Played Friday 9/19. The course was really not in good shape. Looking out on the first hole you could see many brown spots in the fairway and that continued for the remaining holes. The greens were probably the best part of the round. The rough looked like it hadn't been cut for a long time. Push the ball right on 18 and was walking thur 6/7" grass, never found the ball. We had a large group (7)out and we were 1st at 7:30 and the Coures put a 5 someout at 7:15 who played from the blue. Then they put a 4 some out at 7:25. Well on hole 3, the 196 par 3 up hill there was a group on the green, the 5 some and 4 some waiting at the tee box when we showed up at the tee box. We watched the 5 some tee off, none of them cleared the trees on the right about 130 out. Man a clear sign of "wrong tees, but I paid my money and I am playing the entire courses" POP was terrible a little over 5 hours, waited on ever hole. It appeared the course tried to squeezes a few extra groups in front of us, you know like course regulars because we had 7 groups. If that happened, not cool. The other thing I will say is that this course is so under rated IMHP it is a crime. Not returning for a while.

15 May 2014 - We play this course at least once per month. Staff is outstanding. Rudy in the coffee shop is a great cook, makes fantastic coffee, and has been friendly for more than 20 years. You get the concept of "hills" on tees no. 1 and 10. Gorgeous settings, and the course is challenging. If you go twenty yards off the rough on some holes - forget it - wild country. Makes you need to aim your shot on those. We love this course, and will continue playing it as long as we can. Thank you, greenkeepers and staff.

Indian Hills Golf Club is a sister course to the nearby Jurupa Hills Golf Club and is part of a cluster of courses that also includes Paradise Knolls and Goose Creek, all within a miles of one another except the Goose which is a little further away. Like Paradise Knolls, Indian Hills doesn't have a range but some old timers will recall the Rube Goldberg contraption that was Macgyvered to bring balls back when they used to have a fifty yard hitting net. Using no science just a net, PVC and gravity, balls miraculously came back to be collected easily. While it worked, it just looked ugly as hell. The course has a terrific layout with no parallel fairways and yes, there are plenty of hills. The tee boxes are in good shape and the greens are usually very true and the fairways are better than typical for this cluster of courses, Goose Creek being the great exception. Bunkers are generally fair with a dirt/sand mix. There are some extremely challenging holes including number 3 a long uphill par 3 that plays longer than you think and a tiered green. Number 9 may be one of the tougher par 4's anywhere with water along the right side and a long second shot into a large green. Number 14 is narrow, uphill and has OB all along the left side. To get to the green requires a blind shot to a tiered green. The back 9 is where it gets interesting. The course meanders along a ridge line, climbing and dropping and it's one scenic hole after another culminating with their iconic hole number 16. It's a scenic hole that is extremely elevated with a generous fairway below. This is probably one of the biggest drop offs around and can be compared to Glen Ivy's and Pechanga's long drops. From that fairway you're hitting to a huge green with a massive bunker to the left protecting it. To the right is a pond with a plantation looking building that makes you feel like you're in Augusta until you realize it's some insurance company but still a nice touch and memorable. Never ran into any Indians in my round but maybe they used to roam the area and I'm sure I landed in couple of their burial grounds. This is a fun course with huge elevation changes and scenic views that you usually don't experience at these low prices. Enjoy!

Played a Wednesday 9:23 tee time. Arrived a bit late due to traffic and the starter was very accommodating and fit us in a 9:40. Great service for a $25 group certificate deal. Play was slow due to a twosome ahead of us playing over their heads from the blue tees so we waited on every hole, which turned it into a five hour round. Never saw a marshal or a beverage cart the entire 18.
Greens are soft, bumpy, and slow. Fairways are in very good shape. Some alternate tee boxes in use to allow regular boxes to recover. Sand in bunkers was very wet and very hard and I was glad I only had to sample it once.

If you play a casual game and bump your ball, you may enjoy this course. Significant elevation changes and with wind, some fun shot options. Large landing areas and large greens. Many areas of fairways and rough were unmarked but should have been “GUR” (maybe they ran out of paint). Carts seemed to be allowed everywhere and the popular tracks were “hard pan”. There was thin dirt in the bunkers, the base was “bedrock”, chip out don’t attempt a blast. Some of the greens had been punched, not sanded, all were firm and unreceptive. Greens on downhill holes often ran front to back which accentuated this. Over the back was the usual result and a poor position. Green speed was quite slow and bumpy. No beverage cart, and no water stations, (not a course that might be easily walked). Bring a cooler if it’s warm; you only see the clubhouse on first and ninth tee. Residents used the course as a dog park, which probably accounted for the lack of “coots” around the water hazards, geese seemed to be the local issue. Pace of play was a little slow at about 5 hours. Staff was very friendly, food and beverages are reasonable. Rate is cheap, if you don’t play by the rules, and aren’t hung up on how you score, this is a fun place to play.

Tee boxes were either very good or very bad. Many were completely chewed up. Its been a while since I played here and it looks like management is trying to improve the course conditions. Compared to some of the other coUrses in this price range ($25) Indian Hills is worth the money.

Lots of GUR on fairways and the rough is scruffy, sand traps are dirt but so is anything charging less than double what I paid. Greens are a touch slow but look nice, roll well and are receptive to approach shots.nice old school design with mature trees and elevated tee shots. Great service from everyone i encountered, especially the Filipino gentleman who mans the grill and the starter. Attentive and friendly employees do a lot to make up for other shortcomings.

Greens are smooth but on the slow side and not once, even when I was in the middle of the fairway was I on grass, wait, if you call grass 1/32 high good lie, then maybe once or twice. Bunkers wet dirt and rough like playing in a pasture. Food in snack shop is good though. Have a good weekend all.

Conditions: Must respectifully disagree in part w/prior post. Yes, greens are great ( mite slow) and sand needed in traps, really so early am when wet conditions.

Fairways do have some brown spots, but not hardpan all around. Not Goose Creek, but not Cresta Verde.

IMO rough is nowhere near dirt/holes-spotty in some place, more so the further into it you go, but overall about 1.5 inches.

Layout: I love elevated tee shots- there are plenty on this course. Lots of fun to play. Some uphill greens ( 18). Par 3's excellent. 6100 from back tees not long. Narrow holes offer some defense.

I think it's $55 to ride on weekend- will only play it once in a while. Rather spend $35 to walk somewhere like Shandin.
