Played here Weds 11/26. Fearing rain we came suitably protected. But not a drop until the dreaded 17th. First out we had the glory of all the course in front of us and that daunting first tee shot to challenge us. That over with we found a course that was very wet but entirely playable and enjoyable. The greens were particularly good: firm, speedy for winter and true - you pick your line and it stays there - can't ask for much more really. Good job greenskeeper.
Personally I love this course. It's a test, it's about course navigation and holding back, it rewards strategic shots. Plus it has some breathtaking views at various points on the course. At sunrise it is so gorgeous - you are elevated away from the hum of the commuting traffic, you can see for miles on either side of the hills and you feel free.
The pro shop guys have always been accommodating and easy to get along with too. And at $45 vis click4teetimes it's a steal.

Played for the first time 10/22/08. You really need a "navigator" to play this course without any previous knowledge. Greens were in great shape, relatively fast. Very Very undulating and challenging. Pay attention to the position of the hole and make sure you are below it. Fairways were in OK shape, some very wet spots (no rain to speak of must be from normal watering) and some very thin spots. Like other reviewers, the slight rough is tough to hit out of for sure. You really need to play your shots to the correct position for a good chance to score. Their little golf guide while very reasonably priced ($3) was of moderate help. You had to find a sprinkler head with yardage to have a clue and sometimes that was tough. This course could definitely use gps in the cart. One negative I really had. Tee boxes were horrendous. Not in their general condition, but in how they are maintained. Majority of the tee boxes were very uneven giving you tee shots with your feet above or below the ball (On the tee???). They could have taken much better care in building these. If intention was to get drainage, come up with a better way. This was annoying. Also, getting your correct yardage from the Tee box (actually ensuring you were at the right one was difficult). Some par 3's the blue/white markers were right there next to each other - but card had different yardages - go figure.

All in all a nice course. Not for the very high handicapper in that a good deal of the holes from the whites/blues you have to carry the ball well off the tee and somewhat straight. Long hitters will get annoyed at having to lay back quite often if they are looking to score. But if you are long and straight, you can tear this course up --- IF YOU CAN PUTT...

This is one of the most unfair golf course in Southern Cali. I played yesterday and was sorely disappointed. The one glowing remark I can make is that the greens were in excellent condition and rolled very true. Other than the greens, the course is a mess. Several fairways should be cart path only, several fairways are in good shape, but they are cart path only. The grass is very inconsistent in the fairways, and there are entirely too many blind tee shots. At a minimum, they should offer a GPS systemto give you an idea of where to hit it, but they only give you a lame picture of the hole on hte tee markers. I will never play here again.

A bit overbooked, so there was upwards of 15 minute wait at some tee boxes. Stopped and had a nice lunch at the restaurant after the 9th hole to allow the congestion to clear and met the owner, Jay Miller.

Great golf day. Tee time was for 7:15, we got out around 7:30 by choice. Did some putting, warmed up and let a 2 some go out in front of us. The course was in real good shape, rough was not too long but hard to play from, ball would snuggle down, and you got grass between ball and club so not much distance.

The fairways were real nice, just a few brown spots, they were watering them down most of the morning, had some casual water areas we encountered but not a nuisance. The greens were lush and fast, and of course undulating. Not many ball marks except for #1. We finished in about 4 hrs, not pushing it, but just enjoying the morning, and looking for errant shots on 2 occassions.

Great customer service - greeted as we came in to the desk, thanked us for coming to play, no marshals or cart girl that early. But that was OK. We stopped in for a cold one afterwards, the Manager George Apodaca came in and greeted us, asked us about our golf experience and hoped we had a good time. Now that's what we need more of. Keep up the good work guys. Will be back soon.

I made the trip to hidden valley for my first time and it was well woth the 50min drive. I play most of my golf in the IE. its much cheaper and they have alot better courses then OC. The course was my Fav for the I.E so far better then Goosee creek, SCGA course and i liked it better then trilogy. This is hard but fun course to play with lots of elevated tee boxes and tight fairways. The greens were in great shape and so were the fairways. i paid $49 with cart and my tee time was at 1:06 and i finished at 5:30 not bad for a Saturday. I'm a 12 handicap and i shot a 79 (best score ever) i will be back to play very soon!!!!!

P.S driving range are mats :(

Wasn't to hot, pace of play was ok 4.5 hrs. Greens were longer which made the putting easier, i just wasnt used to them being slower. made it hard to get the break right.
