I played here for the first time today 2/13/08. It has beautiful views, and its in a quiet area. Its very challenging. The greens are good, and they have some pretty tough breaks. If you can keep it straight you can do well, but you will enjoy the views either way. Keep it below the hole..

Played sat.jan/26/08 after about 2 years since last in tournament group.I saw they eliminated GPS system so you can guide only yardage from springkler on ground.Overall conditions are good but little bit soggy .Greens are medium-fast & smooth with some exagerated breaks(mountain?).Nice views very relaxing & tranquille ambient.

Played the course on Saturday 2 Feb and was very disappointed. I haven't played the course for a couple of months and it is poor condition compaired to the last time I played it. The service was okay but the course was in need of a lot of attention. The tee boxes we either way overgrown or very thin. Hard to get a level spot. The fairways were in poor conditin with a lot of very thin areas with yellow and/or brown areas of sick grass. The sand traps were hard in many spots and only one or sometimes no rakes available. Hard to find yardage markers and a course of this so called high quality should have GPS systems. Even several local city and county courses now have GPS systems. The greens were fast maybe too fast for the high slope of the greens. Very hard to read the speed and direction of the ball. Maybe good for a PGA tournament but not fun for week-end golfers. Overall I believe I will try other courses in the area.

The greens were way to fast for this course/amont of slope on the greens. When you hit the middle of the green in regulation you dont expect oyur ball to end up rolling back off the front of the green over 50 ft. I have played this course many times and really hated the greens this time. i know they are always tuff but this was to the point of unfair. i usually avg 26- 30 puts. had 41 today and shot a 89. very frustrating. Rest of course in avg to poor shape. seen it a lot better and also a lot worse.

Great potential as a course, lots of character, but the greens are just not fair. There are no US Opens planned for this location as far as I know so give the 15 handicapper a chance, please. The slo... Continue »

Great potential as a course, lots of character, but the greens are just not fair. There are no US Opens planned for this location as far as I know so give the 15 handicapper a chance, please. The slopes combined with the wind make many of them unputtable. Great shot maker course. Strategy off the tees is important, especially since the fairways were thin and hard. The ball runs forever but usually sideways!

Played on 12/26, things started poorly but thank the Lord the course conditions made up for it. Had problem with green fee price, I specifically asked twice, once on day of making tee time and again day before tee time if holiday rates were in effect. Was reassured they were not so time was kept. Get there and the pro shop wants to charge holiday rate so of course it is the back and forth finally get regular senior rate but now are pushed back by three tee times. This lead to a 5+ hour round of golf. The course is in very good shape, the greens are smooth, the tee boxes good, and most spotty areas in fairway are marked as ground under repair. Some bunkers are very compacted so check closely before playing your shot. The greens are not fast as people have been stating, they are just very sloping. The slope can be tricky because of how the course wanders throught the hills, and many pin placements are illegal (no flat area around the cup). You can definitely putt off the greens or chip off the greens into an awaiting bunker. Very important to be aware of how the land falls, since it is what makes the greens seem so fast. Some greens have settled so much since this courses opening they truly are impossible. Check out the practice green, tap a putt from the top of the green and watch it pick up speed until it finds the other end.

Great course. Play last Saturday and had great a time. Greens al little fast but fair. #10 hole played a little tuff. My playing partner took a ten on this hole. Pin location unfair. It took him 5 shot to get the ball close the hole. Ball kept rolling of the green back towards him. But overall we had lot's of fun. Were playing it again on the 24th.

The course is in good shape which makes this challenging course a more enjoyable experience. The greens are fast ... you get an idea of the type of speed that the pros contend with all the time. The course has very little contact with any houses so your views are of the moonscape type hills (with lots of large boulders) or the mountains in the distance. To score well, you have to think about where to place your tee shots in order to have good angles to the green AND you have to be on the right level of the greens. The greens are fast so it is best to be below or on the same level as the hole - above the hole is risky.

Range is still out of action. Another month, per the pro shop. Fairways were very thin, and many bare spots. Greens very quick, more break than you think. $5 hole-in-one buy-in on 16. Finished in about 4.5 hours on a Monday p.m. Not bad. My cart died on 10. 3 minutes later, as I was thinking what to do next, one of ground crew said he saw my problem so he brought me a new cart. That's service! Very impressive.
