Either me and bggpoppa were the dumbest or we were the smartest yesterday. A little rain, cold weather, windchill factor didn't stop us from playing this course yesterday. We had no one infront and no one behind us, so we had the course all to ourselves.... ="smartest". First, Customer service was excellent here. Staff was very friendly(hopefully new ownership doesn't change that). Course was awesome! Tee boxes were well maintained. Fairways were lush (some spots had drainage issues, but it did just rain). Greens were true, even with the rain, they were tough to read. Couple of holes we were hitting with the wind and a couple the wind was knocking your shots down made for a challenging round. Overall the course layout was great. Worth the $$.

Played with my bro Geraldq18 yesterday (Sunday) 12/10/07.. had rained on saturday and was drizzling when we got there.. Snow had just dusted the mountains and it was cold!! But all things considered the course was in awesome shape. Fast greens, lush fairways. Just a great time.. With the weather we were the only two out there till the clouds went away!

Played on 11/24 as well. Frost delay pushed the 7:14 tee-off by about an hour. Probably one of the best maintained public course in So Cal. Layout is challenging, yet fair. An insider tip about the new ownership - they're required to comply with PGA mandated maintenance standard. Apparently, So Cal PGA has to maintain their presence at the course until 2012 or 2015. Hopefully, this alleviates the concerns of deteriorating conditions that are happening at other courses.

played saturday 11/24. i love this course and the champions course. favorite in all of socal. half price of those irvine courses but conditions, service, layout, greens, everything are 10x better. marshall told me a korean company bought the course, i hope it doesn't turn into a black gold /westridge/strawberry farms. back to reviewing the course, if you're looking for a challenge, this is the best course to play.

The golf course is very lush all around with very few bare spots (which are roped-off, under repair). Greens are firm, smooth and fast. Fairways beautiful. Rough 3 - 4 inches deep and thick. Even the bunkers were fairly fluffy, yet firm and consistant. Tee boxes also excellent.

Without a doubt, hole #7, a par 4, has one of the prettiest green-settings anywhere.

Staff and practice facilities are probably the best anywhere.

Played Sat 11/17. It was a Beautiful day to play on a beautiful golf course with good friends. Fairways were in excellent condition. Greens were firm and fast. Little hard to fix the ball marks. Have some difficulties reading the greens. Looks like there would be some breaks but didn't. Bunkers were regular very thin soil... no sands. That was the only downside. Other than that, everything were in excellent condition. There were not many OB areas thus you should able to hit your driver with ease. There are many green side bunkers but you shouldn't let them pressure you. If you are unsure, just take one club up and should be alright. They have $5 replay which is just awesome. Wish we could have replayed. Staffs were very nice. Cart girl was also nice. I give GK rating of 9.0 If they put some sands into their bunkers, I will give 9.5 to 10. Anyhow, thumbs up for PGA southern calif.

Played on 10/30 at 8:06 and it was a perfect day for golf. Played a terrible front nine, but got it together on the back. This course and Champions are two of the best courses in So. Cal, and for seniors easily the best for the money. Even regular rate isn't bad for the quality of courses, service, and good pace of play. The fairways, tee boxes, and greens (fast, smooth, and receptive) were excellent. The layout is fair but challenging, though the back nine with its greenside bunkering and long par 4's might be a little severe. You normally have to score on the front nine and try to survive the back, though our group today did the exact opposite, funny game golf. Anyway hurry and play since the courses have definitely been sold though still currently under management of SCPGA. Once ownership changes don't expect the same green fees, the SCPGA is a non-profit organization which helped keep green fees in reasonable range. New owners won't have tax breaks and I can only guess they will raise their price to that of Oak Valley across the fwy. Also heard rumor that one of the two courses will become strictly private membership with neighborhood residents getting membership rates lower than general public. So play before the price goes up and the choice goes down.
