JUST A QUICK UPDATE: After course closure for what seems like a couple years, it now has NEW OWNERS that have been working on it. Rumors are of a soft opening sometime in April. Fingers crossed...

So did it look anything like this photo which was published in the California Golf News Magazine? [img:http://calgolfnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Links-at-Summerly-1024x576.png]

There have been many changes to the area around this 18th green, but even though it has been made more friendly, I still suggest a 3 shot hole. Hit a nice drive between the bunkers and choose your best lay-up position. The burn is about 100 yards from the green and the fairway slopes down into the trouble. Either lay-up at least 50 yards short of the burn (your ball will roll right down to 110 yd out) or clear the burn and have a 70 yard wedge into an inverted saucer green. Long or left will usually roll into trouble. Collect your par and head to the great restaurant/bar for a drink!

A long par 4, so gather your remaining energy and hit a long drive along the right side. If you can get it to the slope, you'll get some extra run. If you're really brave, hit the cart path on the right and add 75 yards. Another back-to-front green, with trouble long.
