Played today, 7/3 and was the third group off. The course was very green and lush.....a little too lush. The fairways, though they had no puddles, were VERY wet. There was absolutely no roll out there, yet the greens were extremely firm. The grass on the tee boxes, fairways and rough was thick and good length. The grass on the greens were sparse and they were firm, but the ball rolled true and fast. The bunkers that everyone complains about seem to have been addressed, at least the ones that I hit into. Maybe the bunkers on the Champions have not shown improvement, but the few that I came into contact with on the Legends were excellent. I love this course!!

All this course needs is a bunker renovation and it would rank up with pelican hill. I am definentley coming back to play these. Kudos to the superintendent and his crew

Played on Thursday, 4/10, course was in very good to excellent condition. The fairways are lush and the right length, the rough though not high is sticky and thick, the greens smooth and quick. This facility has two of the best courses in the Inland Empire and their senior rate of $45.00 is more than worth the trip. They provide driving range balls with all green fees, and the balls are always in almost perfect shape. The Legends has same rating as the Champions course but I believe it is much harder. Legends has major bunkering around all the greens making approach shots tough. Because of the bunkering or elevation of the greens, many long or uphill par 4 holes become short par 5 holes for the average distance hitter. Trying to hit your 3 or 5 wood to one of these greens brings bunkers into play, and hitting the green with that much club can mean major trouble beyond the green. The front nine isn't that bad, in fact the first 4 holes will have you thinking I must be a wimp or hacker, but wait and see by the last hole if you aren't worn out from hitting so many woods or long irons. Also be forewarned, the first 7 greens on the "front 9" make the holes very difficult. Very undulating and tiered. On the par 4 holes make sure you land the ball at front of the green regardless of pin placement, these greens will take any ball hit from short middle of green or deeper well off the green surface. Holes number 1 and 6 are the most deceptive of all the greens on the course. Both appear to be sloped back to front but are anything but. Hitting just on the green on either hole will have you sitting in the middle of surface, and that's if you are hitting a short iron or wedge, anything more than an 8 iron hit it short. If pin is deep on the green than try for the middle of green with wedge or short iron, with 7 iron or more make sure to play just short of green. An iron hit just off the green short will easily end up beyond the middle of the green, sometimes off the back. I know hard to believe, but when you're there getting ready to chip remember the advice. Great golf facility, a very fair test of your game and playable for almost everybody. Players with serious driver misbehavior should make sure to bring lots of balls, 12 or more, you will need them.

The driving range is included with the green fee, the only negative to that is I hit so many golf balls I left all my good shots on the range.. haha. This course is 1 of 3 must play courses when ever in the Inland Empire.

played early morning 2-16-08. First round of two today. Had an early morning frost delay, but it turned out to be one of the prettiest days I've ever seen out here. Crystal clear views of the snow capped mountains with temps in the mid 60s. This was our first time out here since the ownship change. Far as I can tell, nothing has changed - which is a good thing because I've always liked the staff here. Great starters and marshals - they really know their stuff and are friendly and attentive. The course is in great shape. The greens are a little hard, but that's probably due to the cold temps. The new owner hasn't done anything about the bunkers, and I'm not going to hold my breath about it.

Played our club tounament Sat 2/9. This was a fun but hectic day. We were met at our car, picked up and driven to the clubhouse and our clubs were put into the appropriate carts. Unfortuanely one of our players who was on the first tee time had his bag misplace, so our 2nd 4some went out so as not to hold up play. The wind was blowing and at times gusting which made the course more difficult than it already is. The customer service was not what we normally get at other tournament sites, the starter at the first tee did not have any special instructions, and when questioned on playing conditions and distance to the first hole fairway bunkers did not know. Tee boxes were decent, fairways were lush with some dry spots, still dormant. Rough was OK, with some dry spots, but had decent roll. The greens were fast, and difficult due to wind conditions. The bunkers were in sad shape, mostly fine dirt with rocks and pebbles, some shots were played with a stone or rock directly behind the ball which did not help a poor bunker player like me.

Overall it was a fun day of golf with my buddies, wind made it frustrating, hard to judge distance which varied due to wind gusts. One drive was 300 yds, downwind and downslope, another was 195 yds into the wind. I normally hit 220 - 230.

I would rate the course a good 7, with sand in the bunkers it's a good 8 ot 9. Don't play county clubs or high end courses, but I'm comparing it to Oak Quarry, or Mojave Resort in Laughlin or Primm Valley.

Played Sat 02/02/08. This course use to be PGA Southern Calif and now changed their name to East Valley Golf Club. Two 18 holes Courses, Legends & Champions. Both courses are in great shape. Bit cold but luckly no winds. Greens are in great condition, GK rating 8.5. Fairways are awesome. Both courses have many well placed fairway bunkers and greenside bunkers. Sands are OK, could be softer with warmer weather. They use to have $5 replay special which was great deal. Gave us incentive to spend more than three hours on the road to play here. Now they raise the rate to $20 which is still good.
Anyway, this is great course to visit if you never played here. I would recommend to get there early and play at least 27 holes.
To East Valley Gold Club, thank you and keep up the good work!
Bring back the $5 replay rate once a while.
