Played 11/9 from the tips. Lots of elevation changes and the contoured greens definitely make it challenging and providing picturesque views. Course is in great shape and the greens roll true. Did a 4 1/2 hr walk. Needed to hitch a ride between some holes.

Played at 6:18 am on Saturday 11/4. Course is back to its old great shape. The course took a beating over the summer but I'm pleased to report that the fairways and greens were in great shape. The rough was a little high for us weekend hackers, but I'm sure they have been letting the rye overseeding come in.

Staff is very friendly with one minor exception, the boys at the cart barn when you drop off your cart were very slow to help unloan our bag or clean up the clubs. I guess they don't need tips up there in Oceanside.

We were second group out so it's no great surprise that the pace of play was great. Our 4some finished in just a little over 4 hours. I like the rcourse very much, but I would like to see them rework a couple of holes. We play from the tips, and it wouldn't take much to make the 469 yard #16 a par 5 so we could end up with a par 72 course.

The course is still on my "recommended" list.

Played on Saturday 10/21 about 10:30 am. The course is now in excellent condition. Fairways, tees, greens, etc. Greens were very fast but very smooth. Pace of play was a little slow, about 4:40, but not terrible fro prime time Saturday. Four holes were cart path only, the rest 90 degree rule. Staff is top notch, the most friendly I've ever seen, from Pro Shop, starter, cart gal, snack bar, etc. Weather was perfect, and enjoyable day. The course demands some accuracy due to harzards along the fairways, but not that long. Only 2 water holes, 16 and 18. 16 was also the longest part 4. I played for the JC rate and that was worth it to me.

Played this course in a tournament on 9/9/06. has a lot of potential. Beautiful lay out, cool breeze near the ocean. The course is in pretty bad shape. All par 3's and the entire back 9 were cart path only. They are trying to repair the fairways by owverseeding and over watering. The result being sloppy and muddy fairways. Greens need to be worked on, ball marks every where. Not worth the $90 on the weekend play it during the week until they improve the course. Staff is very helpful and nice.

This course is in terrible shape!!! Imagine playing a desert course, but instead of desert where the fairway ends, there is nothing but mud and dead grass. Greens are average, lots of ball marks, but they roll about an 8. Tee boxes were fine. Fairways were good in very limited areas. This is the first time I played this course and will not go back until they get their course in much, much better condition. The course is way overpriced for what it is, even if it's in perfect condition, the price is still a little steep.

Other than the terrible conditions, staff was friendly. Course layout is actually better than I expected. Lots of natural arroyos and interesting scenery. Not a difficult course, but if the groundskeeper gets this course in decent shape, i think this course would definitely be worth playing.

JC Golf, you should be embarrased! Get it together or lower the rates.

Played 8/19. On the positive side of things, the greens are in nice shape - medium soft and they roll nice. This is also a fun layout to play, lots of elevation changes. Negatively, the fairways are in poor condition - many, many bare spots - not sure its a function of the new-ness of the course or maybe some disease. Hopefully, this will improve as this course matures.

I played on Sunday for $70. You can't beat that price for this layout.

They need to close this course, fire the maintenance head and grow some grass in the fairways and rough. We hit off bare dirt in most fairways all day. This is probably the poorest conditiones course that I have played in Southern California in 20 years.
