Greens were slow with an unusual amount of grain for a So. Cal course. Fairways and tee's were in good shape, with the three traps I was in during the day in playable condition. Speaking of playable, our round took 5 hours, as we waited on almost every hole to hit. They have a clock system throughout the course to allow you the chance to see how you are dooing time wise, it did not help move the pace of play at all.

Staff were very friendly and informative and the overall feel is one of a private club. The weather was perfect, on a 90+ day in Orange County, it was 72-74 degrees here all day. If you can stand the slow pace of play and the greens, not all bad.

If Arrowood's not careful, it's going to turn into the next Encinitas Ranch. Meaning the greens are borderline unplayable. I know they aerated a month ago, but the greens are still dimpled and bumpy and sandy and you can't hold a line when you putt. Not to mention the ridiculous number of unrepaired ball marks. And, considering how JC promotes the hell out of their pace-of-play program, I don't understand why I've played two 5-hour rounds back to back at Arrowood in the last 4 weeks. Today's excuse, according to the marshal, was that "the owner of the course brought a large group of people out in the morning and, you know, we can't really ask him to play faster". Yeah, that makes sense. If I wasn't a JC member, I'd never play Arrowood for the prices they charge. Try Twin Oaks instead. Exact same course conditions for $20-30 less on the weekends ... and you'll finish on time.

the greens are half aerated now..but not a problem..they are putting the tee placements away from the aeration...big big greens so no problem...some holes cart path only..doesnt make sense...slows up play...for being a new course. and mid to high green fee..carts with gps should be offered or standard..would speed up play too...just old fashioned plain carts...but the course is quite the challenge for a shorter course!!!!

Tough greens but course was in good condition. I can definately see myself playing another round of golf here in the future.

OK, the only reason we finished in 4 hours on 1/7 is that we played the front 9 twice. The first time it took 2.5 hours - absolutely brutal, considering how much noise JC Resorts makes about their pace-of-play program. Then we had to decide between a 3-hour back 9 (based on the marshal's estimate) or the front 9 again. Easy decision, and the front 9 only took 90 minutes the 2nd time around. Still, what a shame - I've never seen Arrowood so slow. The greens are outstanding - firm and fast - but the fairways are pretty thin for the most part. Rough is OK and bunkers are hit or miss - either really fluffy sand or really wet, hardpacked sand. Overall, probably not worth the retail price and the $70 JC price on weekends is pushing it. Why can't people play a round of golf in less than 4.5 hours?! So irritating. On the plus side, Arrowood's staff is great and Kara on the beer cart can turn a slow round into a fun day. Play faster, people!!!

Everything in this place is excellent, customer service, starter, tee-boxes, greens, marshalls, cart lady came at least 3 times, but the fairways a bit tough. It's like playing on top of the cement or mat. Don't know if course made to be that way or not well maintained, because the fairway grass turns yellow from hole 1 thru 18, old divot that never recovered due to not enough water, so the grass doesn't cover the divot fast enough.

Played this course Dec. 5th as a business golf outing. I was very impressed. First the staff was very friendly and courteous, in the pro-shop, the snack bar, and the starter were all very friendly and accomodating.

The course itself is in good shape. The fairways and the tee boxes were in excellent shape. The greens were a little bit firm, but a good shot with some spin would stay on. The layout has some challenging holes and some pretty straightforward holes. Not overly easy, but not to much strategy required either.

The marshalls at this course are fantastic! Saw the marshall at least every three holes throughout the entire round. I was in a twosome with a foursome in front, and even though the group in front was playing on pace to finish in 4:30, we were playing faster and the marshall politely asked the foursome if they would let us play through. Overall I had a fantastic experience at this course despite not shooting well.

Played Nov 30. Course is in great shape. Greens were rolled so they are fast. Never had bad fairway lie. Played in 4 1/2 hours. Staff is great and helpful.
