Golf Course Reviews: California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Utah, Florida, Hawaii! You must hit the ball high on approach shots into these greens. No hole is overly long so it can be done if you play the right tees given how far you drive the ball. A spectacular golf course. I love playing holes along mountain sides. It takes away, for the better, the same old look of having houses on both sides. I would love to do an unlimited golf package here next summer. This is an awesome golf resort. steve165
Wow, what a great great course condition wise. The rough is a perfect 10 !! I rarely give out 10's. This course might be in better shape than any in the Coachella Valley right now. The customer service was very good. Gary Player would be proud!! steve165
Except for number 8, the par 3's on this course are monsters. I hit driver on 17 that was into the wind. The back 9 is very long. Overall the course is not too difficult in that you have quite a bit of leeway off the tee. The conditions are good but the tee boxes are great. There is no driving range. There is only a net to hit some warm up balls into. This course gets windy in the afternoon.
The rough out here is so varied in length that you could hit it wild and be ok, or be just off the fairway but be in grass so thick that you have to step on it to find it. I think this adds a lot of character to this course that is very flat. You have to golf your ball better to score on the back 9. There are large areas in the fairway and some tee boxes that have just perfect grass. The greens roll truer than they look. It is a good idea to have a jacket handy as it can get cool even in the summer time.
Overall the course is in good shape. But there are too many areas in the fairway and rough where you have nice grass and than all of a sudden you see bad areas with NO grass. There are many humps, bunkers, and irregular shaped greens to give you more of a challenge. This is needed because the course is very short. However, at only 5826 yards and easy to maintain, the course is way over priced. ($39 to walk on weekday) The fee should be $25 to walk in my opinion. Sad to say I will not be back.
I really like the layout of this course. No two holes are alike out here. There is even some holes with good views. The greens were also very nice without being fast. The fairways rough and bunkers are so-so. The tee boxes are not good. This is one course where the ok conditions do not take away the fun of golf here because of the great layout and variety of holes. The driving range is pretty awful, however.
Both courses are in good shape. The greens are fairly fast and smooth. I have played this course in prior summers and was disappointed. But, not this summer. There is more hot temperatures ahead but so far this course has been maintained very well withstanding the heat.
The worst conditioned golf course I have played all year. It is not really worth the $16 dollar green fee of Thursdays. The greens on the front 9 were horrible. The back 9 was ok. The tee boxes are simply a joke. The fairway grass ranged from dry spots to thick grass...totally inconsistent. Play Menifee Lakes instead ok? ok
One of many private courses that allow public to play is this course. Like many private courses this one is tight off the tee. There are birdie holes but there are some very difficult ones that can easily destroy a good round. Everything is nice except the rough areas. Actually the tee boxes were nothing to brag about as well. You will love 12 13 and 14. I wish I took a picture on 14 tee but I forgot my camera :( It is a very downhill 260 yard carry over water, tight, 369 yard par 4. What a view from the tee!! A 300 yard equivalent drive would reach this green most likely. The houses must get bombarded on both sides of the fairway on this hole. 12 is a tough 3 shot DLL par 5. 13 is a neat, tight downhill par 3. If I ever play here again I will hit less drives off the tee and more irons and 3 woods.
A terrific golf course. The course is in great shape even though it has been hot. I have never seen so many bunkers on a golf course. This course makes up for the lack of mountain views with plenty of desert vegetation and nice water holes. You rarely see another hole that you have just played or will play. To score here it is a must to stay out of the desert areas. The rakes for bunkers are in the ground spring loaded. Very interesting. I must play here every summer!
It is sad to say but the fairways and rough have really gone downhill this past month. I think they are overwatering. There are other courses that have decent fairways despite the heat like Desert Willow and Shadow Hills.
I was very disappointed with the greens and bunkers today. The course is hard enough with the swirling wind in the afternoon and then you have to play on bunkers that were too hard and greens very bumpy. The fairways and rough were in great shape, however. I heard there is a change in management as a reason for the lousy greens and bunkers. This course plays a good 5 to 10 strokes harder in the afternoon. Every employee is very friendly.
