On Tuesday 4/9, four of us teed off at 3pm, on a busy course with steady 8 minute tee times. Through good marshaling and disciplined golfers, we still finished in 3+50 in the cool desert evening breeze.
Customer service is first class all around. Expansive prac-fac, balls included.
Tees:good. Fairways lush and running long; easy to hit from. Rough: very sensible length (1.2"), lush and promotes speed of play. Collars around greens expertly manicured and trimmed/lush. Greens were a little slow today due to the winds here the last few days, so the grass is a little longer, but smooth and true. Sand appeared very nice, but I escaped it all day. Good layout, drinks cart passes and a fun round. Ample deals exist on many websites.
Give it a go.

Played here yesterday afternoon. GolfNow "hot deal" time at noon for $55 was well worth it. This place definitely has an old school Country Club vibe. And by "old school" I mean I think I was the only one out there under 65. Felt a bit out of place at times amongst all the elderly members and their fancy personal carts, but it was a fun experience. I was paired with three members, we teed off right on time. The course was very busy, but they space the tee times well and encourage a four hour pace (not to mention fixing ball marks, filling divots, etc.). We waited at times, but still finished in just over 4 hours. I applaud the management and members for these measures.

The course is in really nice shape right now. The fairways and rough are green and lush throughout. Though the rough isn't super deep and the ball tends to sit up well, it really grabs your club and offers a challenge. The greens were a tad too firm (no need to repair many ball marks because they weren't easily made), but they rolled very smooth on putts at medium/slow speeds. There did appear to be a second kind of lighter grass or fungus growing in on a handful of greens, but it didn't affect playability. I wasn't in a sand trap, but they appeared to be nice.

Despite what the name suggests, there isn't much "desert" at Desert Falls. Where other courses in the area might have desert waste areas and scrub brush, this course just has mounds and mounds of lush, well-manicured rough and a smattering of trees. There are plenty of bail-out areas (except for the handful of water holes where accuracy/strategy is more of a premium), but approach angles are vital because of so many unusually shaped greens and tricky pin placements. This course is forgiving off the tee, but gets very tough on and around the greens. It's a fun overall track. I enjoyed the back nine more than the front as it's more hilly and interesting.

Very good to great conditions right now with the greens picking up speed and firmer than our last game. Superbly lush presentation throughout the course with all grasses manicured very well. Sand looks like it has been renewed as the depth seemed better and easier to hit out of. Good attention by all the friendly staff with many drinks cart passes supported by the expansive prac-fac, and an easy paced round of 4+15. Rated 8.5/10.

Two of us teed off 1230 on Monday 28 Jan- 2 tee starting on a full field still allowed us to finish in 4 hours due good marshaling and disciplined golfers.
8/10 overall. Expert and friendly staff helps make the day.
Lush conditions, fast fairways, beautiful grooming, quick smooth greens and enough challenge for all golfers makes a return an easy decision.
We captured a golfnow hot deal for $35.

The course is picking up speed. Still lush throughout, some dryness allows the ball to run on the fairway, rough is low enough to easily hit out of, and the greens are more firm and neither holding shots nor marking much at all. Sand good all over.
Still a good pace (4 hrs) on a busy day with us teeing off at 1215.
As always, nice staff and good facilities encourage one's return. 8/10

I hadn't played this course in probably 20 years but had a great time. The course was in excellent shape. I believe this is primarily a private club with some limited public times. Was sent out as part of a shotgun start with some other Golfnow people but the rest of the tourney was members. Not a problem because we started on 16 with no other groups ahead of us. We never saw another group. It is a fair, straightforward test. Not tricked up at all but still enough challenge to keep it interesting. Greens were perfect, quick but not over the top. Just a really enjoyable round of golf. Certainly not as picturesque or challenging as SilverRock, Indian Wells or Classic Club, but if you are looking for a fun social type round on perfectly manicured course, give it a try.

A fine end to 2012.
Great conditions all around. Greens smooth, holding and around 10 stimp.
Fine service and fun layout makes for a great day.
