Played the Blues (6687/72.2/127) with Itslikeimsayin & Tom in 3H 25M as the 2nd group out. We had a 2/1 voucher that averaged out to $55 per person. Very pleasant conditions, overcast, started in the high 50's and ended in the low 70's. The course looks nice with the over seeding. Links layout containing holes set among rolling hills that is unusual for the Palm Springs area. Decent amount of water, high native grass and OB to keep you on your toes, but this is not a tight course. The tees were lush and well maintained. The fairways were lush and nice to play from. The primary rough was lush and not overly high but was nasty to play from because it was thick and wet with dew. I was less than a yard off 2 different fairways with my drive and had almost zero chance to get the ball on the green from the lies I had. The native rough is calf deep and almost a sure lost ball. I was not in any traps, but they looked nice. The others in the group hit several nice sand shots. The greens were smooth and firm. They putted medium to medium slow speed. The customer service was excellent from all encountered. No GPS on the carts and the course is poorly marked for yardage. There are 150 yard palm markers and many holes have old marks on the cart paths makes it challenging to calculate distances, This course does not generate alot of buzz, but overall it is one of my more favorite layouts to play in the Palm Springs area. Recommended.

Played on the afternoon of 4/2, so this is a bit late.

I'll be honest, I've been visiting the desert for over 5 years now and I never knew this place existed until I booked the tee time. First off, I really liked the layout. It's a little more rolling and links style than many of the offerings in the desert. Course was a fair test. A handful of holes where you need to keep it dry, but mostly a what you see is what you get affair. Some interesting shaped greens and tough multi-tiered complexes. The Y-shaped green on number 14 stands out in this regard. It's a 210 yard par three with a sinisterly-sloped green. I made the mistake of going long by 3-4 yards when the pin was in the middle back. I was just a couple of yards off the green, but once I got to my ball I knew it would take a miracle to avoid a 5 (I didn't...lol). Course measured in the 6900-7000 yards range from the back tees, but it played shorter than that (I'll get to that in a minute). Nice mix of yardages from hole to hole (couple of reachable par 5s, a couple long par 3s, a drivable par 4 (number 7?).

As for course conditions, the turf was very hard in the fairways and rough. Good grass coverage overall, but the ground was hard and shots would run quite a bit. I lost balls long into the water on holes 1 and 10 after playing what I thought were perfect layups off the tee. On 10, a flat hole, I hit a 2 hybrid 295 yards into the water at the end of the fairway (I do not hit a hybrid 295...lol). Granted, the course looked fine and I didn't have any problems hitting out of either the fairway or rough. It was just hard and fast. Same goes with the greens. Greens had good coverage and putted well, but they were on the hard side. Didn't suck too many shots back, mostly a decent sized hop and a 5-10 foot release. Good thing the fairways were hard and I was bouncing my drives out 300+ yards. Allowed me to hit a lot of wedges and short irons that I could bring in high. I don't think I would have had a lot of success holding greens with mid-to-long irons. There were plenty of traps, but I only remember hitting out of one of them, a short par 3 on the back, and the sand was fine in that one.

Overall, it's a fun layout and the type of place where you can post a good score and build some confidence. If they could soften up the fairways and greens a bit, it would be a very fine layout. I would play again at the right price.

I like this links style layout that is very atypical for the area. It contains holes set in rolling hills that you rarely encounter in the Palm Springs area. Decent amount of water, high native grass and OB to keep you focused, but this is not an overly tight driving course. The Bermuda tees were lush and mostly well maintained. The fairways were nice to play from, mostly lush with a few brown areas. The primary rough was mowed down and usually good to play from, even with longer clubs. The native rough needs to be avoided at all costs because even if you find your ball you may only be able to play it. The sand traps around the greens had nice white, fine sand. Difficult to play from as it played heavy/thick. Fairway traps more hardpacked and still had brownish sand, good to play from. The Bermuda greens were firm but held shots well and putted medium speed with few ball marks. The customer service was excellent from all encountered. Better than average practice facility with complementary range balls. No drink cart, but they had a limited menu at their snack shop at the turn. Recommended.

DF is an excellent links layout containing a good amount of water, high native grass and OB to keep you on your toes. However, most driving areas are generous, this is not a tight course.

The tees were generally well maintained and lush.

The fairways were nice to play from. Mostly lush with a few brown areas here and there.

The primary rough was mowed down and usually okay to play from even with longer clubs. The native rough needs to be avoided, even if you find your ball you may not be able to play it.

