I haven't seen a new review for this course in quite sometime, so here it is. First of all, I really love this course, however, it has some drawbacks that make me not want to pay $90 on the weekends to drive all the way out here. Lets just look at this wonderful Pete Dye designed course from tee to green. The tee boxes are mostly in good shape from the blue tees, but there are several that need some serious leveling. Hopefully, your tee ball is in the fairway because most of them are in good condition and you'll have a decent lie. If your ball finds the rough, that's the perfect adjective to describe it. ROUGH You could have any number of issues from dirt, mud, standing water, long grass, short grass, weeds...you get the picture. This course is extremely in need of attention outside of the fairways. The greens and fringes are great. The best part of this course by far, aside from the layout. I played this course a lot back when it was still 27 holes and it was beautiful. Now, it really needs some attention to bring this gem back to it's original glory. This course will challenge you enough, without having to deal with the poor rough conditions. Pete is probably rolling over in his grave. Anyway, the new clubhouse is done, just waiting for it to open up. It looks great! The staff is about as friendly as you could ask for. Despite the conditions, I'll be back, but perhaps during the week when it's a bit cheaper. One more thing, the views around the course are always a treat.
