Played here on Sunday the 28th. I think the course is playing way too hard.
1. Too many elevated greens from downhill lies.
2. The fairway grass is thin so the ball kind of sits down on a hard, mudlike turf. It's hard to make even decent contact
3. The greens are wayy too fast for the amount of slope. It is impossible to read the green because sometimes the wind can affect the break more than the actual slope.

Played here on saturday 10/31/09. The fairways and teeboxes were overseeded so it was a little harder to make good contact on the ball. im sure they will be in great condition in no time. the greens were super fast and if you missed the green or even the pin for that matter on the wrong side, then you were probably facing at least 3 shots from there to get in the hole. the pace of play was slow because it was cart path only. the super long rough didnt' help because we had a few moments when we knew our ball was there but just couldnt' find it.
for the price, it wasn't bad. you get free range balls and tees, and the course was really nice.
before going i checked out the photos on this site and i thought was going to be easy. the greens are firm and don't hold spin that well and the water and trees make most of the tee shots pretty demanding. overall i had a good time, but if i take into consideration the almost 2 hour drive, i probably won't be back for a while.

Played here on Saturday 10/14/09. Even though our tee time was at 1:30 we teed off at 1. we thought great its going to be a good day. wrong. we waited almost 10 minutes on every hole, had to deal with people behind asking us questions as if it was our fault, and there was not single marshal the whole day. we finished in the dark

Played this course 10/18/09.

fairways: nice and soft. we played in the morning so they were moist. if you hit the ball well, you would get one of those nice pro looking divots. the course was apparently on fire a little while ago, but unless you go into the hazard, it won't affect your play. it might even help since the trees are gone. watch out, i walked into one and what looks like hard dirt is actually ash

greens: rolled well, very slick. combined with the terrible-ness that is my putting it proved to be a very tough day on the greens. my playing partners were rewarded for good putts. i was punished for bad putts.

pace: pretty good. went out at 10 AM finished in 4-4.5 hours.

layout: this course is very short from the blues. it demands accuracy over distance. many blind tee shots, forced carries, elevated tees where you really have to think before you hit. if you've ever played the ranch up in san jose, this course is a shorter version of that.

in closing: i don't think i would be the first in my group to suggest going back here because target golf is too much stress on the mind. it was a fun / interesting experience and i would recommend playing it if you're into the target golf thing

played saturday 11/24. i love this course and the champions course. favorite in all of socal. half price of those irvine courses but conditions, service, layout, greens, everything are 10x better. marshall told me a korean company bought the course, i hope it doesn't turn into a black gold /westridge/strawberry farms. back to reviewing the course, if you're looking for a challenge, this is the best course to play.

tee time at 9, walked off 18th green at 4. i guess the good thing is i did something i never tried before, which is a 7 hour round.

this course is niiice. greens could be better, but they are fast and smooth. don't hold shots too well. fairways were still green and well maintained. was an honor to play in the group behind the club champion.

if you're willing to drive all the way here, just go to cross creek which has 10x better service and conditions.

drove an hour out there and my playing partners drove even more, 90 minutes. when you first drive up to a course especially one taht is supposed to represent your golf association you should be excited at first glance. we got the complete opposite feeling. when we saw the fairways, they looked like they were unsure whether to keep a fairway or turn it into a bunker. however, when we saw the greens we felt a little better and were excited to play on them, but that didn't happen. the staff let everyone there drive 50+ miles to their course to let them find out there was a 2 hour frost delay. on the already slow palying conditions, which meant that anyone with a tee time after 10 probably wouldn't finish. wouldn't give us our refund. all in all this place is a piece

played here today, feb 1st. we teed off at 11:07, and for some reason they were letting the sprinklers run while we were palying for the first two holes and that didn't help the already slow pace of play. we ended up finishing our round at 5:10. also, on one hole we got too close to the green with the cart (our fault, shoudln't have done that) but a man came down from another tee box saying he was the head general manager. we told him that we were sorry and that we didn't even go on the green but we had no choice because we didn't want to drive backwards. we shoudnt' have been near there but he was very rude. also, i don't understand why he is out playing golf instead of doing somehting about the pace of play, or the sprinklrse, or about the dying and slow greens on his course.

I just played westridge with another GK member pandaxshin. the course was not in bad shape, some ground under repair here and there and the greens were a little bit bumpy but playable. the worst part was that just because itw as a nice day the starters decided to let groups out in intervals of four minutes or something crazy. the course was so backed up and the rude players behind us asking to play through didn't help. way too crowded but ok course if you are willing to wait for 6 hours.
