4 Decades of playing PGA West courses, 4 Decades of quality. Lush conditions as previously mentioned in reviews. The Facility for the resort side in enormous, practice areas have multiple putting and chipping areas with bunkering which are also lush. Driving range has
umbrellas and some nice cushiony chairs to sit back and ponder the shots you are hitting.
The ambiance on the patio was great as well as the grub, very tasty! Very courteous staff from a Quality Resort Golf Facility.

Stopped by Monday Midday after some freed up time. POP 3.5 hours, groups were moving at a good pace in front of me.

Do not let the furry looking greens fool you, there pretty quick with nice roll out on well hit putts. These are multi tiered greens, but that is it as far as undulation, if your on the right tier you are not looking at huge breaking putts. There are a few bumps on them, out of 27 putts, only 2 putts got knocked offline.

Tee boxes were generally pretty good except for blue tees on 5, they need to move those markers, plenty of sod other than that.

You could see the distinct cut between fairway and tough, the fairways were more on the thin side with really only 1 and 18 with visible bare spots, the rest very playable with good lies to be found. The rough was thin in some areas and 3" in other areas where the ball would sit down for a possible penalizing lie.

Sand was thin in the fairways and although looking hard pan greenside, there was sand there but very compact sand, fooled me on the first one! Some of the fairway bunkers look more like waste bunkers on the back 9.

Even though with the green/brown color mixture as not so appealing, good course, love the layout. I think this course is making a comeback.

Wind help: Its hard to realize right off the bat but a lot of the course is sunk down in between houses in valleys, when the wind is blowing make sure to check the trees in back yards above you that extend pass the roofs for a better measure of wind velocity.

Drive for show, Putt for $ !

Friday 11:30 Pace was blazing on the front, ran into some groups on 14, still 3.25 hours is nice. Course overall is in playable condition. Good layout with a variety of different looks.
Tee Boxes needed some help by moving the tee markers around, it was evident that they hadn't been moved in a few days but still could find a spot. Fairways were not pristine by any means however there were few bare spots that I saw and the ball was sitting pretty good. Greens were medium to slow on putts and very grainy, keeping it firm was a must.
Greens were holding most shots, a little inconsistent. Bunkers- fairway traps were hard dirt,
Greenside traps had plenty of soft sand to hit from, even plugged one. Course has various dog legs a few elevation changes, some water holes, a few dried up hazard areas, generous fairways. Not a lot of trouble to get into. Worth the $25. The Range is across the street so if you need to use it leave a little extra time!

Glen Ivey, Sunday GK pile on! LOL

Course very playable, fairways do not look nice but ball sits up good, Bunkers I was in had plenty of sand, however raking was an issue for players. Greens on 14 and 17 had a few
areas where the aeration sand was still present. A few greens were bumpy but overall rolled
well. The group made a lot of putts, so that is a good measuring stick. Staff was Friendly. POP was great until we hit 16. It must of taken an hour to play the last 3 holes. I actually think its typical here for the back to take longer to play, its very scenic and more difficult of the nine, so be prepared to hit the brakes! Worth the Price at $35. Thanks again Hammer74.

Monday Morning tester, I haven't played a morning round in a long time...ouch

Clubhouse remodeled, some beautification being done. Nets only for warmup. For anyone that doesn't know there is a driving range 3 miles south of the course on Temescal Canyon Rd.

Tee boxes have plenty of turf but quite a few with leveling issues. Fairways are thin with larger clumps of grass abundant, but still pretty good lies. Rough was pretty good height
with lots of dormant grass. Greens were as slow as i've seen them, which isn't a bad thing, but a tad bumpy. Bunker sand was near perfect. Pace of play was good, went through 4 groups. 3 hours. Everyone always friendly here.

Another cool thing is every few Sundays a month they have a 9 hole scramble with a 15" Hole. You heard it right 15"! I think its $20. I am on the email list, and heard about it.

Hit em well

Weekend afternoon round, a little busy, 1 guys ridiculous antics held up some groups.
Tee Boxes were overall good, a couple were sloped, not a lot of divot damage.
Fairways were really great, nice sitting up lies you were rewarded with by hitting them.
Rough was very fair and well conditioned.
Bunkers were really really good, nice consistent sand. Variety of size and depth spread throughout the course.
Greens were well manicured, rolled very well with just some slight bumps here and there.
They are receptive and take shots ant different trajectories.

