ground under repair. I had to take several 'unplayable lie' penalties when a course in better condition would've given me a chance to test my short game after missing the greens by just a few yds.

Loved the layout, as every hole is varied and memorable w/ lots of elevation and nice views, but they could pay better attention to the maintainance of the course.

All in all, a good place to play from time to time, but I would not make it my home course b/c of the lackluster conditions.
