Lots of maintainance in progress. Tee boxes recently punched, lots of overseeding, some returfing in spots. Sand in the traps getting thinner and thinner. Since the bunkers are such a feature of these courses, this should be attended to. Course is still very good, employees are uniformly top notch, practice facility wonderful. Its just not as pristine as it was. Guess the summer was tough. Gave it a 7 whereas it was an 8.5 - for me, anyway.

Great course and very golfer friendly but way out in desert and long drive. Only worth effort when weather nice but not when it is hot. Course recently has grass fungus problem but they will deal with it. Nice practice facilities and frendly staff but new staff has done away with golf tourney with giveaways that brought in many from far away. Do not like all the houses being built around course.

Haven't been here for 3 years. Overall, this place is first class in practice facilities. Picking-up of clubs in the parking lot was right-on and checking in was very easy. Then there's the course.

Greens - almost perfect, rolling 10-11.5.

Fairways - Got hit with fungus recently so they were thin and inconsistent. Sometimes void of any grass. Too bad, but not the fault of the course. I'm sure they'll be fine soon.

Rough - 2-3 inches and very consistent with the exception of crab grass just off the 18th green to the right.

Tees - Level and very nice.

Bunkers - Almost unplayable towards the bottom. -Way too thin, hard-packed dirt. Hope for an upslope.

Layout - You have to know where to hit it off the tee,--don't guess or you'll pay dearly. Every hole is scenic, different from the last and a lot of fun.

I will definitely be back.

One other note: If you get there and it's too crowded to play either course, DO NOT HESITATE to play Oak Valley across the freeway. It's just as good if not better.

It's been over a year since I last played here, Played again on 8/4. The course is still one of my favorite, and the only reason I don't get to play here more often is because of the long drive out. Overall, the course is great, except for the bunkers were a bit wet, but with the discounted summer rates, this is probably the best deal anywhere in Southern Cal. Will try to play here more often, especially with this cooler than normal summer temps.

It has been two months since my last visit to the SCPGA, and it never lets me down. Everything from the course condition to the staff is excellent. I am use to paying $85 there on weekend mornings with the $5 rate for a replay, but they have a deal for 50 bucks plus $5 for the replay. I would pay $90 for 36 holes there any day, but 36 holes for $55 is the best deal in town, hands down!

Played on 7/04 and course was in its usual very good to excellent conditions. Guess holiday made play slow, but was following the kind of guys hitting 200 yards drives and wait for green to clear 300 yards away before the hit. Waited on a couple of par 4 holes for the green to clear which was well over 300 yards. Legends is definitely the tougher course of the two here. Severe bunking around the greens, and placed in the fairway make it tough. If you don't hit your driver at least 270yds consistently don't even think about playing this at any length over the blue tees. Blue tees here are typically white on most other courses. At approximately 6400 yds. this thing is a brute and much longer than a lot of courses I play that are 6600-6800 yards. Special course and is worth the green fees, and for another $5.00 you can play the Champions, if you still feel a need for more

Played in 3 hours 20 min as a 2 some. greens are quick and tough... killed my score. houses are prominent, compared to 3 years ago... no houses... 5 years ago, no building... but not right on top of the course. i.e., you won't lose a ball in someone's backyard unless you hit a REALLY bad shot. more building on this course.
weather not bad at all. wind picked up a little, and got pretty hot, but very comfy.

We played the Legends Course on our $5 Replay after playing the Champions track in the morning. The Legends is equally as good as the Champions in condition and seems to be a little more forgiving. The greens on the Legends may even be a little better than the Champions. The customer service is phenominal! The guy in the proshop remembered my name from my morning round and was very helpful and friendly.

Played the morning of May 6. The course is in A+ condition. The greens are recovered from the most recent aeration and the they are rolling smooth and fast. Every area of the course is in tip top shape. With the $5 replay, any serious golfer would be wise to take advantage of these 2 courses right now. I just played Industry Hills as well, and while I like the Ike and the new upgrades, the PGA facility still is superior (except for the bunkers - although they look like they've been dragged recently).