Definitely would like to play here again, hidden gem for sure.

I played with DConnally and can't add much more except bad course conditions made the course more difficult due to lies in the fairways. It's not that there was'nt grass, it was the enleveling bumps and pits your ball would sit in like you were being penalized for being in the fairway. No cart paths, very bumpy terrain for carts BAJA 500 I thought we were competing in. Pace of play was amazingly good and the best part of the golf experience, no waiting. I would recommend other courses to people I liked! LOL. Snack bar overpriced, but people were friendly. Smallish greens, Bunkers are a crap shoot.

Do not recommend.

Played Sunday Morning with Lefthander32 in our South Matchplay final, got off a little late but pace was actually pretty good, it didn't seem like we were waiting alot but it took 5 hours, I honestly think the South course with its length and the par 74 just takes that long to play. To the course now, greens in really good shape ran fairly smooth, minimal ball marks, these greens have subtle little breaks in them that are difficult to see. Bunkers were consistent and firm, no fault of the course but raking bunkers were a bit of an issue for some people. Fairways were not that great, lots of bare spots and unevenly grown fairway clumps. Rough the same, lots of bare spots. Tee boxes were unleveled with an overabundance of divots. A good size driving range, 5 putting greens await you when you arrive, I however do not understand why they would have the range set up in the same place they had obviously had it for a few days(hard to find a grass lie. It's Sunday, one of the busiest day's of the week! I have a tough time paying full rate here without a discount, just not worth it for me.

Lush,Lush, and Lush.

Played in a tournament here on 5/7/12. I have to play here more, conditions were great, I did not see a bare spot anywhere, greens, fairways, rough or in between. New carts were nice, no GPS but course is well marked on sprinkler heads. Course is not overly difficult, slope of greens, balls sitting down in rough and wind are the contributing factors on how difficult this course will get. Generous landing areas on fairways. Practice area is very good. I am thinking GK event!

What a course! Layout is phenomenal, it was hard not to think ahead to an upcoming hole you have been waiting to play or saw as you were playing another hole.

Practice facilities- Very good, Driving range, chipping green, and undulating putting green were all in good shape. Driving range is spacious. Balls were fairly new.

Staff- Very good- From the starter to the Cart attendents, thank you Liz, for always having water and ice for us when we needed it.

Tee boxes- It was always easy to find a lush area to tee it up, I usually tee it up for par 3's, not here I just dropped it on the lush grass.

Fairways- Good lies all day, ball sitting up, pro's would of been jealous.

Rough- Very good condition, not very penalizing.

Sand- Consistent from fairway to green side. Tough if you are short sided due to firmness of greens.

Greens were good- Only complaint about the greens was there was some inconsistency in speed. One green on the back, I think it was 12 had some damage but did not effect anyone in our group.

The course gave Johnny some flags from a previously celebrity event there which was a nice gesture. There is no doubt in my mind I will be back to play here again, it is being added to my list of favorites. If you have not played this course you are missing out, I think everyone who has played here would agree.

Played Easter Sunday, afternoon 4pm for $39. As I was hoping very few groups out there. Starting with the Tee Boxes, very nice, level, maintained. The positioning of the tee boxes does not add difficulty to the course. Fairways were very nice, good lie's out there for you in the short stuff, got up to 30 yards of roll. Off the Fairway there is usually rough, mostly dirt and mud with patches of grass here. The desert areas were well manicured which helped with the visual aspects this course is lacking in other areas. Sand looked good, well manicured, I did not get to test the sand on this day however. Greens were colorful but furry. Very slow and did not roll with consistency. Held shots consistently. Staff was professional and accommodating.

Played yesterday afternoon in GK match play, enjoyed this course and the layout very much. The fairways were cut down but not unplayable, only had two bad lies in the fairways and I was sitting in a little pit both times. The rough was not difficult to play out of. Tee boxes were level with plenty of grass. Sand traps were inconsistent some fluffy some wet, some thin.(some deep fairway bunkers on this course with sharp steep faces on them so you can be penalized by hitting in them). Greens were punched 3 weeks ago and are still healing but playable. Our group fixed a lot of divots on the greens, spread the word GKer's let's take care of our courses. I recommend this course for all levels of play.
