Of the Hesperia, Green Tree, and Apple Valley courses, Apple Valley is in the best shape out of all three. It was hard to believe I was in the desert as this course was so lush. The greens are 90% healed from the aerification, but are slow. Someday I would like to play here when the greens are faster. go in!!!!! aah lipped out The course is easy to walk. However, very few holes out here are flat. There always seems to be a hole going slightly uphill or downhill. I hit driver on all par 4's and 5's as there is room for error a bit off the tee. You see Joshua Trees on the front 9 in the rough areas and the back 9 in the fairways. Sorry Johnny I forgot my camera. On 5, there is a hidden pond short and right of the green. Other than that what you see is what you get on this nice golf course.

This course is being revived, but is a work in progress. It gets incrementally better each time I play it. I think the greater the revenue stream flowing into this club (as the local economy recovers), the more this club will be able to invest in course improvement, e.g. practice range, improved fairways and tee boxes, as well as retail and the clubhouse. The latter is a shadow of its former self to be sure. One key improvement I have noticed is the condition of the greens. This element of the course has received focus from the SI and staff, and saves this track ,considering its current condition, from being a 'fair' to 'good' experience.

Our tee time was delayed due to the watering of the greens by 30 min. The sand bunkers were soaked and flooded. The other bunkers that were dry are hard like cement, and could not get underneath the ball. The fairways were good. The greens were good. I would play here again.

First time playing here. Great old school course, in terrific condition. Pretty much a straight forward layout, but the par 4's were really long for old duffer like me. My daughter, a beginning golfer, really liked the flat layout, not too many elevation changes except for some elevated greens. Greens were in great shape, not too slow, not too fast. Didn't really care for the driving range, kinda small, not large enough to hit a driver off of, and worn out pieces of carpet for mats. Really was no service to speak of outside, no offer to help with the bags and no cart girl. Living in Vegas, that's something I guess I've been spoiled on. Overall, a great experience, one we will do again.

First time I've played here. The course was in very good condition, the greens were excellent! Customer service was great. Course has some nice holes, but I understand the wind blows a lot here (It certainly did today) which would be the only factor which would discourage me from returning soon

This place is really coming around right now. Greens are near perfect. Fairways are filling in nicely. The rough is getting to a nice, consistent-but-playable height. Bunkers are firm and take some getting used to but are more than playable. The tee boxes are great.

Customer service is always good too, but don't expect a cart girl to come around during play. Rounds very seldom take more than 3:45 to play which is another great plus.

Overall you can't go wrong with this old fashioned, (I say that in a very positive sense), and fun golf course.

Played on 8/6/09 the course was in good shape. You can tell some of the course got a little toasty from the previous week when it got above 110 degrees. But the course is recovering nicely, kudos to such a good maintence staff (spoke with a nice guy named Phil on the maintance staff who gave me the info on the recent heat), they better make sure to keep their greenskeeper he's a winner. The greens are nice and fast as usuall and the course was playing a little firm which was nice and made me feel like I can actually hit the ball a long ways. Also we played in about 3.5 hours which was awesome! Much better than my 5.5 hour round at westwinds last week.

Good track, recently opened to the public. Fairways were dormant but overall in nice shape--if you like tight lies and their resultant spin you will love them. Greens were fantastic--look for a likely drop in their quality due to the newly public nature of the course (perhaps less $$ being spent on their upkeep and more members of the public--SOME of whom know not how to repair a ballmark.) Green complexes are somewhat sloped and FAST--stay below the hole if possible. Bunkers were in nice shape. Pace of play was great. That being said I did tee off at 3pm.
One glaring problem was the lack of a twilight rate---$42 to tee off at 3pm??!? CMON. The guy said these were introductory rates, but the CC will be hard pressed to generate revenues after a given time--especially when all the surrounding golf courses offer substantial discounts after 2-4 pm, some ever earlier!

I have played this course in the past and always enjoyed my round although I saw room for improvment, which is what I was thinkung might happen with new management. Played on saturday 1/17 @ noon, cost was $42, a bit overpriced compared to other courses in the area. The fairways are dried out, rough is gone, bunkers thin and there are several spots on the greens that need repair. It must have been family day because there were kids in almost every group and most were like 12 or younger. I do believe in introducing golf to the youth but in the right way, the things I saw this day were rediculous. Kids learning from adults that still need to be taught the basics, ie: Dress code, the golf course is a quiet place not romper room, bunkers are not for running in and greens are not to be ran and jumped on. Also as being new to the game theses family groups need to learn they should pick up the ball and move on to the next hole when they have exceded par x 10. To wrap up my day when it was time for my approach shot into the last hole I had to ask the teens playing TENNIS on the green !! yes I said tennis, if they could delay their game long enough for me to play through. While in the 19th hole I was told by some former members this family stuff is common on sayurdays and that sundays were not as bad, I doubt that I will return to find out.
