Aerification Alert! Greens 13-18 were punched on Monday the 18th. The rest of the greens were good. Fairways on the back nine were good, lots of bare spots on the front nine. Tee boxes in good shape and the bunkers were perfect. Always did love this course the layout is great. It is demanding on your approach shots. If you struggle with iron play you probably will not have the best time here. Most fairways are pretty generous for landing areas, however the greens are elevated, well guarded and undulated. Nice practice area to get started for your round. Played in the am so the wind was calm.

Played the course 5/30/2011. The course was in pretty good shape. There was some bare spots in the fairway. There was also some winter kill on some greens but fortunately, the greenskeeper had enough sense not to put pins anywhere near them.
The course itself was not too much of an "eye candy", but the challenge it presented was plenty enough. Tight fairways and bunkers that come into play present a lot of challenge off the tee. If you were fortunate enough to keep the ball in play, approach shots play into a lot of elevated greens that are well guarded by huge gaping bunkers grabs your attention really quick. Greens were rolling true and fast with a lot of undulation that makes it hard to score.
All in all a very enjoyable experience, and for $29 after 12:00, makes it well worth the drive.
Oh yeah, by the way. Fantasy Springs Casino being 2 miles away, made it easier to get a pass from the CEO, aka MRS. Bratt17, to take a trip down there. She said she had a great time too!!!

I don't know what has happened with some of the fairways. A very good challenge and lots of tee options. Great summer deal and the pace of play was great..no one in front of us. Try it out!!

this was kind of a depressing round. i used to play this golf course all the time, but this was my first in about 3 years. geez....they have really let this place go. this was once a high end public course. it's pretty low end now. extremely poor conditioning. the fairways (especially 1, 8, and 9) were so wet and muddy that they were unplayable. the superintendent is overwatering. felt like i was playing in a swamp. greens were slow and wet. no attention to detail displayed what so ever...this courses conditioning rivals that of indio municipal. it really is a fun track though. i would recommend playing it if you can find a great deal. dissapointingly, this track is nothing like it used to be.

The Terra Lago courses by Schmidt/Curley designs are very scenic against a mountainous and blue skies backdrop as a nature's treat, specially the North Course. The elevation changes entertains the golfer's thoughts on the tees and each approaches into an awe inspiring risk and reward as its majestic beauty presents the challenges at hand on each hole. The thinker usually wins, of course, as not all its great looks pays a rewarding result around its pretty but guarding elements. Most definitely, at all times, “decipher!”... could it be the angel or the demon in me? This exciting course lay out demands respect for its surrounding nature. The softness around the lakes and streams with the fluffy sand in each bunkers brings the lush smooth putting greens in a beautiful highlight.

The modern designed whale tail bunkerings are huge and are pleasing to the eyes. They are all strategically placed for play that could either be punitive against its tall faces although some of those bunkers could be in disguise and could actually be a friend at times when saving a lengthy poke from reaching some unmaintained areas that are enough to hide objects as large as your carts.

Both the North course and the South course have an east and west portion. The north course is closer to the mountains and has more elevation, therefore, more scenic.

My only wish is for the front nine's fairways conditions are as good as the back, though I am not ranting about it's excessive watering and a few bare spots that could possibly been there for quite some time, we as players do not get the idea beyond greens keeping knowledge when it comes to overwatering to a point of puddles and mud, although, we players only notices the differences in a playing condition. In any case, like many others, my guests, friends, and regulars defer and always gives the benefit of the doubt to things that can improve in a course when we see a course that we enjoy.

Definitely, do play this course for the test of skills, for a memorable experience, for fun and pleasure.

Played Sunday 02-07-10 first off the tee and enjoyed the round. The fairway on the first and the nineth hole were soaked, a lot of casual water. Other than that, the course is in fine shape.
