Why isn't more golfers talking about this course? IDK!! Definitely a course one must play if you ever get the invite. Great clubhouse!!! Rough is ROUGH!!!!!!!!!!!! Distance killer!!! If you play it during the winter times, don't be too surprised of the snow capped mountain tops when the holes are facing north! Awesome views!!!!

I played here once this week and once last week. I love this layout. It is an old school and mature track requiring thoughtful strategy on every hole. The fairways are dormant but still provide good lies. The rough is well....nearly perfect. It is green and lush as what a private course should provide. The greens roll very true and fast. Putts in the direction of Ontario are fast even if it appears uphill. Putts towards the mountains do not roll out as much.
The first hole is a very risky but rewarding 265 yard par 4. Miss the green long or right on your tee shot or second shot and you are in a world of hurt. Miss short and you are in water. Laying up with a 5 iron or hybrid is best. You will have 40 to 70 yards to the large green.
The only negative I would say is the putting green is tiny and the driving range is irons only. If given the opportunity to play here by all means do it. It is a 6500 yard blast of fun.

Work meeting in Rancho Cucamonga turned into a late afternoon invite to Red Hill Country Club for the first time ever, so of course saying 'no' was not an option. I only knew this was an older club (founded in 1921) that had a good reputation and not much else. I was open for anything.

What I got was a fantastic treat and surprise. This place is a real gem. The surrounding mountain scenery framing holes is epic. The design is classic and just great fun with a premium on good angles (not necessarily hitting bombs). In many ways it reminded me of the Saticoy Club in Ventura, only without the cool ocean breezes. The fairways are dense with trees that provide the most defense, along with numerous well-placed bunkers, water features and a few thin and tricky fairways. Let's also throw in a few of those middle of the fairway trees as well just for a good time. I loved it.

The conditions were fantastic with the one downer being the timing on my part to come just a week or so after the greens had been punched. They're about a week or two away from perfection, so I hope to come back when that's the case. But the green complexes are superb and you can tell that the greens are immaculate (or will be) once this process is over.

The rest of the course? Simply terrific. Very lush and slightly less green fairways than the deep and penal rough bordering the main alleys. Never a bad lie all day, with the exception of course of any shots I sprayed into the mulch offline areas. The tee boxes (we played from the back tees) were in great shape and the bunkers had very fine sand in them making them dreamy to play out of when I found myself in one. Just a sparkling piece of property.

The carts are brand new and probably the nicest ones I've ever seen. They have an excellent GPS system, USB ports for your phone and the comfiest seats you'll ever find. Just top notch all around. We moved pretty well as one would expect and finished in a little over four hours after we caught a slower moving group in front of us around the 14th hole. But with the great views of Cucamonga Peak in the distance and the warm sun on my face, I could not have cared less spending a little more time there.

All amenities were super and we also had some fabulous 'street tacos' in the clubhouse after the round while waiting out traffic to die down before heading back to the South Bay. All in all it was just a wonderful impromptu afternoon and I can't wait to play this terrific course again in the near future. Don't miss it. And yes, took some pics to add later!

Played today in an SCGA event. Instead of a shotgun start, tee times were assigned. We played in 4 H. Having never played here before, I was very interested in seeing for myself, if the conditions would be like many before have posted. They were and were not. The exception to previous posts had to do with the greens. While those before me had great greens, the ones today were good, but not exceptional. Why? They had recently punched them and they were inconsistent, the whole round. They held shots, but chipped/putted slow most of the round. Would have been enjoyable to have them play like others before have stated. Other than that detail, the course is a great golf course. Very green and lush. Fairways were just great, both in roll and lies. The outside of the fairways are greener than the fairways and have a first cut of rough and a primary (deep and difficult) and are very pleasing to the eye, from the tee. Tee boxes were all level and clean. Bunkers are deep, with plenty of good sand, but are difficult to climb out of, due to the depth and steep banks. Very few fairway bunkers, but all greens are guarded by large/deep bunkers. The fairways are tree lined and errant shots can leave you with some very difficult recovery options. Several holes have water that comes into play, as well. IMO this is one of the best private courses, I have had the opportunity to play in S CA. If you have the chance to play, by all means do so.

Played Thursday AM in a LA Seniors event against three other clubs. Customer Service is first class! Greens: about 95% "healed", holding with medium to fast speed. Lots of contour and unusual breaks considering you are at the base of the mountains. Fairways: excellent, not a bad lie all day! Traps: freshly raked with plenty of sand. Rough: 1-3" high, ball sat down, quite punishing. Local knowledge is very critical. Our local was also our opponent so we didn't get a lot of help, just the basic info. Still had a great time! A very challenging course. A MUST play if you get an invite! Driving tip: if you are driving up the 15 from San Diego at AM rush hour, allow an extra 40 minute as the road 10 miles South of the 91 to the 91 is very slooow....

Very good impressions with course and condition. Old school layout, long but fair, tree lined, and very narrow in spots, with large mature trees dictating position off tee, and guarding some greens. Fairly flat, downhill 1 and 10, and plays more left to right (6 holes), than right to left (3). (Unusual opening hole, downhill, right to left 267 yards, which for first timers is just an iron or hybrid down the left side, but would have been more fun to go for it with 3 wood or Driver). Course got much tougher immediately after first hole.

Conditioning very good, given drought conditions. Greens were green, and rolling nicely, were receptive, but quite deceptive. Not a lot of obvious contouring, but all had some tilt, and some much less obvious than others.

Fairways were also very good condition, nicely manicured with good lush coverage and cushion, but also good roll out. Very few bare spots, but I managed to miss my share of fairways, so disappointed not to get the premium second shots more often.

Rough was kind of a coin flip. Quite lush and deep in spots, but bare and sparse in others. I got both during my round. Lush rough was penal, but fair. If you missed in a clumpy area, you could get very poor lies, and incur some difficulty getting near green.

Sand bunkers were good. Only found one, but it was excellent. Bunkers are mostly high faced / firm around edges and flat, well maintained in bottom, so shots usually rolled down to flat area. Very playable.

Very much enjoyed this course, and will consider going back for next SCGA outing in November. Reasonably priced ($70), with access to proshop and snack shop.

Recommend if you get the opportunity.
