I played today 8/27/07. The greens need to rolled and cut, very slow and bumpy, lots of old divot marks. 2 of the par 5's they don't allow carts on at all.... there are several holes that need work in the fairways. The rough is very good and fair. The yardage markers need trimming you cant find alot of them. Paid $45 not worth more until they do some work on this course

I've been playing this course since it opened, and - I've seen the good, the bad and even the ugly. But right now, I can't think of a single bad thing to say about Hidden Valley. Well, other than the fact that it's the middle of summer and they seem to be pouring a ton of water on the course to keep it so green (there were a few spots that were a bit soggy). The fairway were green and lush (with a very few brown or bare spots - not that effected play in any way) and the greens (although a little fluffy and in need of a good mowing and rolling) were very nice.

With a Click4TeeTimes price of forty bucks including cart, this is one of the best values in So. Cal. golf. It's always been a quirky layout, with fairways that slope both right and left, uphill and downhill, and it makes you think your way around the track...but - it's fun and challenging. It even has a set of black tees for the very adventurous...most of us should be sticking to the blues and the whites.

Be sure to spend the extra five bucks (for charity) and give the $10,000.00 "hole-in-one" challenge a try. Even if you don't win, the ticket gets you your first clubhouse beer for whatever price your 18-hole score was. My beer cost me $0.85. And after that, the hole-in-one ticket gets you $5.00-off your next round at Hidden Valley. The clubhouse is nice, so is the pro-shop.

One minor drawback (that they are working on every day) is that they have torn out the practice range to reconfigure it. I meant to ask them how long they thought it would take...if you REALLY need to warm up, stop by Goose Creek and hit a $5.00 bucket first.

All-in-all the best forty (five) buckes I've spent all year. Very enjoyable.

Three and a half hours to play as a twosome. Good pace.

Played 7:30AM Saturday morning, Aug 11th. Encountered pretty thick fog for the first four or five holes. Couldn't even see the fairway and green on number 2. Course in pretty good shape, and apparently course is getting in shape for pro-am next month. Rough is getting thicker all around the course - you sometimes have to be right on top of your ball to find it. Makes hitting fairways a premium. Straight hitters will be rewarded with good scores, but bring your best putting game to the course - it is a must.

Had a Sunday 11:30 tee. On the course at 11:45, finished at 4:30. Under 5 on a weekend is ok with me. Course was actually quite impressive. I think the course is now being run by Jay Miller (who brought Cresta Verde back to some semblance of respectability during his 5 years there). The course is a fun canyon course to play with exceptional fairways and some deep rough. Stay in the fairway. Wasn't to impressed with the traps as they were hard. Only got into one of them though! Greens were slow and ran true. A couple of surprises to my reads, I think due to canyons. Quiet and peaceful, with hawks soaring overhead. Really a pleasurable experience. Would love to go again soon and would recommend this to other courses further down the 15. Great job so far on this course. Can't wait to see what happens in the next year or so.

Very nice course, they have done a nice job bringing this course back to life. I played this course just after the decided not to sell it a couple years back. Man, this course can be fun. If you are having a good day. Only complaint is the first fairway is very sloppy, a little over watered. The down hill par 5 is dangerous. We were proceding down past the dog leg and hit a spot that had just been watered and we went sliding for almost 50 yards. With that, the course is in pretty good shape and i love playing it on the good days.

this course has come a long way back from the dead conditions of recent past. My only complaint is that the traps are all mud or hard pack sand, they need to be re-done, the fairways are lush green but they do have quite a few areas that are mud due to poor drainage. Overall this is a great challenge and the conditions are still good, I will be back soon.
