I played on 4/30/12 with my dad for his birthday. In truth, the last time i played here teh course was not worth the greens fee. Well...this place was in amazing shape. I wish hte greens would have been a little faster but they were consistent from gren to green and the ball rolled pretty true until the ball starts to slow down.

The fairways were lush for the most part. There were a few bare spots where you can tell the course wasnt draining well but othe than that, almost all of the landing aras in the fairways were pure.

I only made one trip to a green side bunker and it too was in great shape. It had sufficient sand in the bunker and it was actual sand, not the course stuff more often found in a school playground. The 1 fairiway bunker i was in also had good sand in it.

The tee boxes were in really good shape. I saw no bare spots and most of the tee boxes were level between the markers and within 2 club lengths. They also did a good job of lining the tee markers up towards teh target, not all sideways like some courses do.

The customer service was really good. they were courteous, helpful and generally friendly. I have no complaints.

I will certainly put this course in the "playable" list for when i have out of town guests. Well done Strawberry Farms team!

Played late February.
Like its overpriced Orange County counter-parts (Tustin Ranch & Oak Creek). A nice course with a fair layout but no where near worth the money they charge. Fairways were dormant (which I won't judge), Greens were in very good shape. I will certainly play it again but will be searching for the deals when doing so.

Played Super Twilight on Thursday, 3/22/12. SF continues to open up and remove a lot of the heavy vegetation around tees, greens, and hazards that in the past resulted in the course always playing 'soft' - now everything has firmed up and the wind and sun are much more factors in determining conditions. Fairways are thin and there are some bare and patched spots, consistent with winter, but tees, greens, and sand are all in very good condition. Friendly staff. Recommended.

I played the Irvine double-dip today, playing Oak Creek in the morning and Strawberry Farms in the afternoon. Of the two, Strawberry is the winner!

I got out to the course around 12:30 as a walk on and there weren't too many people out there. Some rain was in the forecast later in the day, but it was very nice all afternoon. They sent me right out to the first tee. Another single had checked in right behind me and we paired up. We didn't run into anybody in front of us until about hole 14, where we caught a foursome. That made the last few holes a little slower, but the whole round only took a little over 3 hours. Perfect pace for a second 18 of the day!

The conditions were interesting. The fairways were brown and dried out for overseeding, but didn't affect play much. The rough was excellent and the greens were in great shape. On most holes, the fairways were brown 3/4 of the way until you got closer to the greens, then they were perfect and green. So everything on and around the greens looked perfect. All the par 3's looked great with no big fairways to worry about. Greens were soft and receptive with the heavy rains from the day before, but still rolled pretty true and fast.

The front nine is nice here, but the back nine is beautiful as it works its way around a reservoir. Very nice course with a fair amount of challenges. Lots of environmental hazard areas and some tight tee shots. Pays to be on your game here. Bunkers were in really good shape. Look forward to playing this course again when it's in better shape visually (as far as the fairways go), but otherwise no complaints about the course or conditions.

Like all the "nice" OC courses, it's definitely overpriced. I played twilight rate for $75 with a cart, which isn't horrible. I can't imagine paying $160 here on a weekend morning, though. If you get a good deal, it's well worth the visit!

the good: winter conditions - the course in very good condition. greens were fast and firm. great customer service - starter very cordial and helpful, saw the bev cart a few times.
the bad: they no longer provided free range balls -considering the $ they charge, you would think they would include them (they used to but not anymore?). no marshalls - group in front were super slow and we called for player assistance, no one came. bunkers were inconsistent.
overall good experience.

Played via Click4teetimes on a Sunday, afternoon rates ... we were practically the only ones out on the course ... played leisurely in 3:40. Greens were soft and receptive, more ball marks than I'd like to see (lazy or just don't care), bunkers were a bit hard pan, some unraked, and needed some conditioning, tee boxes could've use a mow, and the fairways excellent. The Farms is a challenging layout from the tips & (for the GF) even the reds with lots of 'environmentally sensitive' areas, and it's pleasing to the eye. Cart gal came around 3 times, staff very courteous, and the food was good after the round. Great practice facility, too. Will come back soon.

We had the first tee time this morning at 6AM. We finished by 9:30. They had us tee off # 10 but bet they did not expect us to find a dead coyote in the fairway nor a dead rattlesnake in the middle of # twelve. Just call maintenance and keep going. But other than that, this course is in great shape. It was the first course all year that we found no left over divots in the greens from the weekend. Not only that, there were no tell tale marks (like other course's greens) of divots. Absolutely spotless greens, that were receptive and rolled great. The fairways are in top shape and the bunkers were all raked and smooth. Even the cart wagon was out by 8. We had not played here in several years and with the conditions we encountered this morning (other than the coyote and snake) we will be back very soon. For those of you who are interested, they do allow walking if you so choose. If you have not played here, you should. I know the rates are high (we used our OC cards) but suspect there are deals to be found online. It really was the best maintained course we have played all year in S CA.

First time playing this track. Got there before they opened and had a 720 Am tee time. Talked to starter and got off around 600 am by myself. A twosome was ahead of me and a single ahead of them. Plyed first nine in 90 mins or so. Then played next 4 holes in 45 mins and ran into 2 groups of four...got called to do an emergency job and left. I played very well (shot two balls) and loved the course and its condition. Only drawback was the wet fairways (but since I was an early golfer expected that) and some of the tee boxes weren't level. Overall it was awesome. i think they should drop a few bucks off the greens fee ( I payed $78)...but everythig else was stellar.

I really enjoyed playing here today. A challenging course that rewarded good shots.

I really enjoyed playing here today. A challenging course that rewarded good shots.
Now for the bad news...we started on the back 9 and the greens through were very slow. They were a bit furry and were not true. We actually caught up with the guy mowing the greens on hole 18. Holes 1-9 had been mowed and were medium-fast and true as could be.

One thing that left a bad taste in my mouth. We booked and paid for a foursome (at) $75 per player. As we were pulling in to the parking, one of our group called and cancelled on us because of a strained back. We asked for a refund or a credit at the clubhouse and rec'd a terse "NO". I was a little surprised at the tone of his response. He could at least directed us to the manager to see if there was anything they could do for us.