The sand traps around the greens were recently replenished with nice fine white sand. Difficult to play from as it was so thick & heavy. The fairway traps were more hard packed with browner sand.

The Bermuda greens putted nice. Medium speed and generally held shots well. Very few ball marks because they were so firm.

Overall, the course is more golden brown than emerald green, but it played better than it looked from afar. No drink cart, but the customer service was excellent from all encountered. Recommended.

Excellent links layout containing holes set in rolling hills that you do not expect to encounter in the Palm Springs area. Good amount of water, high native grass and OB to keep you on your toes, but this is not a tight course. The course is more golden brown than emerald green, but it played better than it looked from afar.

fun and interesting course with water sneaking around on several holes...

Course was in typical Palm Desert condition - really green and fun to play.

#18 might be one of the tougher finishing holes I have ever played - a 427yd par 4 with water in play.

Nice carts with coolers, no gps, but plenty of water stations and restrooms.

This is one of those courses you need to play a few times to understand better where to hit and where to avoid.

we had a blast out there today and would recommend this course.

Played 5/12 on a Golfnow Hot Deal 12:36pm time for only ~$32. Temperature around 95 degrees. First time playing here and all the staff I encountered were very friendly in welcoming me to Desert Falls CC. Got my cart and putted/chipped and met my playing partners (two local guys; super nice guys Jeff & Earl!) then hit the range to hit around 20 balls (included). Very nice views from the clubhouse & practice areas. We tee'd off right on time with some helpful tips from the starter, Marty, we were on our way quickly. I played Blues at 6687 yds. The first half of the front 9 was kinda tight and straight forward layouts for the most part. Everything was in awesome shape. Greens rolled true.

I chose Desert Falls because of the reviews saying it was a links style course and it was a lot of fun! I could see on a more windy day it would be more challenging especially on the back nine where the holes are more exposed (#12 par 3 #3 hcp). The locals I played with were very helpful with tips on tee shots and breaks on the green. I guess we got lucky with pin placements that day because there were definitely some more challenging areas of the greens they pointed out which would be a nightmare to shoot at and then try to two-putt!

There are a good mix of straight-away holes and dogleg holes to make things interesting. Oh, and water on #9 par 5 and #18 par 4; my only 3-putt on the day to finish :(

I highly recommend this course! Shared the few pics I took. It's in awesome condition right now!

Played the Blues (6687/72.2/127) with Lotrgolfer48 & RGM2525, teeing off @ 6:40 and playing in 3H, 45M. The weather was well into te 80's by the time we finished, partly cloudy and breezy. I had received an e-mail advertising rates of $59 including a cart before 8am, which I confirmed with the Pro Shop when I called and made the tee time. However, when we arrived, I was dismayed that the pro shop initially tried to charge us $69 per person, but he relented when I mentioned the e-mail. I find this layout to be interesting, containing lots of fun, challenging holes. Atypical for this area in that many holes have rolling hills with side hill lies. Big undulating greens, elevation changes, plenty of lakes and palm trees, good variety of short, medium and longer holes, some doglegs... just a bunch of good golf holes overall. The tees were in very good shape, only a few had significant divot damage. The Bermuda fairways were very nice, I consistently had good lies and there were few unrepaired divots. You have to break the rough down into 2 categories here. The wide cut surrounding the fairways is not overly penal and generally good to hit out of. They advertise this as one of the few links style courses in the Palm Springs area. I would classify it as quasi links style, but they do have their native rough where if you really spray the ball, it is deep, thick and assuming you find it, you are probably whacking your ball out with a wedge less than 100 yards. The traps are large and were well maintained. We were playing early, so they were wet/thick. The Bermuda greens putted medium speed and were smooth and firm. The ball rolled well and the breaks are deceptive here. Big, beautiful clubhouse. After the rate issue was cleared up, the customer service was a plus. Nice grass driving range with complementary range balls. Cannot really put a finger on it, no holes with a wow factor nor or there that many holes that really suit my eye... but I really like the course layout and look forward to playing here again. IMO, one of the better courses available to the public in the greater Palm Springs area. Definitely recommended.

Apart from the tops of a few mounds that were on the dry side, everything was very green providing excellent lies everywhere. Nick will probably have some comments on the bunkers being quite wet (He became an expert on them quickly) but the sand was better than just about anything I play normally. Tees were level and fantastic, fairways green, lush, and consistent, rough consistent. Water comes into play on several holes and most of these were the best on the course, I felt (1 and 10 come to mind immediately). Everything was just very good all around and a very nice way to spend a few hours before a GK event in La Quinta.
