Course is short but still has enough to make it interesting. Greens were aerated a couple of weeks ago and were still somewhat bumpy. Fairways were thin in a few spots but overall this course and Los Lagos are in good shape for the money. Only complaint was staff on Sunday who had trouble getting groups started and despite slow play we never saw a marshall all day.

Despite being aerated this past week, the greens were in good shape, running a little slower and softer than normal. These greens are tough with a lot of undulation. It makes up for the shortness of the course. I played 36 holes on Friday and each round was just around 4 hours. This is a great place to work the game. It's not long, but has some 90 degree dog-legs where you can't always use the driver. Some short par 5's make it fun going for the greens in 2. At $20 during the week, it's the best bargin.

I have no complaints about the tees and most of the fairways BUT the staff do need to put more sand in the bunkers. They are hard and mostly dirt.

Greens were so mushy that chip shots would hardly roll. You can see by all the maintenance workers on the course that they are trying hard to keep the greens and fairways in good shape, but to have maintenance workers standing on the greens watering, etc., while you are trying to hit approach shots is disconcerting. And they take their time and they don't move until they're done. Bare spots in landing areas could use some attention too! Sand traps are a nice mixture of brown dirt and hardpan. They could really use a few truckloads of sand. Practice area and practice putting greens were really nice though.

After years of always playing Los Lagos and avoiding this "little" course, I finally broke down and played it. What a mistake, not the course, but the fact that I waited all these years to discover this little gem. It was fun! Not a hard course by any means, but enough of a challenge and diverse enough in character to make it a pleasant day of golf - a nice break from playing all those 440+ yard par 4's and 7000 yd tracks. (Getting too old for them anyway, and it's nice to have a shot a subpar rounds again) While I won't make a steady diet of this course, i will return!

This course along with Los Lagos is almost always in very nice playing conditions. If I were a Costa Mesa resident, I would play here 2-3 times a week as they get almost 50% off of green and cart fees... Continue »

My only complaint is that if you ride and get stuck with a group of walkers, they charge you $14 instead of $12 and act like there doing you a huge favor.
I don't mind not getting a senior rate but the cart issue rubs me the wrong way. Wish I could walk a full 18 and they I would have no complaints.

Played this course at least 8 times this month and the course gets better each time. The greens are superb and the fairways are much better now. Well done, Greenkeeper.
