Played this course for the first time today. The course is in very good condition. It is a good layout, with some straightforward holes and some very challenging holes. A lot of the par 5's are reachable and might be better played as long par 4's, but it definitely helps scoring. The course however, would benefit from teaching players how to properly fix ball marks....many greens, especially the shorter par 3's were pretty pock-marked in the front. The GPS is an excellent feature, makes it much easier for a first time player.

The only drawback to this course, as has been mentioned extensively, is the PACE OF PLAY. It took 5:20 to play on a WEDNESDAY, even after we started 25 minutes after our tee time. It wasn't so bad because the company was good, but it could get tedious if you aren't playing with people you like.

Overall it was a great experience and I would highly recommend this course.

Went down to El Prado for the first time today. The course is in very good shape, but parts of it are VERY WET and soggy. I had one drive on #3 that carried about 250 yard but traveled a total of 250.5 yards because it landed in a mud patch in the middle of the fairway.

The layout was nothing to write home about. There are some strategically placed water hazards which make a few holes interesting, but most are pretty straightforward without a lot of character (although it might be that I'm spoiled from playing Marshall Canyon so much).

Much of the rough is yellow right now but that owes more to playing on December 11th than bad mainenance. The greens are very soft and hold approach shots well. My shots never back up on greens but they were backing up today. The greens are also pretty flat and slow today. Very easy to read.

Side note: on the holes with water there were a lot of birds hanging out, so there was tons of excrement on the fairways, and on a few greens, which would make it very hard to get a clean line to the hole.

Overall it was a fun round, but not a ton of challenge or strategy required.

Overall this is a good, and from what I've seen, well maintained course. The greens are really what make this course. They are very tricky in some spots and difficult to read. The are soft and will catch approach shots well but fast at the same time. Putting here is a real challenge.

Because the course isn't very long the course is set up to place a premium on accuracy off the tee. There are spots on the course where a ball in the fairway will not have an unobstructed path to the greens. This course is easier to play the second time around when you have a better feel for the greens and a better idea of where to place your shots.

Played this course Dec. 5th as a business golf outing. I was very impressed. First the staff was very friendly and courteous, in the pro-shop, the snack bar, and the starter were all very friendly and accomodating.

The course itself is in good shape. The fairways and the tee boxes were in excellent shape. The greens were a little bit firm, but a good shot with some spin would stay on. The layout has some challenging holes and some pretty straightforward holes. Not overly easy, but not to much strategy required either.

The marshalls at this course are fantastic! Saw the marshall at least every three holes throughout the entire round. I was in a twosome with a foursome in front, and even though the group in front was playing on pace to finish in 4:30, we were playing faster and the marshall politely asked the foursome if they would let us play through. Overall I had a fantastic experience at this course despite not shooting well.

Just played this course for the first time. I was pretty impressed that the course is in such good shape for this time of year. One reason that it is in such good shape is they must be putting a ton of water on it...some spots were pretty soggy, but not water in the shoes soggy. Still playing short, all the tee boxes are up in front, on one hole they even have everyone playing from the gold tee box which takes 100 yards off the hole. The greens are in really good shape in my opinion, balls are rolling true for the most part. I would definitely recommend this course, I had a great time playing it.

A very good public course with some challenging spots and some good elevation changes. There are a few spots that could use some attention but overall a good course and a good value.

This is a good course with some challenging holes and recently has been in good shape for such a crowded course. As seems to be the theme here to pace of play is very slow. There will probably be a good deal of waiting on the tee boxes and in the fairways for the group ahead of you to get through. Last week I was the first group (luckily a twosome with another quick player) to get out after the CIF girl's tournament and was able to play all 18 holes in about 2 hours 40 minutes. However, I have played this course starting at 12:30 and having to stop on the 16th on account of darkness. From what I've seen it looks like the starters just throw anyone who shows up out on the first tee regardless of reservations or the number of other groups already waiting on the tee. It is more the number of groups that makes the pace slow rather than the speed of the individual groups.
